“What? Five thousand dollars! Andy, why don’t you go rob someone instead! That’s a child, not a damn tank!”

Still dazed, Allen could hear a hoarse, yet angered voice. Opening his eyes slightly, he could see the outskirts of the wilderness outside and a bonfire not too far away with a black sedan parked next to it. Wearing a fur jacket, a man who was dressed like a gentlemen was speaking with the leader of Black Widow, and under the fire’s light, Allen could even see the spit flying from his mouth as he spoke.

Behind this man were two bodyguards dressed in black, each carrying a submachine gun on their backs.

Shifting his body, Allen could feel pain coming from various parts of his body. His small face was pale, but he kept silent. He wasn’t in a good shape after being beaten unconscious, spending his time drifting in and out of consciousness on his way here.

He was locked in a sturdy metal cage, and as a young teen, he was far from capable of bending the thick bars on the cage, especially since Andy had taken away Devil’s Pride.

His dagger was currently dancing beautifully on Andy’s fingers. As he stared, Allen prayed that he’d accidentally stab the dagger into his own throat.

“Calm down, Mr. Hearn.” Andy was full of smiles as he pointed at Allen, “You’re right, that is a kid. But he meets your requirements, he’s completely undocumented. And not only that, he’s healthy and his age and body type is similar to your son. I’d bet that you wouldn’t be able to find a more suitable candidate within the week.”

“So you see, five thousand dollars really isn’t that expensive. Or do you mean, your own son’s life isn’t worth this much?” Andy beamed.

Hearn grunted before opening his mouth, revealing his shiny white teeth, “You damned vampire. Listen, if it weren’t for the deadline, you wouldn’t have gotten this deal. I’ll take the boy now, you can come to my office in three days for the money, you bastard!”

Pushing Andy aside roughly, he walked over to the cage. “The fuck, get him on the car you idiots, or you want me to do it myself?” Covering his nose with a handkerchief, he turned back to his underlings.

Hearing this, the two guards ran over quickly to pick up the metal cage together, and moved it towards a SUV. In the cage, Allen turned to look at Andy as he left, who was waving him goodbye.

“Hey!” Allen shouted.

Andy replied with a shrug, “Why, you’ll miss me? I like you too, white boy, but you’re Mr Hearns’ property now!”

Allen’s gaze fell on the dagger in Andy’s hands, “Take care of it for me. Because I’ll be back to take it, and when I do, I’ll use it to tear your neck open.”

Andy paused as he stared at those bright red eyes pricked him. Turning back to his two companions, he laughed, “I’ll wait for you, kid. That is, if you can crawl out of that hell alive.”

Finally, Allen and the cage was thrown onto the car. And after a bumpy ride, he reached a manor in the wilderness. The manor was large, but there were barely any structures. There was one main building, few other attached buildings around it, a water tank and a few shacks. Allen was left in one of those shacks, surrounded by coal and firewood.

It started to rain in the middle of the night, leaking into the shack and turning the bottom of the cage into muddy waters. As the cold water flooded his feet, he could feel the cold creeping up his legs. As the small cage kept Allen from standing up, he could only spend the night crouching in the muddy waters.

On the afternoon of the next day, a guard brought a basin of leftovers. This was the food Allen had for the day, a meal that not even the dogs in the Hearns household would eat. Ignoring the despising look on the guard’s face as he brought Allen his meal, he ate every single bite of food. When the man returned, Allen could see as a strange expression appear on the man’s face as he took the spotlessly clean bowl away.

Two days later, a rather plump boy came to the manor in a truck, he seemed to be around Allen’s age, and was dressed in a custom suit. Ignoring the guard’s warnings, he rushed to the shack and laughed at the sight of Allen, “This mutt is my replacement? He looks nothing like me.”

“Young master Beth, his looks are unimportant as long as the age is right. Master Hearns will take care of the rest.” Next to him, guard replied respectfully.

The boy named Beth crouched down, and stuck his face at the cage, making a silly face as he spoke, “You’re going to die, mutt. But consider it an honour for you to die in my place.”

He turned to the guard, “I heard he’s feral?”

