When Tang Ran and Luo Zhan arrived in old mister Luo’s study, Tang Luoqian looked like she’d been sitting for a while.
Old mister Luo was sitting in the main seat of the sofa. Tang Luoqian sat beside him on the leather sofa’s nearest, looking docile and obedient, without half of the bossiness from before.
Luo Zhan swept past her and moved his eyes away without pausing.
The dessert and the tray had already been sent to the side room of the study. At this moment he was strolling in lazily with only a white notepad, following the servant and the little girl with the blind cane.
“Old sir, the young master and Miss Tang Ran have arrived.” The servant stopped by the sofa.
Old Master Luo had heard them coming in, and only now did he return to his senses, shifting away his complicated gaze from the little girl holding the blind cane.
He opened his mouth and hesitated for a few seconds before softening his tone, asking as if the question would scare the little girl, “You’re Tang Ran, right?”
Tang Ran hadn’t reacted yet, but Luo Zhan frowned at Old Master Luo.
After a few seconds of silence in the study, Tang Ran spoke softly, “Hello, Grandpa Luo.” The girl’s voice had a clean feel to it, with just a little bit of subtle nervousness hidden in it.
“Good, good.” The old man answered repeatedly. Remembering something, he looked at his grandson with dissatisfaction, “Why aren’t you saying anything? Your sister Tang Ran can’t see, and you don’t know how to help her sit down?”
“……”
Luo Zhan’s figure slightly paused.
Although he had specially asked the servant to exchange all the clothes on his body with clothes without incense before going downstairs, he was still afraid of being identified when he was too close.
Luo Zhan subconsciously inclined his head and looked at the little girl in front of him.
Just in time to see Tang Ran, probably judging by the direction the old master was talking to, figured out his location. The girl blanked for a few seconds, then very slightly and slowly…… moved a centimeter away from him.
Luo Zhan: “.”
It seems that his fierce reputation as the young master of the Luo family had really spread far and wide.
The rebellious nature that had been dead for many years stirred up at the bottom of his heart. Luo Zhan hooked the corner of his mouth. Without speaking, he walked over to support the girl’s wrist, and brought the reluctant little girl, whose whole body was rejecting him, to the sofa like a baby chick.
Sitting down on the sofa with difficulty, Tang Ran drew back her hand with a whoosh, as if she would be eaten by this great evil devil named “Luo Zhan” after one more second.
Looking at the little girl’s pale face still trying to maintain her manners, the old master finally frowned and looked at his grandson with displeasure, “Are you a gangster?”
“……”
“Why aren’t you saying anything?”
“……”
The servant saw that the old master was about to get angry but the young master still remained standing lazily and carelessly by the side like nothing was wrong, so he hastily bowed to the old master and explained, “The young master has a sore throat and can’t speak.”
“Sore throat?” The old man frowned, “Wasn’t it fine this morning?”
“Maybe, maybe it suddenly happened.” Thinking about how Luo Zhan’s voice was so smooth on the terrace, the servant was a bit unconfident when he said this.
Luckily, the old master didn’t investigate deeper, only frowned and gave Luo Zhan a stare, “Then you sit down too.”
Luo Zhan originally wanted to refuse.
But he saw out of the corner of his eye the little girl who unconsciously tensed her shoulders after hearing this. He hooked the corners of his mouth again.
Without having the old man indicate where to sit, Luo Zhan deliberately took heavy steps, walked to the sofa where Tang Ran was sitting, and sat down confidently.
The elastic leather sofa was intentionally pressed by someone who wanted to declare his presence.
Sitting on the edge of the sofa, the little girl followed the light movement, then slowly drew away from him.
Luo Zhan held back his laughter and coughed lowly as he inclined his head.
Tang Ran was carefully shrinking her arms and legs so as not to provoke the scary young master. After hearing this movement, she was slightly stunned.
This timbre, why did it sound a bit like…..
Not waiting to finish that thought, the girl shook her head in her heart and denied her train of thought.
The next nearly a quarter of an hour, Tang Luoqian accompanied the old man to chat.
Occasionally the old master would specifically ask Tang Ran a few questions. Only then did the girl seem to come out from her small, solitary, and quiet world to say a few words.
