Everyone, Merry Christmas~~~
————————————
"The taste is really good, Chachamaru. Your skills have improved again."
After dinner, Levi and Yewen sat on the sofa, engaged in their daily post-meal activity—watching TV. The green-haired girl Chachamaru, like a true maid, was cleaning the kitchen.
"Thank you for your praise, teacher. I just input some new recipes today and optimized the cooking program."
The long-sleeved top and knee-high socks effectively concealed the robot's characteristic joints. The special devices on her ears would generally only be mistaken for peculiar accessories. If Chachamaru hadn't confessed, few people would be able to tell the difference between her and an ordinary person from her appearance and behavior.
One piece of evidence is that in the class Chachamaru attends at Mahora, none of her classmates seem to know that she is a robot.
Levi has never had a deep understanding of technology.
To him, a language teacher at the school, highly advanced technology is no different from mysterious magic. Just take the mechanical maid in his house; understanding her internal structure and complex program settings would be more difficult than learning Yewen's advanced magic.
However, he does have some understanding of the destruction that this level of technology can cause. Don't be fooled by the current image of a girl cleaning the kitchen; if such 'maids' could be mass-produced in sufficient numbers, eliminating the army of certain countries would be a piece of cake. Fortunately, the technology on Earth is still far from this level, even the so-called most technologically advanced Academy City is still a long way off.
"What kind of look is that! As the master, how could I be inferior to a servant! I just don't want to do it. If I did, it would definitely shock you!"
Levi, thinking about the terrifying technology of the girl who created Chachamaru, stared blankly with wide eyes. He didn't expect that the small vampire beside him would misunderstand, thinking he was mocking her incompetence.
"I was just marveling at the convenience of robots."
He hurriedly patted Yewen's long hair, like soothing a mischievous child, to calm the bomb about to explode beside him.
"Feeling more comfortable after dinner or some exercise? Yewen, I'm going for a walk and will be back soon."
"Going for a walk? To find your cute female students, right?"
Yewen, well aware of his lazy nature, was immediately distracted. She didn't believe such an obvious excuse. Although she hadn't been to the second high school for certain reasons, Yewen knew very well that Levi's appearance, combined with his feigned mature and elegant demeanor, had a powerful appeal to teenage girls.
"Ha ha, you look just like the worried wife in the TV show just now. My cute little cat."
"Damn it! If you want to go for a walk, get out of here now!"
Yewen picked up a cushion from the sofa and threw it at Levi, who was about to step out the door.
After closing the door, he heard Yewen's angry voice inside gradually subside. Levi looked up at the starry sky, his smile fading, and with a hopeful expression, he walked towards the large academy on the other side of the forest.
==================
The library of Mahora Academy is very special. This is not just a difference in appearance or decoration. The place known as Library Island is indeed the size of a small island, floating in the sea not far from the main island of the academy, like a satellite.
Moreover, the part visible on the ground is only a small area of the library. It is said that during the last great war, to preserve human culture and serve as a refuge, the towering library building has an unimaginable underground space. Almost no one knows how large it is, and it is said that even the successive principals of Mahora have never explored the entire vast underground library. Perhaps to prevent enemy invasion, the underground library is filled with traps and dangers. This environment has led to Mahora having what is likely a unique club in the world—the Library Exploration Club.
One of the reasons Levi stayed to teach on the academy island is this vast and mysterious library.
Evangeline, the evil sorceress and 'Dark Evangel' known in the magical world, is obediently staying at Mahora because of a strange curse placed on her. This curse does not harm Evangeline's body but has a special effect—sealing her magic and requiring her to be a regular student at Mahora until the curse ends.
This curse, even the vampire progenitor who is proficient in magic, cannot remove. Levi, a layman, has no way to deal with it. After searching everywhere and failing to find the person who cast the curse, Levi placed his hopes in this library, said to contain all the books in the world.
After navigating the maze-like long path and avoiding countless traps, what appeared before Levi was a huge stone door guarded by a mythological creature—a flying dragon.
"Open the door, Al. I've already adjusted my magic to the optimal state as you said."
Levi ignored the massive creature and walked straight to the door. The dragon, acting as the guardian, made no move to stop him, as if it didn't see Levi, and was sleeping with its head drooping against the wall, openly neglecting its duty.
The stone door slowly opened, and through the gap, a scene that would astonish anyone seeing it for the first time could be seen. Towering ancient trees, cascading waterfalls, and misty clouds formed a beautiful floating garden, suspended in a vast hollow.
The owner of this garden, a man covered in a long robe—Albireo Imma, stood at the top of the stairs to welcome the guest.
"Levi, as I said, please call me Gandalfr Santas."
Ever since coming to this world and tasting a delicious fast-food chicken restaurant, Al has been fond of this name, which Levi finds extremely ridiculous.
"Next time, is the summoning array ready?"
"Of course. Although you said it's an undead, it won't be easy to recover after losing so much blood. You're really good to Katie."
Al led Levi to a platform by the garden. The circular platform had a complex and beautiful dark red pattern drawn on the ground. This was the 'summoning array' Levi mentioned, which appeared somewhat dim and lifeless, with the color of congealed blood.
"No problem, I usually give her snacks, so I'm used to it. What should we do next?"
"Hmm, I'm also very curious to see what the wish-granting machine looks like. It's very rare to see a magic array written in English. It must have been hard for you to find it in the vast sea of books."
The summoning magic is used to break through the spatial barrier and summon things from other worlds, such as low-level familiars for battle. The ritual Levi is about to perform is something even Al, a top-tier magician in the magical world, has never seen. What will be summoned is what he most wants to know.
A low chant came from Al's mouth, and a faint light flowed from Levi's body into the array. With the infusion of magic, the array gradually became brighter. A pale blue light column shot up, tightly enveloping the array and Levi.
In the light column, the ground in front of Levi suddenly began to ripple as if melting. A golden-haired figure slowly emerged.
Al, having finished the chant, looked at the scene with excitement.
Enjoying the joy of completing an unknown magic.
"Servant, Assassin. I have come in response to the summoning. Are you my Master?"
The clear voice, filled with loneliness and hope, reached Levi's ears.
At that moment, he was completely stunned by the appearance of the girl before him.
He didn't know that the decision to summon her to break Evangeline's curse would bring what kind of changes to his ordinary life.