“That’s right, Andy, the leader of the Black Widow said he was raised by wolves.”

“That’s interesting. Hey, do you bite?” Beth waved his hand at the cage.

The guard quickly spoke, “Don’t do that, young master.”

“Don’t worry about it, he wouldn’t dare-“

Before he could finish his sentence, Allen pounced towards him. Grabbing his arm, Allen snapped his arm in half. Ignoring his screams that resembled a pig’s dying cries, Allen snarled at him, “I don’t bite, I only kill!”

“Let go! Let go!”

The guard reached his gun inside of the cage, and striking Allen with the barrel he managed to drag Beth away. But even after he was brought back to the main building by the guards, Allen could still hear him continue to scream, “I’ll kill you!” repeatedly.

And not long after, he watched as a furious Hearns appeared the shack with a rubber pole.

That day, Allen was starved and beaten.

A week after coming into the manor, during the hottest hour of the day, a new van appeared at the manor’s doors where Hearns waited. A few men got off the van, one of which were a fatty that was invited in by Hearns, while the other two wore camouflage outfits, tactical helmets and carried guns.

A picture was sewed into the chest of these soldiers, a picture of a musket and a sword crossed together on the sides of an owl and a wolf. These were the symbol of the “Owl Wolf” garrison of Area 13, it was obvious that these were legitimate soldiers.

Not too long after, Hearns and the fatty left the building and walked towards the shack. Watching as Hearns pointed to Allen, the fatty laughed and nodded, he turned to his soldiers, “That’s Beth, bring him away. Oh right, give him a serial number.”

He then turned to Hearns, “Don’t worry, those big guys only care about the serial number, they wouldn’t go out of their way to check the kid.”

“Many thanks.” Hearns spoke.

Beth, who was at his side, pointed his uninjured middle finger towards Allen.

The two burly soldiers walked over as Allen stared at them coldly. Taking out a strange gun, one of them spoke, “It’s for your own good, if you could just stay still.”

As he reached towards Allen’s arm, Allen suddenly pounced towards the man’s throat. But just as he moved, his body suddenly trembled and fell to the ground. And before he could lose his consciousness, he could see the taser gun in the other soldier’s hands. The man turned to laugh at his companion, “This kid is pretty crazy.”

“Maybe he’ll survive.” The other soldier spoke as he grabbed Allen’s arm, shooting the gun against his skin.

The gun trembled as Allen felt a slight numbness in his arm, and when the soldier moved the gun away, he could see a number: 666.

On this day, Allen left the manor. Carried in the same cage by the soldiers, he was thrown onto the car. Under the guard of the two armed soldiers, Allen could do nothing as he looked through the car’s window. He watched as the car left the manor, drove through a canyon and a forest, only to arrive at a barrack at mountain’s base after three days.

As he was chased off the van by a soldier, the man who had branded Allen with his number smiled, “Welcome to hell.”

With the two guns pointed at him, Allen moved towards the barracks unwillingly. The cars were parked the entrance, and after entering the area, he saw a crude large field right at the entrance. The ground was barely renovated, and the damp ground created muddy footsteps as they walked. On this field, he could see a few dozen soldiers lined up together, pointing their rifles at children around Allen’s age.

The two soldiers brought Allen towards the group of children and handed a folder to an officer. The officer was a two meter tall man with tanned golden skin, and under his skewed beret was a face with a cruel smile. A nasty scar decorated his face, and with a body comparable with a gorilla, he carried the badge of a lieutenant proudly.

Striding forwards, he looked down at the hundred of terrified children, “Welcome, you small fries. My name is lieutenant Ron, and here, I am your god. Under my orders, even if it’s eating shit, you must execute it without fail. But I must say, you are a lucky bunch of fries, because you have been chosen by the system to represent Area 13 in the survival game. But you are also unlucky, because in the next half year, only one of you will leave these doors.”

“You shrimps might have hated the hell-like life you’ve had. But now, I can tell you that your previous lives were like paradise. Now, it is time for you to experience true hell!”

As he finished his last sentence, most of the children were already knocked dizzy by the sheer volume of his voice.
