Chapter 81

Leord left Zeato's matter to the civil servants and set off to investigate the ancient ruins with Gilbert, Barbarot, and Isabelle.
Contrary to expectations that the journey would be perilous, the ancient ruins turned out to be located in a mountain on the plain. The entrance was concealed by magic, and the other three were very surprised. Leord, however, was not surprised as he knew from Jin's memories, but he was moved by the situation, which was similar to the game.
"Well, we are about to investigate the ancient ruins. As you know, there may be dangerous traps and powerful monsters inside. Let's stay alert and proceed!"
With Leord's encouragement, the four entered the ancient ruins.
The interior of the ancient ruins was made of stone and had a labyrinth-like structure. Traps were set up in various places, and anyone unfamiliar with the area would undoubtedly struggle. However, thanks to Jin's memories, Leord knew the layout of the traps and led the group forward smoothly without triggering any of them. However, the three following behind Leord were puzzled. It was suspicious that Leord could accurately identify the traps, as if he had visited the place before.
"Lord Leord, you have been accurately identifying the traps. Have you been here before?"
Leord did not answer Isabelle's question. No, he couldn't answer. After all, Leord usually went out with Isabelle and Gilbert and had never gone out alone.
How did Leord know the location of the ancient ruins and the positions of the traps? The answer was Jin's memories, but would they believe it? Besides, Jin's memories, which provided an absolute advantage, should not be revealed.
"I have my secrets. That's all."
"You're evading the question, aren't you? Well, it's fine. I will definitely get to the bottom of it eventually."
"Do as you please."
Leord continued forward without further explanation. Isabelle, though not convinced, understood that pursuing the matter further would be futile.
For a while, the four proceeded in silence, deeper into the ancient ruins. Thanks to Leord's guidance, they made their way to the deepest part in the shortest time possible. Along the way, Leord occasionally forgot about the traps and triggered them, but they reached the deepest part without any injuries.
"Here it is..."
"Is there something behind this door?"
"Yes. However, I'm not sure what will happen when we open the door, but a guardian, or some kind of monster, will appear."
"You know about this monster?"
"It's a golem. Not just any golem, but a mithril golem with magical resistance."
"Wh-What!? A mithril golem! This will be a tough battle..."
"But we must win. Besides, I believe the four of us can handle a mithril golem."
"Understood. If that's what you wish, I will follow."
"I will wield my sword for Lord Leord."
"I am Lady Sylvia's subordinate, but I will follow Lord Leord now."
"Thank you, all three of you. Let's go!"
Leord forced open the large door leading to the deepest part. The door creaked open. The four stepped inside and stopped.
In front of them stood a mithril golem, its surface dull and gleaming. As soon as the four confirmed the mithril golem, it also recognized the intruders.
"Here it comes! Spread out!"
The mithril golem, with its heavy body, lunged at Leord and the others. Though its movements were slow, its attacks were incredibly destructive. The mithril golem shattered the floor and slowly raised its arm, targeting Barbarot.
"Hmph. Me, huh? I'm facing an ancient mithril golem. I won't hold back! Taste my sword!"
Barbarot dashed across the room and charged at the mithril golem. The mithril golem tried to crush Barbarot with its foot, but Barbarot was too quick. He dodged under the golem's leg and leaped to strike it.
"Haah!!!"
A grating sound echoed through the room. Barbarot landed, frustrated, as he failed to inflict any damage.
"Damn! How hard is it!"
Barbarot stepped back from the mithril golem. Meanwhile, Gilbert sneaked up to the golem and delivered a powerful blow.
"Then, let me have a go."
A deafening sound, as if he had struck mithril itself, echoed through the room. Isabelle's eyes widened in shock, and Leord's face twitched.
(As always, his strength is monstrous. Now, the mithril golem... what the!)
Leord saw the mithril golem, which had not budged at all. In the game, its durability was incredibly high, but he didn't expect it to withstand Gilbert's blow.
Gilbert, who had delivered a powerful blow, was also surprised to see the mithril golem unscathed.
"It's harder than I thought."
The mithril golem, unharmed by the sword of Zeato's top knight, Barbarot, and the powerful blow of the legendary assassin, Gilbert, left Leord wondering how to defeat it.
(This is bad. The mithril golem is stronger than I expected. Should we retreat and regroup?)
Leord, who was considering retreating, wondered if he could really defeat the mithril golem.
