Chapter 15

"Everyone must stay in their rooms and not go outside. Your home is the safest place!"

A middle-aged man was speaking excitedly in the studio, clearly agitated and a bit fearful.

"The UK has entered the highest level of alert. Our troops are heading to every city and will rescue everyone as soon as possible! We hope local police and officials assist the residents in self-defense!"

"These zombies are just like those in the movies; their weakness is the head. Attacking other parts is ineffective. If bitten, there is currently no cure! Please take care of your own safety! Stay at home and do not go out!"

"This is a global viral attack! Although it's not yet confirmed, experts believe it's an attack by a terrorist organization! The world has fallen into complete chaos due to this premeditated attack. Countries with high population densities, such as China and Japan, have been hit hard..."

The TV was broadcasting, but Yan Zekun suddenly snatched the remote from Alex and turned it off.

"Dude, what's the meaning of this?" Alex asked, somewhat displeased.

Yan Zekun didn't answer him but quickly crouched down, signaling them to be quiet.

Without time to think, Li Fatty and the others also crouched down and looked toward the door.

Li Fatty would always sigh when he thought about this incident. It was Yan Zekun, whom he had always doubted, who saved him at critical moments. The number of times was too many to count.

If it weren't for Yan Zekun's alertness, this small team might have been game over on the second day of the apocalypse.

It had to be said that although Li Fatty still harbored some suspicion toward Yan Zekun, he had undoubtedly become an indispensable member of the team.

The zombies fighting over the pork belly on the street posed no threat to the approaching group.

There were five people in total, all tall and strong British white men. They looked to be around thirty years old, each holding a machete, clearly very combat-capable.

"It was probably the fire alarm that drew them here. I'm worried they are the people Jones mentioned," Yan Zekun whispered to Li Fatty.

"Damn, from now on, I'll quit smoking! Cigarettes are really not a good thing," Li Fatty said regretfully.

"I know these people," Alex recognized the identities of the group. "Two of them are security from Wonderland, and the others are probably similar."

Wonderland was a popular nightclub on the bar street, naturally requiring some security to maintain order. Although these security guards were dressed in suits and sunglasses, looking like high-level bodyguards, they were essentially thugs.

Of course, they were thugs who had made it to the surface.

The bar street had many bars, restaurants, nightclubs, and dance clubs, naturally having a large number of security personnel. They belonged to the same company and were assigned to different places. When the apocalypse arrived, these people quickly gathered together, forming a very strong team.

Of course, Li Fatty wouldn't naively think that the other side only had five people. Just like himself, he would leave people to guard the KTV.

The team outside clearly didn't come with good intentions, and Jones had already warned Li Fatty.

Watching the five people easily dispatch the zombies fighting over the pork belly with their bloodied machetes, Li Fatty felt a bit regretful.

Would it have been better to return to UEA with Jones? Students, no matter how scary, were still students, not in the same league as these thugs.

"What should we do? They've already found the KTV," Yan Zekun asked Li Fatty as the five people approached the KTV.

"Let's wait and see. If they try to force their way in, we'll go out and attack them from both sides with Tony and the others," Li Fatty said, looking at Alex and Michelle. "If they try to harm our friends, will you help us?"

The two hesitated, then finally nodded.

"If they are bad people, it will be our turn sooner or later. Count us in! We're joining!"

Michelle and Alex both held their weapons, ready to fight alongside Li Fatty and the others.

"Indeed, just like in 'The Walking Dead.' In a zombie world, the biggest threat is always other survivors," Li Fatty said, pointing to the strongest of the five.

"This one is yours, Alex. I hope your crossbow is accurate. Yan Zekun and I will each hold one, and Michelle will look for the right moment to help us. With the three of us from the KTV, we have a chance!"

"Let's hope they just leave," Michelle prayed to God.

The group approached the KTV entrance and looked inside. The KTV had sofas blocking the view, and the door was locked with a chain, clearly showing signs of occupancy. So these people didn't check other shops and immediately locked onto the target.

No one was visible in the KTV lobby, indicating that Tony and the others were very cautious and had hidden.

Li Fatty looked at his watch; it was 4 PM.

The leader of the foreigners, seeing no one in the KTV, began to discuss with the other four.

Li Fatty broke out in a cold sweat. If they broke in, they would never be able to stay in the KTV again.

Just as Li Fatty and the others were hesitant, one of the white men returned to the car with two large buckets and a lighter.

"Holy shit! They're going to set a fire? The whole street will be burned down! Are these people brainless!?" Alex said in disbelief.

"Damn your ancestors! We can't wait any longer! Alex, remember to aim accurately!" Li Fatty said, kicking open the door of the small supermarket and charging at the five men!

Yan Zekun followed closely behind, raising his tennis racket and choosing the weakest-looking of the five as his opponent.

Michelle followed them, maintaining a two-step distance, ready to strike at any moment.

Due to the sudden attack, the five men were caught off guard. They hadn't even readied their weapons and were forced into a panic.

However, the weapon disparity was too great, and they had a significant numerical advantage. Once the five men regained their composure, Li Fatty and the others dared not really fight to the death. They were immediately on the defensive, unable to counterattack.

Against these European giants, Li Fatty and the others were at a significant disadvantage.

Seeing the situation turn bad, Alex quickly readied his crossbow.

"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven... Damn! I missed..."

It was his first time using a crossbow, and no matter how much he prayed to God, Alex's arrow still missed the target.

The arrow whizzed past Li Fatty's ear, nearly scaring him to death.

"Alex, damn your ancestors!"
