Chapter 57

PS: Sorry, I was out all afternoon, but fortunately, I finished writing it in advance. Here are two chapters in a row.

Hu Donghan smiled slightly and said, "Alright, I won't say any more unnecessary words. Now, go find some people and build a basement under this wooden house for me to cultivate. The basement should have two rooms: one for cultivation and the other for setting up a pill refining room."

"Yes, Uncle Hu," Niu Ergen nodded and hurriedly left to find people.

As for Hu Donghan, he used the soul ring in his hand to feed the Medicine Spirit Ghost intermittently. He still held a jade slip and continued to read its contents.

Soon, Niu Ergen brought nearly twenty miscellaneous disciples over.

Liu Yiqing and Lu Jianwen followed behind, holding some simple tools. After reporting the news yesterday, they quickly received a message from Bu Yun, instructing them to follow Hu Donghan's orders and not to worry about anything else. They weren't fools and naturally understood that Hu Donghan must be a truly remarkable person. So, they naturally came to curry favor.

Hu Donghan's request was simply to build a basement under the wooden house with two rooms. With over twenty people working together, it only took a day to complete everything.

In the evening, Hu Donghan dismissed everyone and instructed Niu Ergen to build a house about a mile away to wait for orders. Then, he entered the basement and began setting it up.

First, he set up another "Ghostly Restaurant" in a corner of the wall, threw the Medicine Spirit Ghost inside, and let it eat. Then, Hu Donghan entered the other room and checked it out.

In the future, this room would be Hu Donghan's public pill refining room, so it couldn't have any problems.

However, the quality of the basement built by Niu Ergen and his team was absolutely flawless. Even if Hu Donghan wanted to find issues, it would be hard to do so.

He took out the low-grade spirit artifact pill furnace from his storage ring and placed it in the center of the pill refining room. Hu Donghan couldn't help but think:

"In the future, this place will be where I pretend to refine pills. When the Medicine Spirit Ghost refines pills, it only needs to adjust some differences in the pill furnace. If it hides beside me using its Ghostly talent, even if someone discovers it, they would at most think the Medicine Spirit Ghost is just beside me while I refine pills. Who would think that the one actually refining the pills is the Medicine Spirit Ghost?"

"As long as I am careful and no one is idle enough to observe my every move, the possibility of this secret being discovered is extremely low."

"In the future, the Medicine Spirit Ghost will refine pills here, while I can cultivate here. Nothing will be delayed."

"However, the Medicine Spirit Ghost refining pills still has the problem of the furnace exploding. If it happens at a critical moment during cultivation, it wouldn't be good. There's no choice but to stay a bit further from the pill furnace and divide some of my attention to monitor the situation..."

After a pause, Hu Donghan continued to think:

"Speaking of which, the benefits of the Earth Fire Hall are indeed astonishing. According to the jade slip, newly joined pill refining disciples can receive a thousand portions of Qi Condensation stage spirit herbs for practice. These spirit herbs are completely free, and the pills refined are entirely owned by the pill refining disciples."

"Beyond these thousand portions, if one wants to continue receiving spirit herbs for pill refining, they must follow the Earth Fire Hall's rules and first refine a hundred portions of Qi Condensation stage spirit herbs. After officially receiving the task, the success rate must be at least fifty percent. If the success rate is below fifty percent, contribution points will be deducted..."

"Fortunately, there are still a thousand portions of spirit herbs for practice at the beginning. The Medicine Spirit Ghost has a talent for pill refining, so after refining a thousand portions, the success rate should be at least fifty percent..."

"Also, the Medicine Spirit Ghost's daily intake of wandering souls must be adequately provided. However, frequent entry and exit in the Spirit Herb Mountain is not good. It seems this matter should be handled by Liu Yiqing and Lu Jianwen..."

After confirming there were no issues with the basement, Hu Donghan walked out and returned to the house, continuing to study the content about pill refining in the jade slip.

In the blink of an eye, half a month had passed.

During this half month, everything was stable. For Hu Donghan, it seemed things were back on track. The Earth Fire Hall sent two low-grade spirit artifact soul rings, each capable of holding ten thousand souls, so the Medicine Spirit Ghost's food problem was no longer a concern. The Medicine Spirit Ghost, once it could emit medicinal fragrance and yin energy, would immediately head to the medicinal field. In half a month, all the Land Knot Grass had successfully grown their first section, with perfect quality. As for Hu Donghan, he had been diligently studying the content in the jade slip.

During this period, a few of the pill refiners from the third floor of the Earth Fire Cave came to check on Hu Donghan. Upon seeing the thriving Land Knot Grass in the medicinal field, they almost refused to leave. In the end, Old Ancestor Duan Tian emerged from some corner, cursing and scolding, and took these ancestors back.

After half a month of study, Hu Donghan finally had a rough understanding of the world's pill refining techniques.

Pill refining involves extracting the pure spiritual energy and medicinal power from spirit herbs, then blending them with other spiritual energies and medicinal powers to form something beneficial to cultivators. This something is a pill.

During the pill refining process, one must not only control the spiritual energy and medicinal power within the spirit herbs but also manage the spiritual energy around the pill furnace.

In the finished products of pill refining, pills also have grades. Starting from failed inferior products, there are low-grade, middle-grade, high-grade, and supreme-grade pills. The higher the grade of the pill, the purer its medicinal and spiritual power, the easier it is to absorb, and the greater its assistance to cultivators. The grade of a pill is determined by control.

The moment a pill is formed, the spiritual energy and medicinal power are gathered and condensed into a pill. The grade of the pill is mostly decided at this moment.

"I now have a certain understanding of pill refining. Teaching these contents to the Medicine Spirit Ghost and making it fully grasp them is still somewhat difficult."

"After all, the Medicine Spirit Ghost's intelligence was completely erased by me. A ghost without intelligence finding it hard to understand these things is understandable. However, if we start from scratch and try step by step, although it's difficult, it shouldn't be a problem."

Hu Donghan thought as he opened the door and walked out.

He sent a message at the wooden house door, and soon, Niu Ergen rushed over.

Niu Ergen was very surprised the first time he saw the unusual state of the Land Knot Grass. Although he understood that the abnormality here was different from other places, he didn't tell anyone about it. Now, after seeing it many times, Niu Ergen was no longer surprised.

"Uncle Hu," Niu Ergen quickly ran to Hu Donghan and bowed.

"Hmm," Hu Donghan nodded and instructed, "Niu Ergen, go to the Earth Fire Hall for me."
