Chapter 27: Bimoye's Strength

7 min read1,626 words

In a private room of a high-end restaurant on campus, Ursula, Bimoye, and Celt were enjoying a luxurious lunch that most people could not afford.

Celt swirled the glass of red wine in front of him and drank it in one gulp.

Ursula glanced at the cold Bimoye and sighed, "Eating with you is still so dull."

"Then why did you call him?" Celt kept drinking glass after glass.

Ursula asked, "Celt, how's it going on your side?"

"What?"

"What else could it be?" Ursula said, "Can't you stop talking nonsense?"

Celt put down the wine bottle and glass, "You mean the studies, right? It's child's play. I really don't understand why this guy wants to come here. He could get the same combat training at home. In our families, which one doesn't have a battle-hardened general?"

"You're right, Celt. It's more interesting to fight against those batches of officers. Playing with these little kids here is really no fun."

Bimoye said coldly, "Are you two done yet? You're so annoying."

"Tch, this guy is upset again." Ursula raised her glass, "Come, Celt, let's drink." The two of them finished their glasses and then drank from the bottles, just like street thugs.

Bimoye also picked up his glass and took a sip.

Celt asked, "Bimoye, I want to ask you, what level are you at now? Although you're usually not willing to talk about your strength, I'm still very curious. For the sake of our long friendship, you have to tell us."

"Right, right," Ursula said, "We know we can't match you, but we still don't know what level you're at. You mainly focus on magic, right? What level of magician are you?"

Bimoye sat straight in the middle of the sofa and slowly put down his glass, "Me? My current goal is to become a Red Robe."

Ursula almost choked on her drink, pounding her chest and coughing for a long time, unable to speak.

"Red, Red Robe...!" Celt stood up in shock, "You're not joking, right?"

Bimoye gave him a cold look and said nothing.

Ursula finally stopped coughing and pointed at Bimoye, "This guy... cough... this guy always likes to shock people. ...cough... cough..."

Celt, seeing that he wasn't joking, and knowing that he never joked, said, "Red Robe? No way, are you a monster? Hey, you're only 14 years old! Want to become a Red Robe magician? Impossible, how could that be?"

"Already 14 years old," Bimoye said in a cold voice, "Life has passed by so much without me noticing. If I don't seize the remaining time, how can I surpass my predecessors? And now, wasting my life on trivial matters like drinking and chatting is truly a sin against heaven." He stood up, took his coat, and left.

Ursula and Celt were left there in shock, "This guy... this guy is definitely a monster!"

"Um...?" Around 8:30 PM, Bingzhiye wandered around, learning more about the college. On his way back to the dorm, he saw Carol following a security guard, wondering if she had done something wrong.

Passing by a small pizza shop below the dorm, he felt a bit hungry. During dinner, Vien and Luo had argued over a trivial matter, spilling his food tray.

"Student, would you like a pizza?" The pizza shop owner was busy in a small, simple stall.

"Um, one slice. Hey, uncle," Bingzhiye saw weapons in the shop and asked, "What's that for? Are there bad people in the college?"

"Um? Oh," the pizza owner said, "No. I'm still studying here, hehe. It's just that... there are many expenses at home, so I asked them to let me open this pizza shop to earn some money."

Bingzhiye looked up at him, who was around 30 years old, "Still studying!"

"Yes," the pizza owner said, packing the pizza, "I'm a mid-level warrior. Unlike mages and knights, it's hard to find a good job. You know, the warrior profession is the hardest to train in, and it's not valued by others. Mages, knights, and warlocks, although their situations are similar, can still earn money by working for the magic guild or receiving an annual subsidy of 50,200 gold coins from the empire, even if it's not much, it's better than nothing."

Bingzhiye listened to his endless complaints and asked, "Why don't you go to the mercenary guild and find some suitable jobs? As a warrior, besides studying, it's more important to strengthen your combat awareness through constant battles."

The pizza owner waved his finger and smiled, "You're too young to understand. It's the pressure of life. A family needs a lot of money to support. Although mercenary tasks can earn a living, they are too unstable. If I go, I might not come back, and I have responsibilities to my family. It's better to run this pizza shop, with good and stable income. My son is also studying at Kulandtin, and the annual tuition of 550 gold coins is not a small amount."