Every time she opened her mouth, leaning on the armrest at the other end of the sofa farthest from the three, Luo Zhan would always lift his sleepy eyes and listen to the little girl’s voice softly and quietly say a few words.
The girl’s voice was very pleasant, but he wondered if it was also the same when crying…
Luo Zhan’s eyelids jumped violently.
He was startled by his own unexpected thoughts that his whole body tensed up.
Instantly not at all sleepy, completely awake.
Across the long coffee table, the old man was startled by Luo Zhan’s abrupt reaction, and got angry, “What’s up with you tonight!”
“……”
Luo Zhan stopped. Stiffening his body, he glanced at the blind little girl who was completely oblivious to everything with complicated and deep eyes.
Luo Zhan slowly lowered his eyes, suppressing the agitation in his heart. He picked up the notepad next to him and quickly wrote a few words in cursive, sliding them along the coffee table to the old master’s eyes:
[The nagging, are you done?]
The old master was so angry that he wanted to kick him.
After holding back, the old master spoke: “It’s getting late, it’s no fun to stay with me, an old man—I won’t delay you guys, have Luo Zhan send you downstairs.”
Tang Luoqian eyes flashed, smiling tenderly: “How could that be? Grandpa Luo is the most interesting, impossible to be boring.”
By the side, Tang Ran, who was slowly getting up with her blind cane, paused and spoke sincerely: “Bye Grandpa….. Happy birthday.”
Being reminded of this, the old master suddenly remembered, “Xiao Ran, your 16th birthday is coming up, right?”
Tang Ran stopped unexpectedly, “Mhm.”
The old master said, “I bought you a birthday present from abroad, a bionic robot. I’ve sent it to the laboratory to study the functions and possible flaws. In a couple of days, have Luo Zhan pick you up to see the gift, okay? If there’s no problem, bring it home.”
Tang Ran and Tang Luoqian both froze.
When she came back to her senses, Tang Luoqian looked at Tang Ran with some indignation. She didn’t let out any anger because the old master and Luo Zhan were present, but her expression was still unsightly.
The old man naturally sensed it and frowned slightly, but didn’t say anything.
Tang Ran froze for a while before she came back to her senses, hesitating for a few seconds before speaking honestly: “But it’s my first time meeting you, so I shouldn’t accept your gift.”
“What’s wrong with that? It was originally bought for you, and no one else can use it.”
“……”
Tang Ran had her eyes slightly closed, her heart torn.
If it were something else, she would probably insist on refusing it, but a bionic robot…..
It was probably like a “Luoluo” that she could touch, that could actually accompany her, right?
Tang Ran heard her heart beat a little faster. After a long silence, the little girl blushed slightly, her voice confessing: “I like artificial intelligence very much, so I want to accept this gift.”
The old master was amused by her, “It was meant for you.”
The girl held the blind cane self-consciously but happily, the corners of her eyes curved down lightly, “Thank you grandpa.”
“……”
The old man froze.
This smile didn’t show the most beautiful eyes, but so sincere that there was no way not to be touched.
After a long time, he sighed softly, “You’re welcome, you’re welcome. Luo Zhan,” The old man looked up with a complex gaze, “Remember to pick up Xiao Ran to see the bionic robot before next week, got it?”
Luo Zhan was about to nod his head.
Just to hear the little girl speak, “Grandpa, don’t bother Luo Zhan…. brother1.”
The old man was helpless, “How could it be a bother, we’ll be one family in the future. Moreover, without having him lead, could you manage it by yourself?”
Tang Ran hesitated for a few seconds and suddenly thought of something.
She cautiously asked, “Then, can you let brother Luo Xiu send me there?”
Luo Zhan: “……”
Luo Zhan: “?”

Hi, sorry for the messed up links before. I didn’t notice until a few days passed so I went through and fixed them but I might’ve missed a few so lmk if any lead to nowhere. This applies for the future too, please comment or something to inform me if a link doesn’t work!
1 Older brother (ge) and other ‘titles’ like young master (shaoye), miss (xiaojie), etc are all added after a person’s name unlike in English. That’s why it looks so awkward here.
2 For those unaware, putting a green hat on someone was cuckolding them. He’s basically saying he cuckolded himself (since he made her like him as fake Luo Xiu over him as real him).
