Nai Man Jin thought what he would see once again was a broken down Mo Jing Yu, but he did not. The person that had so obviously cared that much about Mo Li, instead sat in front of him at this moment, and calmly asked him “Why”.
Following that, Mo Jing Yu himself already laughed out loud, “I already forgot, you didn’t like a’Li very much.”
That’s right- he did not like that discourteous lap dog. But as for what the larger reason was, it was probably that Nai man Jin felt that the plaything he had taken a fancy to was so caring towards a hidden guard like so, probably because it was a challenge towards his authority.
No matter how it was said, the other person was his too.
The things that Mo Qi had forced him to learn before was finally of use at this moment- Mo Jing Yu raised his head to look at Nai Man Jin, and from the other person’s perspective looking down, with one look, they could see into his fragile pupils that were watered with mist, “Nai Man Jin, now I am truly alone, all by myself.”
“I know even if you were not here, Mo Qi would not let go of me or him either. Now that I am only left with myself, free of all constraints and attachment, I am willing to follow you to Sahada, but I hope that you would help me.”
“I only want the head on top of Mo Qi.” Mo Jing Yu said.
Even if his reasoning was analyzing whether or not his words were exactly true or false, Nai Man Jin’s heart had softened a bit unconsciously- after all, a beautiful child that would cry and be obedient typically made people love them dearly, and in particular, the Mo Jing Yu whom he was interested in.
As the hand stroking his hair, and the other party’s eyes carried inquisitive discerning look, while the other hand twirled around his skin, finely using the tips of his fingers to stroke it, “Mo Jing Yu, do you think I should trust you or not?”
Controlling his expression, he seriously answered, “If I were you, Nai Man Jin, I would choose to trust.”
The tone used was in the same nature as he had in the beginning, so similar that it made Nai Man Jin think back to how he had once also said this to Mo Jing Yu before, and could not help but laugh, “Then you must not betray my trust.”
“Otherwise, I will have your legs broken off and locked inside a cage.”
The other person’s low and deep voice resounded beside his ear, but Mo Jing Yu did not mind. He fixed his gaze on Nai Man Jin, as though wanting to have his one heart completely taken into his own self, “You won’t be so cruel to me like that.”
“You can try.”
Saying that they wanted to fulfill Mo Jing Yu’s wishes, Nai Man Jin’s people stayed for a few days once again.
Before departing, after confirming Mo Jing Yu did not have any lingering towards Mo Li, Mo Qi then privately called him over.
He calmly looked at that person’s affectionate manners, and the pretending attitude of a loving father that would make people vomit, “If little Fishy were as obedient as he were now, a’Li would not be dead.”
Afraid that Mo Jing Yu was not in enough pain, Mo Qi’s every word cut into his heart, “If Mo Li were still here, he would not be able to stand to see you grieving. If little Fishy can help Father realize his(my) ambitions, you will forever will be Mo family’s child.”
Suddenly, inside the originally quiet room, Mo Jing Yu laughed a bit, seeming to be particularly abrupt. One could only see his features wear a smile, and the corners of his eyes carry a bit of an attractive red, “I’m afraid that once Father obtains what he wants, you would no longer remember how you’d previously familiarly call me little Fishy any more.”
The children who go out of Mo family’s doors would all receive many many accessories, under a more beautiful name- a dowry. But inside them all had small mechanisms. This was Mo family’s tacitly understood secret.
Mo Jing Yu had one too- only that on the inside was a special small sachet that was prepared for Nai Man Jin. He shot a smile towards Mo Qi, and took the initiative to serve alcohol to the other person. Seeing the other person’s gaze of distrust, he borrowed the man’s hand and took a sip of the alcohol, with each and every moment carrying a flirtatiousness. “Since little Fishy drank it too, Father should be at ease, no.”
Looking at him with a spurious smile, Mo Qi then drank down that cup of alcohol, “Little Fishy has learned quite well. This Father will be looking forward to your good news.”
Because Mo Jing Yu was not accustomed [to it], on the next day, the Mo residence especially prepared a carriage for him to use. Nai Man Jin was on the outside riding on a tall horse. A curtain covered the clamour from the outside, and he alone sat in the carriage blankly staring at the curtain, not knowing what he himself was thinking at all.
Only that, tears, unknowingly slid down.
On Nai Man Jin’s waist, pinned a small sachet that Mo Jing Yu gave as a present. Once it was time for a rest, he then went inside the carriage, and pulled him in place on his leg in one sweep, “Has little Fishy completed that thing?”
Ever since he knew Mo Qi called Mo Jing Yu little Fishy, Nai Man Jin would also always call him like this. He didn’t know if it was to appear intimate, or if it was to mock him.
“He drank it down.” He concealed the fact he himself also drank it down. After all, to Nai Man Jin, he himself was only just a toy. Regarding this point, he was very self-aware.
Before Mo Qi looked for him, Nai Man Jin first gave him a drug from their Sahada tribe. Colourless and odourless, once it was swallowed, it would unceasingly corrode the human’s body, with no one able to notice it. Going in accordance with the body’s constitution, within one year, one would be met with an abrupt sudden death.
Normally for that old fox, even if it was tea in his own room, he would have it examined before drinking it, and even more so if it was an item of his. Fortunately, he was about to head towards Sahada, which caused him to let up his vigilance.
Only, if he had not also drank it, Mo Qi would definitely not drink it as well. It was probably because he felt he would not take his own life as a joke, but that old fox thought wrong.
Since Mo Li was no more, in this world, only he alone remained, all by himself.
He should really thank that old fox for letting him get in contact with so much, that he himself would have a chance to put in the drug under his eyes. It was only a matter of time for Mo Qi. Only the person in front remained.
As he arranged his emotions, Mo Jing Yu raised his hands and looped them around Nai Man Jin’s neck, with eyes filled with admiration and smiles, “Khan, the people are foreign and the lands are unfamiliar, I must ask you to treat me nicely now.”
Of course, I will treat you nicely as well.
After going through a half a month of going and stopping, Mo Jing Yu finally came to see how the Sahada tribe looked. When he asked about his own tent, Nai Man Jin instead loudly laughed and took hold of his shoulder, “You will be living with Me[1].”
The foreign yet also familiar way of addressing oneself made Mo Jing Yu finally have some sort of sense of reality. Right now, he just thought that this man in front of him, good or bad, was also Sahada’s Khan- the tribe’s king.
The other party was just like Mo Qi, with his own wild ambitions.
Along the way, Mo Jing Yu also saw some older, pretty women. He once heard that once the previous generation’s Khan dies, his wives would directly become the next successor’s wives.
He suddenly had a absurd thought- if Nai Man Jin dies, then his……
After thinking and thinking, he smiled, so much so that he even laughed out loud. By his side, Nai Man Jin asked what he was laughing at, but Mo Jing Yu only shook his head. After all, he could not frankly speak the truth, and tell him that he was thinking about if he were to die, if he would also face the same fate as the women here.
But with Nai Man Jin’s possessiveness, he was afraid he would have him buried together and be done with.
Not one person had discovered, that contemptuous smile on the corners of Mo Jing Yu’s mouth.
[1] The ‘me’ used here is not the informal 我 that NMJ previously used, or any usual titles one would use for themself, but instead, is the word only the Emperor uses (and afaik the only person who CAN use it), 朕, when the Emperor addresses himself. It can be seen as an act of treason, or really, wild ambitions.
