"Is there a place where we can go if we exit from the window at the top of the stairs on the second floor?" Richard, who had been silent all along, suddenly spoke up, asking softly.
Only after Richard mentioned it did everyone remember there was a window on the second floor, so they all got up and went upstairs.
Tony leaned out of the window and looked outside. It was a small alley, very quiet, with no zombies.
Going out through the alley, they didn't know which street it would lead to, but a rough glance showed that there weren't many zombies, and it seemed worth a try!
However, the window was completely sealed, probably for security reasons, and couldn't be opened at all.
"I know these areas pretty well. If we can find a car, we can try to go around the back of the train station to Wonderland. It's all residential areas there, so it should be much safer!" Arthur also looked out the window and said excitedly.
He was now very worried about Mike's safety. With only two people, it was hard to say if they could manage to watch over so many people.
"But where can we find a car?" Albe asked, somewhat worried. Without a car, going to Wonderland was out of the question.
"Leave it to me. If there's no problem, I'll open the window!" Richard also came upstairs. In his view, it was just a matter of getting two cars, which wasn't difficult at all.
Seeing that Li Fat and the others nodded, Richard took out two new rolls of tape from his backpack, which he must have found at the supermarket.
"Cover the window with tape." Richard handed the tape to Tony and Yan Zeke, then turned around and went into the bedroom to get a blanket.
"Li, can I borrow your hammer? And your shovel too, thanks."
In no time, the window was covered with tape.
Richard handed the blanket to Li Fat, who stood on either side with Arthur, using the blanket to cover the window. Then, Richard picked up Li Fat's tool hammer and started tapping around the edges of the window, making sure not to make too much noise.
After throwing the hammer aside, Richard picked up Arthur's shovel, aimed a few times, and then struck hard!
Bang!
A dull sound was heard, followed by the sound of shattering glass as the window broke!
Albe quickly ran to the bedroom window to look outside, but fortunately, the zombies didn't notice.
"It's fine, continue." Albe said, turning back.
Richard picked up the hammer again and signaled to Li Fat and Arthur that they could take the blanket down.
With the hammer, Richard quickly and thoroughly removed all the broken glass from the window. After returning the hammer to Li Fat, Richard took out several new nylon ropes from his backpack, which he had also found at the supermarket.
Richard tied the ropes to the stair railing, made several knots, and tested the strength. It should be fine.
Then he walked to the window, measured with his hands, and made a few more knots, providing a place to grab when starting to climb.
During this time, everyone was also busy, gathering all the necessary items on the first floor.
"Those going down should be tied with ropes, and Li and I will pull you from above." Richard didn't waste any words, directly tying another rope around Arthur.
Arthur stepped on a chair and climbed out of the window, taking a few deep breaths, and then slid down the rope.
Arthur reached the ground smoothly, as it was only a two-story height.
The rest also successfully climbed out of the window, although it took a bit longer for Albe and Michelle, they also safely reached the ground.
"Si Yao, it's just you left." Li Fat turned back to Si Yao, who was still writing inside.
"Okay! I'm coming!" Si Yao responded, neatly placing the notebook on the bed and running over.
"You wrote so much, aren't you going to take it?" Li Fat looked at the notebook on the bed and asked Si Yao.
"No, I won't take it. Maybe someone will find it in the future, and our names and our stories will be known." Si Yao answered while tying the rope.
"Alright, you have the spirit of a scholar from ancient times. Just like they used to write poems on the walls of the brothels by the river, creating a beautiful story."
Li Fat finished, and Si Yao smiled at him and slid down the rope.

The group successfully climbed out of the small supermarket and quietly approached the alley entrance. Outside was a one-way street, with a row of cars parked on the side, leaving only enough space for one car to pass.
There were a few cars parked on the road, making it difficult to drive out even if they managed to get a car.
"Should I go to the main road to get a car? Even if we get a car here, we can't drive out." Tony said to Richard.
"Hehe, in this situation, aren't the sidewalks and the open spaces in front of these shops also roads?" Richard answered without hesitation.
Indeed, with the world in this state, where can't you drive? As long as the width is enough for a car to pass.
Next, they waited for Richard to get the cars. Not just Li Fat, but the others also didn't know how to start a car by touching two wires and making a spark.
This thing was indeed a bit high-tech, and everyone stared with wide eyes, ready to learn from Richard.
Richard picked up a fire axe and walked toward a zombie.
With a swing of the axe, the zombie fell to the ground, dead as a doornail.
Hmm, before stealing a car, you need to ensure the surrounding environment is safe. Everyone nodded in agreement.
Richard squatted down and searched the zombie's pockets.
Hmm, every corpse might carry items we need. Everyone nodded again, admiring Richard's attention to detail, a trait of a former soldier.
Richard found a car key in the zombie's pocket, pressed it, and a nearby car beeped.
Damn...
So he got a car like that? What about the two wires and the spark?
Everyone was taken aback, but it seemed they had overcomplicated it...
Richard used the same method to deal with four more zombies and got the second car key. Everyone got into the cars, with Arthur leading the way and Tony following behind.
Although they got the cars by luck, a Land Rover and a Vauxhall were still a good catch.
"The weather is nice today, quite sunny and pleasant. We don't have self-study classes in the afternoon, and the weather is quite nice. I went to self-study early in the afternoon, thinking about how wonderful university life is."
Tony drove the car while singing in broken Chinese, making Albe and Michelle laugh.
Li Fat also provided a BBOX accompaniment, a song he was very familiar with.
If the world hadn't changed, he would be in class at the university right now.

The two cars passed a church, the door of which was slightly ajar.
"Father, two cars just passed by. Should we?"
"Never mind, Green. They are already far away. Cough, cough..."
"Father..."
"Cough, cough, zombies are sinister, but humans are even more sinister..." The priest patted his chest and coughed a few times.
"Zombies are sinister, humans are even worse."
