Chapter 67: The Enchanting Lizard

Under the night sky, a crescent moon was embroidered on the star-studded velvet. In the small forest, a few people sat on tree trunks covered with moss and vines, surrounding a fire in silence.
The flickering flames cast an uncertain light on their faces, making them appear moody. Irina could no longer bear the oppressive silence and tugged at Luo's sleeve, signaling that she wanted to talk elsewhere.
Luo got up and said to Hasek Johnson, "Teacher, I'll go gather some firewood over there."
"I'll go too," Irina quickly stood up.
Johnson glanced at them and said, "Be careful." The atmosphere of the past few days had dampened his spirits, making him reluctant to speak.
Luo picked up the 'Crimson Lotus' and left with Irina.
Johnson threw two sticks into the fire; the pile of wood beside him would last for two days.
The two held hands and strolled through the forest. Irina asked as they walked, "I wonder where they are?"
"They must be hundreds of miles away. I hope nothing happens to them."
"It won't," Irina said, but she herself was unsure. "It shouldn't... " She had experienced the hardships of the past few days, facing danger multiple times, and each time, she saw Luo struggling, but he always held on with his indomitable spirit until the end.
She didn't know how they were assigned, but they ended up with three new students. Apart from herself, Celt and Hiber were both very strong, and because of this, Luo was even more determined not to be inferior to them. During battles, they often fought like mad, especially Hiber and Luo, who would often end up fighting each other. It took great effort for the teacher to separate them, but neither would speak afterward. This awkward atmosphere continued until today, the fifth day.
"Luo."
"Hmm?"
"Are you... are you hungry?"
Luo laughed, "We just had dinner, how could I be hungry?"
"Yes, yes, hehe, I forgot..." Irina laughed awkwardly, lowered her head, and took a few deep breaths, her face flushed.
Luo felt her hand gripping his tighter.
"Luo... Luo..."
"What is it?" Luo asked with a smile.
Irina looked up at him, appearing very nervous. After a long while, she said, "Nothing... nothing..."
Luo smiled and continued walking, pulling her along.
After a while, Irina said again, "Luo, you... you have a bug on you. I, I... I'll help you get it off." As she said this, Irina felt as if she was suffocating, her mind so blocked that she forgot how to breathe. She felt dizzy and confused, not knowing what she was thinking, and trembled as she reached out to touch Luo's shoulder, but did nothing out of fear.
Luo suddenly hugged her tightly and kissed her on the lips.
Irina's body stiffened, her mind blank, and she felt lost, not knowing what was happening.
Luo's chest pressed against hers, and she could feel her heart pounding. He himself was no different, and the two seemed to forget everything as they kissed.
After a while, Luo couldn't help but start unbuttoning her blouse. "Don't..." Irina said, but she undid her own buttons. Luo caressed her breasts, and suddenly, both of them froze, the strange touch and sensation bringing them back to reality.
Irina quickly pushed Luo away and hurriedly fastened her bra and blouse. Luo stared at his hand, momentarily forgetting to react. Irina clutched her chest, frightened, "How could this happen? How could this happen?"
Suddenly, Johnson's voice came from a distance, "Are you dressed properly? I'm coming over."
Luo came to his senses, slapped himself twice, and repeatedly apologized to Irina.
After a while, the sound of footsteps approached, and Johnson walked over. Seeing their situation, he knew his suspicions were correct. He held up a pink lizard, "This isn't your fault. You were influenced by the special scent emitted by this enchanting lizard. Those who smell this scent become infatuated when with the opposite sex. The forest in Dattam often has these lizards."
"O-Oh, so that's it..." Both of them thought it was no wonder they had acted so strangely, as they had indeed smelled a faint fragrance.
Johnson said, "Fortunately, I also smelled this scent and came over when I felt something was wrong. It seems I arrived just in time; you haven't caused any trouble yet."
Thinking about what had just happened, both of them blushed. Luo, worried that the teacher might withdraw his help, asked, "Then..."
Johnson raised his hand to stop him, "The scent of this lizard isn't directly dangerous, it just makes you do what adults want to do. This time, it's an exception. If you get affected again, I'll help you, but it will count as a failure in your exam."
"Thank you, teacher."
"Thank you, teacher."
"Since you're a couple, continue your romance. If you want to do that again, please go further away so we don't hear you." Johnson waved and turned to leave.
Both of them were extremely embarrassed, feeling very uncomfortable.
Luo lifted his hand, "Just now..."
"What are you trying to do?" Irina took a step back, staring at him like he was a pervert.
"I didn't mean it that way, I just wanted to say..." Luo stepped forward to explain, but his raised hand accidentally touched her chest again.
Both of them looked at each other in shock, frozen in place...
"Pervert, pervert, pervert, pervert, pervert, pervert, pervert, pervert..." The forest echoed with the sound of slaps, making Luo's eyes see stars, and he lost his sense of direction.
After a long while, Luo, who had just recovered, was suddenly hugged by Irina, and her lips pressed against his again.
Irina left his lips, her rosy cheeks lowered, not daring to look at Luo.
Luo didn't know what to do, feeling dazed and not knowing what to say. After some thought, he said, "We... we should go further away."
Irina was startled, looking at Luo in surprise, and then stammered, "Luo... although I like you, we're not adults yet. That kind of thing... we should wait until we're married, okay?"
"No, no." Luo realized he had said the wrong thing and quickly explained, "I meant that there might be more of those 'enchanting lizards' here. We should go outside the forest to talk."
Irina patted her chest, breathing heavily, "You scared me, I thought you wanted to..."
"That kind of thing, of course, should wait until we're 16 and married! Irina, what are you thinking?"
"You're the one thinking too much! Idiot, you can't even speak properly." Irina gave him a light punch.
Luo rubbed his head and ran out of the forest with her, laughing and playing.
The cicadas continued to chirp in the summer night, and the crickets joined in, creating a harmonious sound. Johnson lay on a blanket in the open field, gazing at the stars, and smiled faintly, "Young people don't know the taste of sorrow. This must be their midsummer night's dream."
Hiber said, "It's already autumn, teacher."
Johnson laughed, "It's rare for you to speak. If you don't talk, your mouth will stink."
Hiber said, "Teacher, your teeth are so white, do you use black toothpaste?"
"Brat, you dare to tease me." Johnson, who often tanned, had very dark skin: "Forget it, it's rare for you to speak, and I was getting bored. Yes, it's autumn now, but their relationship will soon be in summer."
"Damn Luo, even in this situation, he still has the heart to fall in love!" Hiber, seeing Luo wasn't there, spoke more freely, and also said to Celt, "Hey, say something too."
Celt glanced at him and ignored him.
Hiber said, "I heard you really like that gun of his, and you had a falling out because of it. Just like me, we both have a grudge against him."
"Is that so." Celt didn't speak, but Johnson did, "No wonder the atmosphere between you is so tense. I noticed something, but what exactly happened? Tell me."
"Hmph, teacher, you're so nosy." Hiber, just as he finished speaking, felt the atmosphere in the forest was off, "We're about to sleep, and you won't let us relax. Annoying!"
In the darkness of the forest, dozens of eyes glowed like ghostly lamps...
