As of late, the still recovering Mo Li was forcibly detained to the inside of the courtyard, and was not allowed to follow him to the post station to see Nai Man Jin.
After another late night of coming back, Mo Jing Yu’s face bore a tired look, and the Mo Li that was in bed only dully looked at him, “I see Master has come back.”
Without a single wave, unlike before.
How could Mo Jing Yu that was already holding down a stomach full of grievances ever suffer through this kind of treatment- especially this kind of apathy that was also coming from his most loyal a’Li. He remained silent, and tidied up himself, put out the lamp, then laid by Mo Li’s side.
“Now that Master has a new sweetheart, you can’t even bother with responding to me in the slightest?” Mo Li coldly laughed, “As it should- it was I who was too useless. Master detesting me is something ought to be.”
Mo Jing Yu was angry. He grabbed the other person’s hand and bit down, but not a moment after, he felt his heart soften, and silently said, “I won’t. I would never detest you.”
With a turn of the body, he straddled onto the other person’s body, with his hands circling around Mo Li’s neck, and smiled, “Is a’Li getting jealous? Normally, you’d clearly honour your duties, and never overstep even one step. A’Li, do you perhaps like me?”
After a moment of silence, though Mo Jing Yu obviously knew what the result was, but without obtaining an answer, he felt it was boring, and slightly loosened his hand, “Never mind, I won’t force you.”
Right as he was about to get off, his waist received a strong and heavy pressure, and his entire being was thrown onto the other person’s body. On the tip of the nose lingered a weak scent of bloodiness. Mo Jing Yu was afraid the wound on Mo Li’s body had split open, and lied over the top, not daring to move around.
“That’s right. I like you.”
“Are you beginning to feel like I’m disgusting? To think that this obviously petty and low person would actually dare to have delusions of the bright moon in the sky.” Mo Li laughed, “Even though it was clear that I was your hidden guard, when I called you Master, my brain would instead want to pollute[1] you. I also know that I am not right, that I have no qualification to be jealous. But it is because you would time and time again give me leeway, that would let me be so greedy[2].
As it was the first time for him to see someone admit to their mistake with this kind of strong self-confidence, Mo Jing Yu did not know whether he should be angry or laugh, but he just had to have a soft heart for this person. After a peck on the other person’s face, he muttered, “What you have, is what I’ve tacitly allowed.”
“Wait until after we’ve left this place. We’ll find a place where no one knows of, and then settle down there. If it’s possible, we’ll raise a child. Then, we’ll take what we’ve never had before, and pour it all onto him.” Mo Jing Yu smiled as he thought more and more, “And then, we’ll watch as he gets married and establish a career, give birth to many, many children- this way the two of us will have children and grandchildren.”
He could not see Mo Li’s face, but could only hear the other person softly say to him, “Alright.”
But he and Mo Li could not wait for that happen. Because of Nai Man Jin going back on his words, he told Mo Qi he did not like Mo Li, and hoped that only Mo Jing Yu alone would go to Sahada, or switch out a guard.
And Mo Qi consented to it.
It was only a mere hidden guard. Since the matter from last time, he was no longer at ease with Mo Li. Towards Mo Jing Yu, this person was far too loyal. This was no doubt a good thing, but Mo Jing Yu had already completely broke away from the palm of his hand.
He had originally thought Mo Jing Yu would resist him. He had already thought of how to deal with the other person, but he had not thought that the other person would actually accept it- only that he requested Mo Li be given the antidote. After a few days of observation, after he discovered he was truly gave up and submitted to him, Mo Qi then gave the other person the antidote, and assigned a new hidden guard to follow him as well.
Nai Man Jin also thought when Mo Jing Yu saw him, he would hurl all sorts of abuse towards him, but he did not, and was even more tolerant compared to when they first saw each other.
It seems he has finally found a truly interesting little thing.
The night before preparing to depart from the post station, without another sound or breath, the new hidden guard died inside the room. When Mo Jing Yu saw Mo Li, his eyes lit up in that moment. With a bundle still hung over his hands, the entire person jumped onto the other person’s body, with hands tightly hanging onto his neck, “A’Li, a’Li. I missed you so much. Let’s quickly go.”
“En.”
Not a moment later, they crossed over the towering wall from last time, and completely escaped to the outside of the castle; Mo Jing Yu and Mo Li knew- this was only the beginning of running away.
Since when had the prior little young master ever suffer through hardships of travel[3]– no matter how Mo Li had carried Mo Jing Yu, the other person’s body could not avoid being bit by bugs and ants, forming a few lumps, and receiving some small scars from scuffs.
Although it was not said, he also discovered that every night, Mo Jing Yu could not sleep soundly.
But the two did not dare loosen up, afraid that once they were not careful, that they would be caught. But not even two days later, they were still captured back.
Mo Qi thought too highly of them, to send ten and a few more people to go catch him and Mo Li.
One could not blame the other person for mobilizing this many people. After all, for the two’s future, each month, Mo Li would rank first, without anyone able to surpass him.
He had never seen Mo Li kill people so up close before. Even when that hidden guard was killed, he let him close his eyes. As he was presently holding onto the other person, Mo Jing Yu blankly looked at the side of his face that was stained with blood, and with great effort tried to have himself stick by closely, not willing to make himself a burden for Mo Li.
But he knew, he just was.
One person was a hard match against many. When he felt Mo Li’s back dripping wet with blood, Mo Jing Yu bit down, “I’ll go back with you guys. Just let him go.”
But not one person listened to him. Even if he did not say this, he and Mo Li were bound to be brought back. They did not have any authority to make a decision at all, and never once did they have it.
He had heard of the outlines of the brutal torture carried out by the Mo family, but Mo Jing Yu had never once personally seen it. He also never thought he would one day have the ‘honour’ of experiencing it either, but the person that was to be punished was still Mo Li that he had involved.
When he saw the scar on his face, Mo Qi laughed as he pinched up his face, with eyes filled with darkness, “Little Fishy is truly disobedient. I had originally thought you should have come around by now, but I see you still have not straightened out your thinking. But that is alright. If you don’t come around, then let it be so.”
“Father will help you.”
Inside the dim, dark room, where the smell of dampness and bloodiness spread all over, Mo Li was put up on the gallows. From head to toe, not one part of the flesh was in good condition. Mo Jing Yu could not bring himself to say anything. The corners of his eyes reddened, and the lips were already dried, cracked to the point of bleeding.
He did not beg Mo Qi. Even if Mo Li was in more pain, there was only a muffled groaning sound, only bitterly biting down on his lips all the way throughout, not willing to open his mouth.
Even though he was well within reach, he did not even have the strength to go and give the other person a hug.
The two were shut inside for three days now. No other person came in again, and no water that could relieve their thirst. The bloody smell that mingled with the rotting smell made people feel faint. Mo Jing Yu did not even have the strength to even stretch his hand to help Mo Li untie the ropes and probe for his breath. He called out the other person’s name, but the other person did not even let out a single reply.
Finally, he saw Mo Qi.
That man ordered people to have Mo Li that was tied to the gallows be released, then, the hand grabbed at his hair and pressed on his head firmly, forcing him to look at Mo Li’s face that had already been covered by the dried up bloodstains. His eyes were still open, just like when he had first met the dull youth, without any desire or demand.
“Little Fishy, take a proper look at your once hidden guard.”
“After all, he died because of you.”
