Mike sealed the box again, taking the clothes from the corpses and tearing them into strips, he made a rope to tie around the box and pulled it into the forest. After hiding the supplies, he returned to the lake again, to take Mimi’s revolver and her bullets.
He walked around the area, taking one of Cohan’s bayonets and Cora’s dagger as he did before washing the weapons in the lake. Keeping the weapons on him, he headed off to hunt.
A circular metal ball floated above the lake, hovering over Mike’s head. He knew that this was the surveillance equipment that the committee used to record them. After pointing a middle finger towards the metal ball, he left in the opposite direction.
On the two sides of the city, there were two steamships broadcasting the show. Currently, the big screens were showing the middle finger Mike had pointed at them. One of the hosts spoke, “How sinister, Mike. He killed the first four competitors just like that, what a dark horse. I wonder how far this dark horse can run?”
“Alright everyone, let’s look at the performance of everyone else. Let’s see how our wealthy family young master, Allen, is doing.”
“Eh, it seems that the situation isn’t good.”
Allen was indeed in trouble, after he had packed the water and emergency supplies, he was suddenly stopped by a sound from the forest. Looking forwards, he could see a figure running towards him. It was a curly haired boy spinning two tridents in his hands.
Placing the supplies down, Allen welcomed his intruder. His hand reached for Massacre, which was placed on his back, and charged forwards. There was no other exchange between the children, other than the killing intent in their eyes.
In seconds, the two figures collided in the center of the forest. The curly haired body spun the trident in his hands, piercing straight towards Allen’s chest. Within his calculations, Allen probably had a few ways to dodge. But no matter which direction he went, the other trident in his hands would be able to follow.
But he didn’t expect that Allen wouldn’t dodge.
The trident landed onto Allen’s chest, but it was met with a hard sensation as the smooth surface caused his trident to slide to the side. The boy was stunned for a second, and using that moment, Allen raised the weapon in his hands. The sound of splitting wind could be heard, resembling the roar of a beast.
Allen and the boy passed by each other.
The boy’s body swayed as his head fell from his body, slamming onto the ground. There was only a split second between life and death, and there wasn’t any time to be dazed. He was just unlucky, he hadn’t expected Allen to be wearing armor, and if it weren’t for that armor, he wouldn’t have been stunned and killed.
But just as he killed the boy, two more children appeared from the shrubs.
These weren’t unfamiliar children, Allen had seen their information before. The one on the left with a metal vambrace on his right arm and a short but sturdy body was Hera, his ranking was about tenth place. The boy on right was a little taller, a fourteen year old boy named Qiao who was holding a long tactical knife. The two of them surrounded Allen, staring straight at him.
“You’re pretty fast.”
“We have no choice, who asked you to be the first place. The moment the game started, your position was already revealed by the committee. Since we were nearby, we wouldn’t mind taking your supplies.” Qiao swung his long knife.
Allen smiled, “Sure, that is if you can kill me.”
Hera, who had been quiet, suddenly roared. It resembled the roar of a young lion, as it created a strong gust of wind that flew towards Allen’s face while he swung the arm wearing the vambrace towards Allen. If this attack landed, Allen wouldn’t be able to guarantee the safety of his head. Raising Massacre, Allen used all his strength to slam it into the boy’s forearm guard.
The da dao and the steel guard collided, creating a loud ringing noise. The boys seemed to be matched in strength based on this exchange, but Allen knew that he had relied on the actual weight of Massacre to meet Hera’s strength.
Both of them retreated to gather their strength, but unlike Hera, Qiao was behind Allen.
With a laugh, Qiao thrusted his long knife towards the back of Allen’s neck. It was a sneaky attack that Allen’s armor couldn’t block.
Because of the exchange with Hera, Allen was still retreating towards the tip of Qiao’s knife.
But just before it made contact with his skin, Allen suddenly twisted his body, sliding to the side. As Qiao’s attack missed, Allen used the moment to swing Massacre towards his waist!
