Chapter 4 of 100
Chapter 4
6 min read1,520 words
The small town where they lived was known as Wind Wolf Town. Both the demon and the fairy races were supposed to be extremely powerful, at least that was what the pig mothers implied.
And humans in this world were the lowest of slaves. These children were all raised together and then educated to serve as slaves for the nobles. In short, he was now the property of the great Wind Wolf of Wind Wolf Town, and the least valuable kind at that.
The number of humans should not be small, as could be inferred from the pig mothers' words. The only redeeming quality of humans was their reproductive ability. The reproductive ability of the demon and fairy races was relatively poor, which was the basis for the survival of humans.
The weakness of humans in this world was that they were too frail. In the eyes of the demon and fairy races, humans could not even do heavy labor. However, humans were somewhat smarter than other slave races and could perform more delicate tasks. Another reason was that for some demons and fairies, human flesh was tender and made for better food.
Slaves, food...
It seemed that things could not get any worse!
Tang San could only silently comfort himself that since things were already so bad, any good changes in the future would bring a sense of happiness.
His only concern now was where his wife would be reincarnated and whether she would also suffer like him.
It had to be said that the pig mothers' milk was much more nutritious than Tang San's biological mother's. At least he could eat his fill.
By the time he was about half a year old, Tang San felt that his physical condition was finally on par with that of normal human children in the original world.
This physical state also made him look noticeably fatter than the other emaciated children around him. At half a year old, he was just a bit fatter. This also made the pig mothers favor him more. In this world, it seemed that strength was considered beautiful.
However, at half a year old, there was no more milk to drink. Instead, a kind of porridge-like substance was thrown into a small basin for the children to eat. They had to use their hands to scoop it up. How much they ate depended on how much they could grab.
Most of the children couldn't even sit up. The pig mothers often had to patiently feed them with a spoon.
At this time, Tang San became even more favored by the pig mothers, as he could already use his small hands to scoop food from the basin.
So, naturally, he ate a bit more, and occasionally he would even be rewarded with a drink of milk.
He didn't know what he was eating, but as long as it was enough to fill his stomach, it was fine.
After eating his fill, Tang San lay in the grass nest and suddenly felt like laughing. He suddenly remembered a phrase his good friend often said in his previous life: "Even in a grass nest, there can be a golden phoenix!"
He was also growing up in a grass nest. He wondered what his companions would think if they knew.
His thoughts flashed by, and Tang San closed his eyes, quietly pulling some straw over himself for warmth. Then he silently used his mind to guide his body's bloodline.
This was not his first reincarnation. The world he was reborn into last time was called the Douluo Continent. Compared to that, this time was clearly much more miserable. But at least he now had a chance to survive. So, he had to work hard to become stronger.
The Xuantian Gong was the most basic cultivation technique he practiced in his youth. It was balanced and harmonious. There was nothing more suitable for laying the foundation than this.
In his last reincarnation, he had already cultivated the first level of Xuantian Gong by the age of six, which laid the foundation for his later achievement as a Divine King.
In this life, his understanding of Xuantian Gong was clearly much deeper than in his last reincarnation. The only problem was that this body was too frail, and he could only make progress bit by bit.
At half a year old, he couldn't really do much, and it wasn't because of reincarnation that he could cultivate as an infant. His young body's meridians were not yet fully developed, and even with Xuantian Gong, he couldn't truly circulate it. The only thing he could do was to use the method of Xuantian Gong, along with a thread of his divine consciousness, to勉强去感受空气中的天地灵气,悄无声息地吸收一些,尝试滋养自己的身体。

The initial attempt to feel the spiritual energy in the air and quietly absorb a bit to nourish his body began a few days ago. At half a year old, his body was in a relatively good condition, though not strong, it was no longer in a state of constant weakness and facing life-threatening situations.
When Tang San first tried to use his divine consciousness to sense the world, he was surprised to find that in this world where humans were treated like grass, the spiritual energy was shockingly abundant.
Wind Wolf Town was not a treasure land; it was just an ordinary demon territory. Yet, when he sensed the world, he clearly felt that the spiritual energy here was extremely abundant and pure. This was much more abundant than the Douluo Continent where he was reborn last time. Even the evolved Douluo Planet might not have such abundant spiritual energy.
Before he started his exploration, his heart was conflicted and worried, especially fearing that this was an era without any spiritual energy or elemental energy. Without these, it would be impossible to cultivate, and with humans being slaves, their future would be precarious. If his cultivation progress was pitifully slow, he would be easily crushed by the powerful demons and fairies.
The abundant spiritual energy gave Tang San some relief. This was the first good news he received since coming to this world. At least, with this abundant spiritual energy, once he could start cultivating, it would be much easier.
Every day, he absorbed a little bit, quietly improving his body from within, not on the surface. On the surface, he was just a bit more spirited than the other children, but still relatively thin.
As the days passed, the children gradually learned to speak. About a quarter of the children quietly died.
There were no medical facilities here; there was only food. No one taught them anything. They had to learn to speak on their own.
At one year old, when they could barely walk, they were sent to another place, managed by a strict pig demon. The floor was covered with straw, and the wooden house was barely warm. In a 200 square meter room, 200 human children were sent there. The amount of food, however, was only enough for 150 children.
From the conversations between the pig demon and the wolf demon, Tang San understood that the children who could compete for food and were physically stronger would last longer as slaves. Those who were weaker were not worth wasting food on.
Besides feeling sorrow for the humans in this world and planting a seed of resistance in his heart, there was nothing he could do at one year old.
With the nourishment from the spiritual energy, Tang San's body was naturally much stronger than that of his peers. However, he only took the food his body needed and left the rest for others. He could only watch helplessly as the weakest children were taken away, barely alive, and do nothing.
Every night, he would absorb spiritual energy and quietly ponder.
After a year in this world, seeing the miserable lives of humans, his heart was anxious and pained. He dared not think about what would happen if his reincarnated wife was also living a similar life, perhaps one of the children taken away, barely alive. After all, she was truly reincarnated and would forget everything from her past life.
Whenever he thought about this, his anger towards this world grew stronger. Why were humans so weak in this world? Xiao Wu, where are you?
He really wanted to grow up quickly and become strong. Then he could go find his Xiao Wu.
She must still be alive! She must be living well!
