Chapter 3

"Roar! Hurry up!" the werewolf growled impatiently.

Tang San's mother's body trembled, and tears streamed down her face. The werewolf, however, paid no heed to her, stepping forward and, with one swift motion, scooped up the swaddled Tang San with his large, clawed hand.

"My child, my child!" the woman wailed loudly, but at that moment, she did not try to snatch her child back. Instead, she covered Tang San with the only tattered blanket in the room.

In that instant, Tang San felt as if his heart had been tightly gripped. Since coming to this world, he experienced heartache for the first time.

Tang San's mother suddenly noticed that the small face turned toward her. The infant, despite the sudden change, did not cry; the once lifeless eyes suddenly became bright.

Seeing the sudden change in her child's eyes, Tang San's mother was momentarily stunned, her actions pausing for a moment.

"Get out of the way!" the werewolf, impatient, shoved her, sending her sprawling onto a pile of straw. Then, he walked out, holding Tang San's small body in one hand.

It was very cold outside, with a biting wind. Whether out of kindness or fear that Tang San might die, the werewolf ultimately covered him with the tattered blanket.

Everything before his eyes turned dark, and the cold wind was temporarily blocked. Apart from some difficulty breathing, he would not die immediately.

Tang San tried to remain calm. In his heart, he was praying.

Don't die, the mother of this world, don't die. As long as I can survive, I will definitely find you and make sure you live well. Wait for me.

Calmly, his first judgment was that this werewolf was not taking him to be food.

This judgment was based on a simple observation. One, the two ounces of flesh on his body were certainly not worth eating compared to his mother in this world. Two, the werewolf ultimately covered him with the blanket to prevent him from freezing to death. If he were just food, who would care if he died? Of course, it was also possible they wanted him alive.

However, no matter how calm he was, what could a one-month-old child do? He could only... go with the flow.

Faintly, he could hear the wind howling. The outside world seemed to have no other sounds.

This world was called the Spirit Continent. This was Tang San's judgment after barely learning some language.

As he had expected, humans in this world were slaves, objects of servitude. Even among slaves, they were the lowest of the low. Because human bodies were too weak and seemed to have no use.

This did not rule out the possibility that humans could be food in this world. The lowest slaves being used as food was normal.

As for other information, there was none yet. After all, his mother and other humans had very little interaction.

A month had passed, and he had not seen his father, who he assumed was in no good condition.

How tragic! Too tragic! Even if starting from zero, give me a chance to start from zero. Tang San silently lamented in his heart.

He had thought about the difficulties of reincarnation, but he never imagined it would be so hard.

Finally, the werewolf seemed to stop. Tang San faintly heard him say something, but with the blanket in between and his limited understanding of the language, he did not hear clearly. Then he felt himself being handed over.

When the blanket was lifted, Tang San instinctively curled up his body. But the cold wind he expected did not come. Instead, a warm sensation enveloped him, along with some unpleasant odors.

But this was the first time he felt warmth all over since his birth. He opened his eyes and looked carefully.

"Another little monkey-like child. Hmph, hmph." A muffled voice sounded.

Then Tang San saw a large face come close to him. This... this is a pig's head?

Yes, a large pig's head, at least in his understanding. The pig's head came close and looked at him, then carried him inside.

"Wah, wah, wah!" cries echoed from time to time.

Tang San realized that he was not the only child here.

Then he was placed in a soft pile of straw, or what he thought was a nest.

The cries around him grew louder.

Then a shadow loomed over him, and something pinched his mouth. His mouth opened, and a large, soft, sweet, and slightly pungent object was pushed into it.

The warm milk rushed into his throat, and Tang San's eyes instantly widened, not out of emotion but almost choking.

If his birth mother's milk was a gentle stream, this was like the Yangtze River!

To save himself, he instinctively closed his toothless gums, pressing down on the large object to slow the flow of milk. Only then did he manage to swallow some.

He took a deep breath, adjusting his weak body. Finally, he caught his breath.

Then he focused on drinking.

Nutrition! This rare nutrition! Is this a glimmer of hope? Whether it was human milk or pig milk, having something to eat was satisfying.

However, his satisfaction did not last long. The large shadow left. He was a bit full but still wanted to eat more. This was his first full meal in this world.

After eating, his spirits naturally improved a bit, allowing him to observe his surroundings.

This was a house, with straw on the ground. In his weak state, he could only turn his head to look; he could not even roll over. So he could only see a glimpse.

Next to him were three or four children, all about his age, with similar thin and weak bodies. They all lay on a soft bed of straw. The room was warm, at least not cold. The pig mother who had just fed him seemed to have fed them all.

This feeling was very much like being raised as livestock.

Uniformly raised slaves? Tang San silently consoled himself. At least he was not food, which was already a good thing. After this meal, he finally felt that he had a chance to survive.

Life went on like this.

The pig mother would come to feed them three times a day.

At first, Tang San was not used to the excessive milk, but he quickly adjusted. Every time the pig mother fed him, he tried to drink as much as possible. Nutrition was needed for a strong body. A strong body meant he could grow and mature, which would give him the possibility of cultivation. Cultivation would make him powerful, and only then could he control his own destiny!

No matter what kind of world this was, the most important thing was to survive.

By the time he had been in this world for a hundred days, he was noticeably plumper and whiter than the other children.

Here, there seemed to be more than one pig mother, and there were many children. After a hundred days of eating and drinking, Tang San could roll over and see more. From the conversations between the pig mothers, he learned more about the language and the world.

The Spirit Continent was vast, so vast that the pig mothers could not describe it. They were in a small town in the northeastern part of the Spirit Continent, under the rule of a werewolf noble.

The world was called the Spirit Continent because it was primarily ruled by two races: the demon race and the spirit race, collectively known as the spirits.

Today, the serial begins, with another update at 5 PM. This series will be different from the previous Douluo series, with no soul rings or soul beasts. It will have new settings and a new world background. Please stay tuned, as it will get better and better.