"Tuition?"

The pizza owner said, "You mean the college's free tuition system? This system is both good and bad. Although it waives tuition, it requires a significant amount of time to work for the college. I was like that when I was young, and now I'm still just a mid-level warrior. I don't want my son to follow my path; he is my hope. Here, your pizza, 13 silver coins."

"Quite expensive," Bingzhiye paid and took the hot pizza box.

The pizza owner smiled, "It is a bit expensive, but it's very delicious. Hope to see you again."

Bingzhiye walked a few steps and suddenly turned back, "Uncle, you still don't understand anything."

"Huh?" The pizza owner didn't understand what he meant.

"A caged rabbit can never escape the wolf's pursuit. To survive, it must rely on its own legs to run. Only those who have truly experienced the hardships of life know what is most precious. Hey, reading a whole day might not be better than reading half a day. This is exactly the two teaching methods of Kulandtin. Half-study, half-work, it's good for you too." Bingzhiye slowly walked towards the dorm.

The pizza owner stared at him as he disappeared into the darkness, angry, "Tch, what does a kid know? Acting like he's experienced a lot. If you were the principal of Kulandtin, I'd listen to you. Damn, kids these days are getting more and more out of hand!"

Bingzhiye pushed open the door to his dorm, "Hey, I have something to eat."

Vien, who was lying on the bed reading, jumped up, "Ha, pizza! How did you know I wanted this?"

Bingzhiye looked around the room, "Where's Luo?"

"He? I don't know, haven't seen him since dinner." Vien opened the box, grabbed a slice, and started eating, "I don't know where Carol went either. It's good they're not here, hehe, I can eat more. Is that okay, Bingzhiye?"

"Ah, go ahead and eat," Bingzhiye sat down, thinking he might have gone to work, as he was also a part-time student.

Vien ate very quickly, and in no time, he had eaten half of the pizza divided into eight pieces.

Bingzhiye asked while eating, "Vien, you're also studying the warrior path, right?"

"Um, yeah," Vien's mouth was full, and he couldn't speak clearly.

Bingzhiye said, "Do you find it very hard to study?"

"Uh... um..." Vien choked on the food, pounding his chest, but it didn't help. Finally, he drank a lot of water and swallowed it, breathing a sigh of relief, "Phew, almost died! What did you say?"

A drop of sweat appeared on Bingzhiye's forehead, "I said, the growth of a warrior is very hard."

Vien pouted and smiled, "Ha, you know that well. Warriors are the hardest to grow among all professions. It's a completely different field from mages, knights, and warlocks. The only thing they have in common is that they all need to study combat skills. Mages need combat skills to survive in close combat on the battlefield, while the other three professions need them for battle. But unlike the other three, which require magic, warriors don't need it at all!"

Bingzhiye listened quietly, knowing all this himself.

"You seem very interested in warriors?" Vien smiled, "If you want to know more, come to class with me tomorrow."

Bingzhiye was taken aback, "Tomorrow?"

"Um," Vien said, "Don't you have a combat skills class tomorrow? You're a mage, so it doesn't matter if you skip one class. What do you say, want to come with me? Let me show you what true warrior strength is!"

"No, let's skip it for tomorrow," Bingzhiye didn't want to get into trouble over such a matter; he still needed to stay in the college for now, "There will be other opportunities."

Vien was a bit disappointed, "Hmm, also, you're a mage, so you just need to understand warriors, no need to take classes to know everything. Well, it's getting late, I should take a shower and go to bed."

After Vien took a shower, Bingzhiye also took one. Around 9 PM, Carol finally returned, and by then, Vien was already fast asleep on the bed.

Carol took a 30-minute shower and came out, drying her hair with a towel, smiling, "It's already past 10 PM, aren't you going to sleep? Don't stay up late again like yesterday; it's bad for your skin."

"I'm waiting for Luo."

"What are you waiting for him?" Carol looked at Luo's bed, "Yeah, it's so late, why hasn't he come back?"

"I need to talk to him."

"Is that so..." Carol was speaking when the door suddenly opened, "Speak of the devil, he's back."
