Evelyn stood up from the queen's throne and displayed her mature and full figure to Levi, eagerly awaiting his amusing reaction upon hearing her name. Unfortunately, after waiting for a long time, nothing happened as she had expected. Seeing Levi still looking puzzled, she remembered that he had lost his memory.

"Could it be that you've even forgotten my name? I am Evelyn, the true ancestor of vampires, the evil magician known as the 'Dark Evangelist'! This is common knowledge for surviving in this world, so remember it well!"

Evelyn spread her long arms, boasting her fame as if delivering a victorious speech from a queen.

"Vampire? It's my first time seeing one. The rumors are indeed true."

Hearing Levi's response, a smile appeared at the corner of Evelyn's lips. Enjoying the sight of others submitting to her fame was a bad habit she had developed over her long life.

"Is that so? What rumors?"

Pretending not to care, she casually brought it up, but in reality, Evelyn was very eager to hear the rumors that praised her terrifying reputation.

"Isn't it always said that devils have perfect figures? Vampires also have the character for 'devil' in their name, so your figure is indeed devilish."

The words that came out of his mouth were completely different from what she had imagined, nearly causing Evelyn, who was prepared to receive adoration, to fall off the high platform of her throne. She stared intently at Levi standing below the platform, but apart from that annoying smile, she could not detect any other thoughts. Instead, she herself, experiencing emotions other than fear and hatred for the first time, felt a strange, indescribable sensation. Having lived a solitary life for five hundred years since the age of ten, Evelyn did not understand that feeling, which humans call 'warmth.'

"Hmph, strange guy."

Leaving those words behind, Evelyn turned and walked out of the hall, leaving behind the strange and uncomfortable emotions. Yet, they remained in her heart forever.

"Kitty, I made some coffee. Do you want to have some?"

Evelyn, lying on the sofa and lost in her memories, heard a voice from the kitchen.

"Don't call me Kitty!"

"Okay, I'll remember. But every time I see you looking so cute, I can't help it. Who made you not have the body we met with back then?"

Levi placed the coffee on the coffee table and gently stroked Evelyn's golden hair, his favorite pastime when he was bored.

"Hmph!"

Ignoring Levi, Evelyn picked up the cup on the table and slowly savored the slightly bitter fragrance.

The aroma of coffee could make one forget their troubles and also bring back happy memories. Evelyn thought about the fun times when she first met Levi, the first time she experienced the joy of life.

Interacting with others, being recognized by them, and the warmth of care and affection. Despite her age, which was unimaginable for humans, and having had little contact with others, Evelyn was like a blank sheet of paper in many aspects, except for her strong self-protection instinct. And Levi had filled that blank sheet with his own marks.

If only he hadn't seen her true form! Evelyn remembered that night. On the day when vampires were at their weakest, she had let her guard down and, in her fatigue, forgotten to maintain the illusion on herself. The interesting expression on his face when he first saw her true appearance was something Evelyn could never forget.

Unfortunately, from that moment on, Levi always treated her like a delicate little girl. Although Evelyn didn't dislike his gentleness and could feel his equal respect, there was one thing, one thing alone, that she could never accept: the nickname 'Kitty.'

Looking up at Levi's lazy appearance beside her, Evelyn became angrier the more she thought about it. She raised her small fist and hammered it on Levi's head like a little hammer.

"Hey! How can a student use violence against a teacher!"

Levi, who was watching his favorite show, was naturally upset at being interrupted.

"Who asked you to daydream! You're just a tenant!"

Being unreasonable is a privilege of children. Since you treat me like a child, I'll act like one! With this stubborn thought in her mind, Evelyn snatched the remote control from Levi's hand and turned off the TV, asserting her authority as the landlord.

"Vampires are so great, they never grow up and can be as moody as they want."

Using his longer arms to his advantage, Levi easily caught Evelyn's small hand that was trying to evade him. With a gentle pull, her petite body fell into his arms, transforming from landlord to captive.

"Your body is so small and soft, it's really nice."

Since he had missed the best part of the show, Levi decided not to continue watching. He pulled Evelyn tightly into his arms, enjoying the warmth of the girl's blushing face as if hugging a doll.

"What's so great about it! It's because I became this way that I'm bullied by you, this despicable guy!"

Evelyn curled up in Levi's arms like a real kitten, occasionally glancing at the two small holes on his neck. Unfortunately, she had already had a full meal earlier, and another one would not be life-threatening but would still be harmful to her health.

To suppress her craving for blood, Evelyn buried her head in Levi's chest, out of sight. Having spent over a century together, they should have been a couple, but due to Evelyn's appearance, even when they were close, they only looked like intimate siblings. This was Evelyn's greatest frustration.

"Tickles! Get off, you idiot!"

The girl, who was feeling melancholic, suddenly felt an unbearable itch in her waist. Though her body had become immortal, she still retained some human weaknesses. Evelyn jumped up and kicked the man who had attacked her soft spot, glaring at this insensitive fool.

"Sigh, I was just trying to remind you that Chachamaru is coming back soon. You were the one daydreaming just now."

Levi leaned against the wall, rubbing his kicked abdomen, and sighed that vampires were not ordinary people to pursue. If that had been one of his students, he would probably have called an ambulance by now.

"Please don't give such a lame excuse! It's not time for school to end yet, how could she be back now?"

As if to contradict her, the sound of a key unlocking the door followed immediately after Evelyn's words.

"Master, Teacher Levi, I'm back."

With her long green hair and strange ear decorations, the girl named Chachamaru, wearing the uniform of Mahora Junior High, clearly served as a maid in this small house, as evident from her address to Evelyn.

Due to some reason, Evelyn could not use magic, but as the true ancestor of vampires, she still retained most of her instincts. Sensing things through subtle sounds and even human heartbeats and body temperatures was not difficult. Unfortunately, her maid was not human but a high-tech robot that could almost perfectly eliminate all operational noises, including footsteps.

Evelyn was already used to Chachamaru's sudden appearances. What annoyed her was that, as the true ancestor of vampires, she could not match Levi, who seemed like an ordinary human. Apart from his excellent martial arts, spatial magic, and weapons, she knew almost nothing about her closest companion.

"Hey, Chachamaru. School ended early? Great, hurry up and prepare dinner!"

Levi had no time to ponder Evelyn's current thoughts. For him, unless it was a matter of life and death, eating was one of the most important pleasures in his life. Moreover, he hadn't even had lunch due to the interruption by Fujibayashi Kaede. His stomach was almost at its limit, and Chachamaru's return was just in time.

"The first day of school had no important classes, so school ended early. Master and Teacher Levi, please wait a moment, dinner will be ready soon."

Chachamaru casually placed her schoolbag on the dining table, walked into the kitchen, and tied an apron around her waist, leaving the sulking master and the hungry cat in the living room, an odd pair.
