Chapter 60

After spending a whole day sulking in the wooden house, Hu Donghan finally managed to calm his troubled mind.

The repeated failures in alchemy by the Medicine Spirit Ghost had a significant impact on Hu Donghan. Now, he was even pondering whether it was right or wrong to have forcibly erased the ghost's intelligence back then.

However, this thought only lingered in his mind for a moment before Hu Donghan immediately dismissed it—no matter what, ghosts like this must never be allowed to possess intelligence! In his previous life, Hu Donghan had retained the intelligence of those soul entities, and what was the result? At the final moment, the five ghosts rebelled together, destroying Hu Donghan's physical body. If it weren't for his good luck and his soul escaping, he would have been completely destroyed!

Ghosts with intelligence are not reliable! Only ghosts without intelligence can truly be trusted! Even if these ghosts were to rebel, they wouldn't collude with other ghosts to do so. Although ghosts with intelligence are indeed more useful, they are absolutely not Hu Donghan's choice!

"Enough! Enough! Even if the Medicine Spirit Ghost can't refine elixirs, it still has other abilities. Just the two abilities of accelerating the growth of spirit herbs and simulating the effects of spirit herbs are enough to make everyone envious. What do I have to be dissatisfied with?"

"Moreover, even if the Medicine Spirit Ghost can't refine elixirs, I can refine them myself. Although it's more troublesome, it's still much better than not refining elixirs at all. Since Wang Rulong and the others can successfully refine elixirs, I can naturally do it too!"

With this thought, Hu Donghan stood up and walked towards the alchemy room in the basement.

As soon as he entered the alchemy room, Hu Donghan first saw the Medicine Spirit Ghost in a daze, and then he noticed that all the spirit herbs had disappeared, leaving only a pile of residue on the ground!

"What... What's going on here?"

Hu Donghan scratched his head in frustration, and finally remembered that when he left the alchemy room in a fit of anger, he had said something like, "Let the Medicine Spirit Ghost continue to ruin the spirit herbs." Could it be that the Medicine Spirit Ghost really followed his angry words and ruined all the spirit herbs?

"You damn thing!" Hu Donghan, thinking of this possibility and seeing the situation around him, cursed in anger.

However, his gaze suddenly fell on the residue—what was on the residue? It was... elixirs?

Hu Donghan's eyes lit up, and he immediately walked forward to pick up the elixirs one by one.

Elixirs!

These were indeed elixirs! Moreover, they should all be newly refined Qi Nourishing Pills.

"This guy has finally managed to refine elixirs." Hu Donghan's heart first filled with joy, but then it was overshadowed by anger, "Even if he has refined elixirs, what's the point? Out of a hundred spirit herbs, there are only twenty-nine pills. On average, it's only a success rate of three out of ten!"

"A success rate of three percent, and that's for the most basic Qi Nourishing Pills. If anyone found out, they would surely laugh their heads off!"

Hu Donghan was furious, but he still put the twenty-nine hard-earned Qi Nourishing Pills into a jade bottle, thinking, "Next, I still need to go to the Earth Fire Hall and get another hundred spirit herbs to try it out myself."

"Fortunately, I don't need to go to collect the spirit herbs myself. Otherwise, if I really went there and was asked about the success rate this time, I wouldn't know how to answer."

Standing up, Hu Donghan was about to leave the basement when he suddenly noticed the pile of residue in the alchemy room and frowned.

"Something's not right with these residues! But I can't quite figure out what's wrong..."

Thinking about it, Hu Donghan suddenly remembered the elixirs that were on top of the residues and realized, "Right! I'm such an idiot! There's a lot of residue here, so there might be more elixirs underneath!"

With this thought, Hu Donghan immediately started cleaning up the residues while searching for elixirs.

However, after collecting all the residues, he didn't find any more elixirs. Hu Donghan was initially annoyed, but then he thought, "No! No! This doesn't make sense at all!"

"When I saw those twenty-nine elixirs earlier, they were on top of the residues and waste. Could it be that the Medicine Spirit Ghost placed these twenty-nine elixirs on top at the end? But the Medicine Spirit Ghost doesn't have intelligence, so it shouldn't be capable of such a deliberate act. Even if it did, there would be some traces left. If that's the case, could it be... could it be that these twenty-nine elixirs were all refined at the end?"

"Refined at the end, with so much residue beforehand. And the remaining herbs around..."

Hu Donghan looked at the still dazed Medicine Spirit Ghost with a suspicious gaze and thought, "Could it be that this guy has already mastered the alchemy method?"

Narrowing his eyes, Hu Donghan directly asked through the Soul Board, "Can you refine Qi Nourishing Pills now?"

"Can..." The Medicine Spirit Ghost transmitted a vague message to Hu Donghan through the Soul Board.

However, at this moment, Hu Donghan was somewhat hesitant to believe the message the Medicine Spirit Ghost sent—after all, this guy had disappointed him too much before!

"Stop thinking too much! Now, I'll send Niu Ergen to get another hundred spirit herbs for refining Qi Nourishing Pills. Then I'll let the Medicine Spirit Ghost refine them again. If it succeeds, that's great. If it fails..."

Thinking this, Hu Donghan walked out of the basement, left the wooden house, and instructed Niu Ergen to go and collect the spirit herbs.

Soon, Niu Ergen brought the spirit herbs to Hu Donghan.

Hu Donghan took the spirit herbs and went back to the alchemy room, cleaned up the mess, and then took out a set of spirit herbs, giving the order in his mind, "Refine Qi Nourishing Pills."

The Medicine Spirit Ghost first stood there in a daze, then began to refine the Qi Nourishing Pills according to the procedure it had experimented with before.

Opening the lid, it placed the Qi Nourishing Grass and White Bone Ginseng into the alchemy furnace, and then used suitable earth fire to bake them. When the two spirit herbs turned into spirit liquid, the Medicine Spirit Ghost added Six Grain Worms, demon beast meat, and Spirit Auxiliary Fruit. After the three ingredients successfully fused with the spirit liquid, the Medicine Spirit Ghost performed the elixir collection technique and successfully collected the elixirs...

The refinement of the Qi Nourishing Pills took less than half an hour.

During this half hour, Hu Donghan watched in a daze. When he saw the Medicine Spirit Ghost successfully collect the elixirs, he let out a sigh of relief and felt extremely pleased, "It seems the Medicine Spirit Ghost can really refine Qi Nourishing Pills..."
