Chapter 1

5 min read1,155 words

The tall trees were so dense that even sunlight could not penetrate, and in this vast forest, all that could be seen was darkness.

Deep in the forest, there was a small lake, its water so clear that the bottom could be seen, as if it were a deep blue crystal. However, the water level was far from the shore, and the threat of drying up seemed imminent.

The breath of life rippled through the lake water, but it was not strong, and even seemed somewhat weak.

Standing by the lake was a person.

He wore a long black robe, looking to be in his forties, with a handsome and resolute face. A strand of golden hair fell over one side of his forehead.

He stood there, his eyes somewhat vacant, and his body exuded a sense of dejection.

Not far from him, there were other people, tall and short, fat and thin, with various appearances. But everyone's eyes were dim.

"Beast God," a woman in a light green dress quietly approached the man in black and said respectfully.

The man in black, called Beast God, trembled all over, a bitter smile appearing at the corner of his mouth. "Beast God? Now, among us soul beasts, only these few remain. Who am I a god to?"

The woman in green was silent for a moment before she whispered, "Ten thousand years have passed since Huo Yuhao founded the Spirit Tower organization. The Spirit Tower still exists, but are we finally going to face extinction?"

Beast God said bitterly, "The power of humans has made it impossible for us to resist. The Star Dou Great Forest is now only this last piece of pure land."

"Yes..." The woman in green was about to say more.

Suddenly, the man called Beast God lifted his head, his eyes shooting out two beams of golden light. The terrifying aura that erupted in that instant seemed to make the entire world tremble.

"Hum..." The ground beneath their feet trembled slightly, and then the lake water in front of them began to bubble as if it were boiling. The bubbles rose rapidly, and the frequency of the ground's tremors intensified.

"What's happening? Are the humans here?" the woman in green exclaimed.

"Fight them!" a towering, muscular man roared, transforming into a giant bear over thirty meters tall, his body radiating a dark golden glow.

"Lord Bear, calm down. It's not the humans," Beast God shouted loudly, a look of indescribable joy appearing on his previously dim face.

"Over, over, over..." A deep voice echoed through the forest without warning. The voice seemed to come from all directions, so deep that it was impossible to tell if it was male or female.

"Boom—" The ground cracked, and the entire forest shook violently. The remaining water in the small lake rushed in, revealing the lake bottom in an instant.

"Bang—" A silver light suddenly surged from the crack in the ground, then struck the shore heavily.

It was a massive claw, entirely silver, covered with hexagonal silver scales. Each scale refracted a strange light, and the powerful impact carried an overwhelming force that made all living beings kneel in reverence.

The joy in Beast God's eyes intensified. He took a step forward, knelt on one knee, and said respectfully, "Welcome, Lord."

The ground exploded instantly, the powerful aura even causing the thirty-meter-tall giant bear to be thrown out. A massive figure over a hundred meters long suddenly rose into the air and then landed heavily on the ground.

The giant trees were uprooted, and the humans standing around them all transformed into giant beasts. But in the presence of the silver behemoth, they could only prostrate themselves on the ground.

"It's dead, but I am still alive," the deep voice roared, yet it seemed to carry a deep sorrow. "Despicable humans, are you about to exterminate us? Since I have awakened, the day of their destruction is near."

The dazzling silver light made all the giant soul beasts unable to look directly. They could only cower there, trembling and rejoicing.

Beast God said urgently, "Lord, the humans have become too powerful. Even their top soul conductor mechs, I cannot resist for long. Humans have used the power of technology to make us unable to resist."

The massive silver body slowly lowered its head, and the deep voice echoed in the no longer vast forest. "To destroy them, we must first understand them. Follow me. Our world is about to be completely destroyed by them, so we must conquer their world."

The massive figure slowly took a step, moving toward the edge of the forest. Under the cover of the giant tree canopies, in the dim light, its massive body gradually shrank, and as it disappeared from sight, it had transformed into human form.
