Allen wasn’t an idiot, he could tell that Lucy was just playing around with him, just like how Aisha did. These kinds of things were like a game to them. Of course, if Lucy took it too far, he wouldn’t mind acting on her words. After all, these things were common for the children from the land who had matured earlier than others.

But Lucy gave Allen a strange feeling.

For example, her skin was as smooth as silk, something rarely seen on the people on land. With the desert winds, hot temperatures and terrible conditions, it was impossible for a woman’s skin to be this smooth. Even with care, they wouldn’t be able to achieve the dewy skin Lucy had, it was something they could only dream of.

Furthermore, Lucy had a strange calmness to her, in the training hall or even now. The Death Ring wasn’t a simple game, it was a cruel fight to the death. While Allen had come to terms with his situation, most people were living everyday to their fullest in fear of their impending fate. On the other hand, he couldn’t feel any sort of panic from Lucy.

It seemed that this was really just a game for her.

Either ways, Allen doubted her information, even if her particulars contained the words “District 17”. It was obvious to Allen that altering information would be easy if the government officials placed their efforts into it.

Allen didn’t plan on having any sorts of physical relationship with such a person.

“Hey, what are you thinking about?” Lucy waved her hands in front of him.

Standing up, he replied, “It’s late, I should go back.”

“It’s still early, don’t rush off.” Lucy grabbed his arm, revealing a sly smile, “Since you’re here, go somewhere with me.”

“Where?” Allen could already feel a headache coming as he stared at Lucy, he couldn’t guess what this girl was thinking at all.

“Aisha has been a bit strange recently.” A serious expression appeared on Lucy’s face as she pointed towards the walls, “Since two days ago, strange noises would come from her room at night. As you know, she’s my teacher and I don’t want anything to happen to her. So just stay here, we can spy on what’s happening to her.”

“Spy? That doesn’t sound too good.” He shook his head.

Lucy shrugged it off, “This is called caring, and also I’m only checking on her, it’s not spying!”

Looking at the clock above them, she smiled, “Get up, move the sofa here.”

Allen had no choice but to do as she said, he pushed the sofa towards the middle and propped it upwards. She then jumped onto the sofa, standing upwards as she leaned towards the vent in her room. Taking down the netting, she climbed into the vent with ease and spoke, “Get up.”

Allen didn’t know whether to laugh or cry as he followed her into the vent.

And with the girl crawling in front of him, Allen watched as she moved within the vents with ease, it was as if it wasn’t her first time inside this place. This strange girl gave Allen headaches, but it was exactly this trait that made her attractive.

Lucy was completely different from the girls he knew, even though he only knew less than ten girls.

“We’re here.” She whispered, “Come here, but be careful about the sound, Aisha is pretty alert.”

Nodding, Allen tried to lighten his steps as he crawled forwards. And as he got closer to the netting, he could hear a strange sound that seemed to be somewhat pained. Shocked, Allen was worried for the teacher. He crawled forwards faster and peeked towards the vent.

Through the vent, he could see the female teacher lying on the ground with her dress pushed downwards, revealing her upper body. Her two hands were holding the ground as she had a pained expression on her face. On top of her, a man was trying his best to pleasure her.

Watching this, Allen’s breathing became heavier as he retreated backwards. However, he was pushed forwards by Lucy, who asked, “What are they doing?”

The vents were rather narrow, and even though they were both children, the tight space left no leeway for their bodies. As Lucy moved forwards, her chest leaned onto Allen’s hand, causing his breathing to become even heavier. The soft sensation on the back of his hand was amplified in his mind as the word “soft” resonated.

“This, is that thing?” As Lucy turned around, he could see the blush on her face. With this sight as a provocation, Allen couldn’t control himself as his hands reached upwards and squeezed her chest. Her mouth widened almost instantly as a hot breath escaped her lips, a sight that further edged Allen on.

A banging sound started to come from beneath him, looking downwards, the sight he saw further fuelled the fire in his body. The man had started to thrust into Aisha’s body as the woman’s face revealed a strange expression, it was a mix of pain and pleasure, interchanging constantly.

