Chapter 82

Leord, who had been on the verge of fleeing, abandoned the option of retreating. Even if he were to retreat and regroup, there was no guarantee of victory.

Even if he increased the number of people, there was no one with the caliber of Gilbert or Barbarot. There was a possibility of unnecessary casualties, so Leord abandoned the option of retreating.

If not, there was no choice but to step forward with determination.

Leord took a step forward and cast a spell. Just because the golem had resistance didn't mean the spell was ineffective. However, the spell Leord cast was meaningless against the mithril golem.

Leord, who was at a loss, suddenly realized that now was the time to derive the surefire method to defeat the mithril golem from Jin's memories. Unfortunately, in the game, the standard method was to use attacks that ignore defense or penetration damage to defeat it physically.

Sadly, this was reality, and no one had such attacks. Isabel might have assassination skills as a royal intelligence agent, but she didn't seem suited for a frontal battle.

Leord, back at square one, racked his brain trying to figure out how to defeat the mithril golem. It was good that Gilbert and Barbarot were drawing its attention, but they would eventually reach their limits. He had to come up with a plan to defeat the mithril golem before then.

As Leord was concentrating on his thoughts, a pebble hit his head. It didn't hurt much, but it broke his concentration.

"Ouch... a pebble?"

Leord picked up the pebble that had fallen in front of him and had a sudden realization.

"Right... this isn't a game. It's reality. If I can't defeat the mithril golem, maybe I can collapse its footing...!"

Finally back in reality, Leord used his earth magic to collapse the mithril golem's footing. The mithril golem, unable to handle this, lost its balance.

Gilbert and Barbarot, as if they had agreed, launched a barrage of attacks.

However, the mithril golem was still not defeated. But there was progress. It had lost its balance. If it could lose its balance, it wasn't impossible to defeat it.

"What about the joints?"

Gilbert's heel drop hit the mithril golem's elbow with a thud. Leord watched to see the result, but unfortunately, it wasn't destroyed.

"Then, just keep attacking!"

Barbarot struck the elbow where Gilbert's heel drop had landed with his sword. It was thought that this would work, but it still wasn't destroyed.

Just when it seemed that nothing would work, Isabel, who had not shown much movement until then, moved.

"I don't really want to, but the situation is what it is. I'll show a bit of seriousness."

Isabel leaped and soared high, then plummeted down. Her landing point was the mithril golem's elbow, the spot where Gilbert and Barbarot had attacked. Leord, who had assumed she couldn't destroy it, was greatly surprised.

A sound he had never heard before rang out. Leord confirmed the source of the sound and saw cracks in the elbow where Isabel had attacked.

Now wasn't the time to be surprised. Leord raised his voice and gave instructions to Gilbert and Barbarot.

"Gil, Barbarot! Now is the time to attack with the opening Isabel has created!!!"

Hearing Leord's instructions, the two concentrated their attacks on the crack in the mithril golem's elbow that Isabel had created. The elbow, which had seemed impossible to destroy, collapsed with a sound.

Leord, now confident that they could do it, called out to Isabel.

"Isabel! One more time, please!"

"I expect a reward when the investigation is over!"

Leord didn't know how Isabel had damaged the mithril golem, but he was confident that they could win by focusing their attacks on her.

The strategy worked perfectly, and the coordinated attacks with Isabel as the focal point steadily wore down the mithril golem. Gilbert, Barbarot, and Leord concentrated their attacks on the crack Isabel had created, destroying it. It seemed like a simple task, but it was the most efficient. Leord had never been more grateful for Isabel's presence.

Then, they completely destroyed the mithril golem's hands and feet, rendering it immobile. This wasn't the end. They had to destroy the core that powered the golem. Leord knew the core was in the chest and asked Isabel to destroy it. When the chest was shattered, a round core appeared.

"This is the end."

Leord thrust his sword into the core and confirmed that the mithril golem had completely stopped. It had been a struggle, but it was over.

All that was left was to proceed to the next room and reactivate the teleportation magic array to complete Leord's plan.

However, this also set the flag for becoming the world's strongest mage. Since there was nothing he could do about it, Leord stopped thinking about it.

"Alright, this is the deepest part. Let's go."

Leord led the three to the deepest part.