“Bastard!” Qiao reacted just as quickly, sucking in his stomach and moving to the side. But as a cold sensation travelled from his waist, blood started to seep through his clothes. He had been scraped by Massacre.
“Get him together!” Hera shouted.
The two boys pounced at him as their two weapons reached towards Allen. Allen held his ground, his weapon wasn’t suited for speed, but Allen could properly utilise its other attributes. The wide width of the weapon allowed the weapon to substitute as a long shield, and he used this method to block their attacks as he slowly whittled away at their offence.
Allen didn’t move his weapon too much, but it still managed to block the attacks of the two boys. Allen knew very well that the rapid movements of the two boys were eating away at their Origin, and after they had exhausted themselves, it was his chance to strike.
As he fought with the two of them, Allen was reminded of his days with Bai Fang.
Bai Fang had taught him the way to fight stronger Dangers, it was to exhaust their strength and wait for the moment to deal the killing blow.
The attacks of the snow wolves were never excessive, instead, they relied on killing blows. After living with the wolf pack for five years, there was a trace of the wolves in Allen’s fighting style.
He was like a hunting snow wolf as he waited calmly and patiently.
But as their attacks continued to fail, Qiao and Hera started to become annoyed.
After another change in positions, Hera finally found an opportunity. While Allen was moving, Massacre slid downwards slightly, revealing his chest. Seeing this, the boy’s eyes lit up as he threw his fist forwards.
This fist landed on Allen’s chest, with Hera’s strength, his punches were enough to dent a steel plate, much less a human body. And while his punch landed, Hera realized that Allen’s body was stronger than he had imagined. With a loud sound, the ripple caused by his fist tore the shirt on Allen’s body, revealing the armour he was wearing.
Seeing the light armor, Hera almost wanted to vomit blood. While the armor wasn’t as strong as Demonic armor, it was still made with a composite material that was thin yet very sturdy. While Hera’s fist caused a few cracks to show on the armor, it was far from being able to burst Allen’s heart.
But his fist was infused with Origin, with his strength and Origin combined, he was still able to force a mouthful of blood from Allen. But using this chance, Allen grabbed onto Hera’s fist while his other hand raised Massacre, cutting down his arm!
Hera retreated with a pained cry as he held onto his amputated arm. He turned to escape, but was quickly stopped by the sight of Massacre descending on his head.
Crescent Moon!
The weapon sliced downwards, taking off Hera’s head. Qiao, who was watching from the side with reddened eyes thought he was safe, but Allen quickly grabbed onto Massacre with his left hand, changing its direction as his body moved, using Crescent Moon again.
Qiao raised his left hand, grabbing onto the end of Massacre’s blade. As Massacre was a squarish blade, it didn’t have a sharp tip. This stunned Allen, and with a cold smile, Qiao thrusted his long knife into Allen’s stomach.
In exchange for mobility, that area wasn’t fully protected.
Without the armor’s defence, the wiring underneath it was able to impede the knife slightly, giving Allen the time to suck in his stomach and preventing it from going too deeply.
Watching the blood seep from his stomach, Qiao smiled, “It seems that my knife is longer than yours.”
“Not necessarily.” Allen smiled.
Taken aback by the smile, Qiao watched as the patterns on the sides of Massacre lit up, followed by a buzz as a blade extended in front of the weapon.
The “sharpness energy” of Massacre was activated, and while the tip that appeared was only 20 cm long, it was extremely tough as it cut off four of Qiao’s fingers and pierced into his neck.
He quickly dodged backwards as he pulled out the knife from Allen’s stomach. His hands released his knife and grabbed at his neck, but he couldn’t stop the blood from spilling out between his fingers, pooling onto the ground before him.
He tried to speak, but could only gasp for air as he kneeled forwards, falling onto the ground.
Just as Allen relaxed, he suddenly felt a chill on his neck as the hairs on his body stood up. It was exactly like the time when he had felt Mao’s sniper aimed towards him. Someone was aiming at him!
