Chapter 64

Harroway drove the taxi at the front, with Arthur, Wang Zongze, and Fang Qian in the car. Li Fatso followed closely behind in his Land Rover, with Yan Zekun, He Ye, and Lily accompanying him. Behind them was Richard, who was driving the Vauxhall, preparing to get some gasoline as a backup.

The threat of the Thomases brothers had been eliminated, so even if Wonderland only had Wang Chan and Old Hong, there shouldn't be much of a problem. Besides, Richard would return to the nightclub promptly after getting the gasoline, and Li Fatso now trusted Richard more.

After passing an intersection, Li Fatso saw Richard turn right and leave them in the rearview mirror. If he remembered correctly, there should be a Tesco gas station over there.

The journey was relatively smooth, with no major troubles. They did encounter a few survivors along the way, but since they didn't ask for help, Li Fatso and his group didn't want to invite more trouble.

As for whether they were Mike, with Arthur in the car, Li Fatso didn't need to worry.

The destination was already set, near the area they searched yesterday. Yesterday, they had almost cleared all the zombies in that area, making it a relatively safe place to rest. Moreover, Harroway was right; they found the broken window of the pharmacy nearby.

Following the trail of blood from the zombies, they tracked for a long time until the blood trail disappeared. The group had to search the area.

As it was getting dark, they had to stop. Harroway drove them back to Wonderland and used a signal gun to distract the group of zombies blocking the entrance.

Today, with enough people, Li Fatso decided to split into two teams. Of course, they would only split up in a small area. Li Fatso carried the signal gun, so they could regroup quickly if anything went wrong.

Li Fatso knew that splitting up was more dangerous, but there was no other choice. If they couldn't find Si Yao today, how would he explain it to Albe and Tony? Tony would definitely make things worse, and the team's morale would be hit again.

The Thomas incident last night had already made the team very sensitive, and Li Fatso didn't want to make things worse.

While he was thinking, Harroway slowly pulled the taxi to the side of the road. Li Fatso was puzzled; they hadn't reached the destination yet, so why did he stop?

Harroway got out of the car, pointed to the sky, and shouted, "Helicopter!"

Hearing Harroway, Li Fatso also stopped the car on the side of the road, and everyone jumped out. There were some zombie corpses nearby, indicating that someone had already cleared them. It was like the saying, "One man plants the tree, another enjoys the shade."

Everyone looked up and saw a military helicopter flying overhead.

"It's an AH-64 attack helicopter! I didn't expect to see a real one! Amazing!" Fang Qian shouted excitedly, looking at the helicopter in the sky.

Only the military had such helicopters! It was the military!

Thinking of this, everyone became excited! The military had come to rescue them! With their help, finding Si Yao would be much easier!

"Hey! Hey! There are people here!"

Ignoring the risk of attracting zombies, everyone shouted loudly to the sky.

It had been four days since the disaster, and they hadn't seen any rescue efforts. Everyone thought the military system had collapsed, but they didn't expect to see a military helicopter in Norwich!

No matter what, seeking the protection of the military was everyone's hope. Only strong military power could ensure survival.

Inside the helicopter.

"Captain Millsap, there are people below!" a soldier-like person turned to Millsap and said.

"Our mission is to pick up the Duke of Garter. Ignore them," Millsap replied without opening his eyes.

"Really not going to help? Our helicopter has enough space for them," the soldier, looking down from the high altitude at Li Fatso and his group waving, asked again.

Millsap frowned, opened his eyes impatiently, and looked at the soldier in front of him.

"Alsace, what is your identity!?"

"Soldier of the British Royal Guard!"

"What is your mission!?"

"Pick up the Duke of Garter and take him to Buckingham Palace!"

"You can be quiet now."

"Yes, sir!"

The helicopter didn't stop at all and continued flying to the Duke's residence in Norfolk.

"Damn it, they just flew away?" Li Fatso cursed angrily.

"I bet they saw us!" Wang Zongze said disappointedly.

The helicopter's refusal to help made everyone feel like withered leaves, instantly losing their energy.

"I listened to the latest news on the car radio this morning. It's still on a loop. They told us to stay in our homes, not go out, and wait for rescue," Harroway sighed, looking worried.

"Bullshit! Wait for what? Waiting for death!" Li Fatso cursed and got back into the driver's seat.

Because of the shouting, some zombies were already heading their way. The others exchanged glances and had to return to the car in disappointment.

The two cars continued driving toward the destination. The zombies that gathered were crushed under the wheels, causing no trouble for Li Fatso and his group.

In no time, the two cars reached the destination. Eight people got out of the cars with their backpacks and weapons. Although the area had been cleared yesterday, a few zombies had gathered again.

The zombies, attracted by the noise, attacked the eight people!

Except for Lily, He Ye and Fang Qian showed unexpected strength, helping Li Fatso and the others quickly clear the zombies.

Seeing that it was safe, Lily got out of the car again.

"Actually, that was good news. If the military system is still functioning, we still have hope," Lily said, trying to comfort the still somewhat disappointed group.

"They didn't help us because they have more important things to do or more important people to save. Maybe they'll come back to save us soon!" Fang Qian wiped the sweat from his forehead and said optimistically.

Hearing their words, the others felt a bit better.

Li Fatso sneered inwardly. He knew these words were just self-comfort. If the people in the helicopter were willing to come back and save them, he would be happy to stay fat forever and never lose weight.

Li Fatso wanted to remind this country of something it shouldn't forget: no matter how great the disaster, nothing is more important to the country than its people!

Unfortunately, who would care about his words?

From that moment on, Li Fatso no longer had any hope for the British government's vague rescue efforts.

In the apocalypse, the only ones he could rely on were these companions!