With squinted eyes, she glanced towards the vents as she laughed, “Two little mice!”

“What?” The man also looked upwards, but Allen had moved first, pulling Lucy backwards as he turned his gaze away. The two of them quickly left, leaving Aisha to enjoy herself.

“Nothing, faster, give it to me! Take me!”

With this, the man pushed himself further as he explored Aisha’s body.

Returning to the room, they jumped down the vents. It was unclear if he was influenced by the view, Allen couldn’t fully control his limbs. As he jumped onto the couch, he kicked it down accidentally, causing the two of them to fall on top of each other. Luckily, Allen was the first to land, and he was able to cushion Lucy’s fall. But with their two bodies pressed together, the boy’s mind started to wander.

His body jerked upwards suddenly, causing the girl to moan out in pain as the boy flipped on top of her. She gently asked, “What are you doing?”

“You!” He spoke roughly.

Hearing this, Lucy relaxed instead. She even placed her arms around his neck as she smiled, “I’m not against it, but you have to think about it.”

“About?”

“You should know, we have about three weeks before the Death Ring starts. If anything happens now, won’t our relationship change? It’s a competition with only one winner. Are you sure that whatever happens tonight won’t affect your decision for that moment?”

Her words were like a bucket of cold water poured over his head. The girl was right, while they’re still friends now, the moment the competition started, they would become enemies naturally. At that moment, Allen couldn’t guarantee that he would make the right decision because of his choice tonight.

A split second of hesitation then could cost him his life, and he couldn’t lose his life like this without fulfilling his mother’s last wish. Thinking of this, he could feel himself breaking out in cold sweat.

He let go of the girl as he tried to get up, but the girl quickly threw her arms around him again, leaving a gentle kiss on his forehead, “If we’re still alive after the Death Ring, we can do something!”

“That’s not possible.” Allen shook his head.

Fluttering her eyelids, she spoke, “Don’t be too sure, there might be a miracle.”

Allen left doubtfully, and as he returned to the thirteenth floor, Hughton had returned as well. The drunkard was sprawled out on the sofa, and as he watched Allen return, he asked, “What’s with your face?”

“What?”

Hughton pointed at his forehead, “There.”

“I- I hit it.” Allen rushed towards his room, “If there’s nothing else, I’m going to rest first.”

Watching his escaping figure, Hughton rolled his eyes, “What do you mean you hit it when you reek of a woman. Idiot, you can’t even lie, I can’t help but worry for your future.”

In the following week, Allen was like a machine as he completed his daily routines. He completed physical training under the system’s training in the morning, trained his Origin and combat in the afternoon and night was his free time. In the early afternoon and evening was also his leisure time that he spent on the top floor.

His activities included getting closer with Lucy and further solo training. When he trained on the top floor, his scores would be recorded by the committee and counted towards his weekly rankings. Lucy tried to introduce him into her group, but other than the girl named Emily, the other children were all somewhat hostile towards him.

After their first meeting, Allen didn’t force himself to join this group. He was still young, and the pride he had inherited from his mother had made him stubborn. He continued to rank first this week, receiving a vial of strengthening medicine. Even as it was a low ranked drug, it was enough to double the quality of his body.

And just like that, Allen’s scores were undefeated in these two weeks. And as he reaped its benefits, he was also attracting even more enemies. There weren’t any perfect outcomes in the world, while the ranking rewards seemed unfair, the recipients were also pushed to the frontlines of the people’s animosity.

On this day, artificial rain was pouring on Babylon. Hughton was teaching Allen a new combat technique, ”Pivot”, that was also part of the military’s Shida techniques. It was a dodging technique that relied on the tip of the toes to change a person’s direction during battle, it was created for dodging and counter attacking.

But before learning “Pivot”, one had to first grasp the art of balancing and the centre of gravity. And as Allen fell onto the ground for the nth time, a black sedan parked at the entrance of the training centre building.
