Chapter 74

"Teacher Levi, the master is no longer angry."
Who says that robots can't have thoughts? Before Levi could even speak, Chachamaru with her long green hair handed him the spare key.
Perhaps in terms of emotional expression, there is still a lack, making her seem less human. But that is just an appearance. Sometimes, Levi even feels that this robot servant, whose thoughts are said to be entirely derived from data calculations, understands the hearts of others better than he does, especially the thoughts of her master, Evangeline.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome, Teacher Levi. The master is just a bit lonely."
Lonely?
Since participating in the Holy Grail War, Levi indeed spent less time with Evangeline. The subsequent arrival of several guests further reduced the already limited private time.
Originally, after returning home from work and having dinner, he would always watch TV or play games with Evangeline on the sofa. Although she always complained of boredom, Levi knew that this girl really enjoyed such simple warmth.
Inserting the key into the lock, Levi, with hands accustomed to holding a gun, pushed open the tightly closed door almost silently. Even so, it seemed to have disturbed the sleeping vampire girl.
Under the large bed and thick blankets, the small, endearing body twitched a couple of times, probably just an instinctive reaction. Evangeline should not have been woken up yet.
Levi quietly took off the clothes he had worn for almost a day and a night, then gently lay down beside Evangeline.
There was still some time before he had to go to work. Levi wrapped his arms around Evangeline's small body, helped her pull the slightly slipped blanket back up, and watched her gradually relaxing sleeping face, waiting for her to wake up.

"Teacher Levi, your package."
Chachamaru handed an envelope to Levi, who was rarely preparing lesson plans in the room.
"Thank you."
Taking the envelope, without even looking at the name and address, Levi knew it must be the tickets sent by Kuroko Shizuo from the Academy City, just from the uniform appearance.
During the day at school, he had thought about going to find Yuki Nagato to tell her that he had obtained the tickets. But then he thought, since the items hadn't arrived yet, although he didn't doubt Kuroko's credibility, there was no guarantee that other links in the process wouldn't have issues. The reputation of the courier industry recently was not good.
Opening the envelope, he took out two beautifully printed tickets and finally felt relieved. He planned to share this good news with Yuki and set a time to meet.
"Ah."
When he picked up his phone, he realized he didn't know the contact information of the alien girl.
What should he do?
Fortunately, he knew a few teachers from the first-year high school department. Yuki seemed to be a student in Class 1-F, and the homeroom teacher of that class was...
"Hello? Sazawo?"
Levi was fairly familiar with Sazawo Yama, the homeroom teacher of Class 1-F, and directly called her.
"Ah, it's Levi? It's rare to receive your call after work. What's up?"
The voice on the phone sounded a bit surprised. After all, Levi's free time was almost always spent with Evangeline, and he rarely participated in activities organized by the teachers. However, Yama was one of the few colleagues who had a good relationship with Levi.
Those who could get along with Levi were generally not the diligent soul engineers. Yama was the same, with a gentle exterior hiding a wild side, which was the reason for their acquaintance.
"Is there a student named Yuki Nagato in your class?"
"Nagato? Yes, she's a quiet girl who doesn't talk much. You actually know her?"
Sazawo was surprised. The alien girl, who was even more reserved than Eve, was probably considered a bit of an oddball by others. From Sazawo's tone, Levi could guess that Yuki didn't have many friends in the class.
"Um, I'm in charge of the student council, and I need to talk to her about something related to the literature club. Do you have her phone number?"
This was the excuse Levi had thought of before making the call. The literature club was almost defunct, and Levi was involved in that area, so it didn't raise Sazawo's suspicion. After a "hold on," he heard the sound of paper rustling, as if she was checking the class register.
"Hello? I found it. Yuki Nagato's mobile phone number is... Do you need her home phone and address?"
"No, just the mobile number is enough. I wouldn't dare overstep my bounds and visit your student's home, hehe."
Holding a pen, Levi wrote down the phone number Sazawo gave him on the open page of his lesson plan, then chatted a bit more, agreeing to talk again when they had free time at school, before hanging up and dialing the newly obtained number.
Beep... beep... beep.
After three precise rings, it seemed someone answered. However, Levi wasn't quite sure, as there was almost no sound from the phone's speaker.
"Hello? Yuki Nagato?"
It shouldn't be a coincidence to encounter a communication issue, so he tried speaking.
"Yes."
The soft, low, and emotionless voice was definitely that of the short-haired girl who, like Chachamaru, lacked outward emotional expression.
"Um, Yuki, can I call you that?"
Levi realized that until now, he had never used anything other than "you" to address this girl.
Due to his profession, he had contact with many students, and using only surnames for those with the same name was too common. For example, calling "Fujibayashi" in the hallway could result in either the older or younger sister responding, which was a troublesome guessing game. So, for those he was more familiar with, Levi would call them by their first names, and for others, he would use their full names to avoid confusion.
He felt that he and Yuki were familiar enough, but it was still best to ask her opinion, as some people were particular about how they were addressed, although he didn't think Yuki was one of them.
"Yes."
"Alright, then Yuki, in the future, when you answer the phone, I hope you can say 'hello' or make some other sound. Otherwise, others might think the phone is broken."
Levi felt that since he had received help from Yuki, he should give something in return. Helping her better integrate into human society would also be convenient for himself, as he had promised to assist her, and they would have many more opportunities to meet.
"What other sounds?"
"Meow, for example."
"Meow."
Levi quickly moved the phone away to avoid his sudden laughter being heard. He had only mentioned it because he and Evangeline had recently watched an anime where a female character often used this catchphrase. He didn't expect the alien girl's serious personality to manifest in this way. The cute sound of a kitten, spoken in Yuki's characteristic tone, unexpectedly made her seem adorable.
"Cough, cough."
Levi finally remembered the reason for calling Yuki and cleared his throat to hide his laughter.
"I've got the tickets, for that concert."
There was no response from the other end, but Levi felt as if he could sense Yuki's emotional change upon hearing the news.
"Tomorrow evening, let's meet at the square outside the venue before the concert starts?"
"Okay."
The immediate response confirmed Levi's guess. The alien girl, who seemed indifferent to everything, was looking forward to the concert.
After setting the time and ending the call with Yuki, Levi didn't put down his phone. He certainly wouldn't forget to thank the person who had helped him get the tickets.
Levi found Kuroko Shizuo's name in his contacts and pressed the call button.
