Chapter 25

Jiang Han curled up in the darkness, tightly hugging his head, occasionally trembling slightly.

In this dark space, it seemed as if time itself had stopped. Apart from the darkness, there was nothing but endless silence.

After an unknown amount of time, Jiang Han's curled-up body slowly relaxed, and he slowly sat up, supporting his forehead.

"Where... am I?"

Jiang Han opened his eyes, but all he saw was darkness. In this world without light, he could see nothing.

"What a familiar feeling..." Jiang Han stood there in a daze, muttering to himself.

"Where have I seen this before?"

Jiang Han's brows furrowed. He stretched out his hand and gently pinched the bridge of his nose, thinking quietly.

"Darkness... silence..." A flash of light appeared in Jiang Han's mind, as if he had grasped something, but it quickly disappeared, leaving him with nothing.

"Why, why does it feel so familiar? I must have seen it somewhere."

Jiang Han was certain he had been to this place before, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't remember, which made him feel frustrated.

"Why am I here... Right, who... who am I?" Confusion clouded Jiang Han's eyes as he fiercely patted his head.

"I... I seem to be called Jiang Han, living in Baiyun City... No!" Jiang Han muttered to himself, but then shook his head fiercely, a glint of light appearing in his eyes. "No! I am called Jiang Han, but I come from Earth!"

"Remembered, this is that unknown dark space, from where I went to the Tianwu Continent!"

Jiang Han suddenly remembered everything and understood where he was. He quickly became excited. Since he had come to the Tianwu Continent from here, did it mean he could also return to Earth from here?

This thought made Jiang Han uncontrollably excited. He wanted to become powerful on the Tianwu Continent to return to Earth! The power was something he wanted, but compared to that, he preferred to return to Earth to be with his family and loved ones!

"It's so dark." Jiang Han instinctively tried to draw his laser sword, but paused. The darkness remained, and nothing appeared in his hand.

"What's going on? Where's my laser sword?" Jiang Han panicked, calling out several times, but nothing changed.

"It can't be! Mad Rhino Armor! Sand Eagle - Silencer! Ice Soul Technique! Ghost Step..."

"There's nothing... How can there be nothing..." Jiang Han was disheartened.

"Right, there's the system..."

Jiang Han's heart stirred, and he hurriedly called out in his mind, but after a long wait, the surroundings remained silent, and the system did not appear.

Jiang Han became anxious. Could the "Tianwu Continent" have been just a dream? But... it shouldn't be, he could feel pain, so how could it be a dream?!

But if it wasn't a dream, why did the system disappear?

Jiang Han plopped down on the ground, staring blankly at the darkness, unsure of what to do.

Before, he had entered the Tianwu Continent through a faint light, but that light had appeared on its own. Now, with no light, Jiang Han had no way to proceed, and could only wait.

Moreover... he wasn't even sure if the Tianwu Continent truly existed!

If it didn't exist, it meant he couldn't return to Earth, and he would be trapped here forever?!

A sense of uncontrollable fear rose in Jiang Han's heart. Living in such a place forever, with only darkness for company, without hunger, fatigue, or even sleep... what was the point of living?

But what could he do? He could only sit here and wait.

The feeling of helplessness was truly hateful. Jiang Han thought to himself.

If given a choice, he would rather live amidst the killings on the Tianwu Continent than stay here.

Jiang Han sat on the ground, hugging his legs, resting his chin on his knees, and stared blankly.

Time seemed to stand still. It could have been an hour, a day, or even a month... Jiang Han remained in this position, motionless, as if turned to stone.

In this world, he was the only one.

After an unknown amount of time, the dark space changed. A faint light quietly emerged from the horizon, quickly expanding, as if someone had torn a crack in the darkness.

Jiang Han raised his head woodenly, his brain having stopped thinking, only moving by instinct.

This was a state of self-hypnosis. To avoid being driven mad by the endless darkness, Jiang Han had to force himself to stop all activities, including thinking.

"Moon... moon..." Jiang Han's lips moved, his voice dry.

In the dark sky, a full moon emitted a faint blue light, which, in this darkness, was already quite bright.

"Moon... light..."

Jiang Han muttered to himself, suddenly jumping up, his face filled with excitement. After waiting so long, there was finally some light. Did it mean he could leave?

But soon, the excitement on Jiang Han's face froze. He remembered something important... the moon was in the sky, how could he get up there?

"Damn!" Jiang Han cursed softly, feeling hope given and then quickly shattered. This was just playing with him!

Jiang Han stood there for a while, then suddenly pointed at the sky, his face twisted in anger, and shouted, "Go to hell! You brought me to this place, why don't you show yourself... If not a person, even a monster would do! Leaving me here alone, do you know I could die?!"

"Damn, that feels better!" Jiang Han exhaled heavily, lying down on the ground, gazing at the pale blue moon, lost in thought.

In this endless darkness, the moon was the only light, clear and pure, emitting a faint yet gentle pale blue glow. Occasionally, a few clouds seemed to pass by the moon.

The moon was truly beautiful...

Jiang Han gazed at the moon quietly, and at some point, a smile appeared at the corners of his mouth.

"If... I could always look at this moon, it might not be so bad..." Jiang Han thought to himself.

Gradually, Jiang Han felt sleepy, his eyelids becoming heavier. After one last look at the moon, he gently closed his eyes.

...

"Bro, this kid has been sleeping for a whole day, why isn't he waking up?" The short, burly man mumbled, gnawing on a piece of roasted meat from an unknown beast.

The other man was drinking, and upon hearing the short man's complaint, he stopped, shaking his head helplessly. "My dear brother, stop asking me! You've been asking me every few minutes for a whole day, I'm getting annoyed!"

The short man mumbled a few more words, but it was unclear what he said. He then fell silent, focusing on his roasted meat.

The other man turned to look at Jiang Han, frowning as he stared at the iron armor on Jiang Han's body.

When the two brothers first saw Jiang Han unconscious, they tried to take off his Mad Rhino Armor. After more than an hour of searching, they were exhausted, but they couldn't find a single seam to remove it!

This made them wonder how Jiang Han had put it on so quickly.

In a fit of anger, the short man punched the iron armor... and his hand swelled, while the armor didn't even show a mark.

This left the two brothers speechless. Even though they were bare-handed, the short man was a Sixth Rank Warrior, and his punch should have weighed at least a hundred pounds. Even a rock would have shattered, but the iron armor didn't even show a white mark!

They couldn't take it, and they didn't want to kill him... of course, even if they wanted to, they couldn't do anything now.

In their view, although Jiang Han's iron armor was durable, it couldn't withstand prolonged attacks. After much discussion, they decided to save Jiang Han for some reason.

Next, they argued over who would carry Jiang Han. After a long debate, they used the simplest method... rock-paper-scissors!

The short man lost and had to carry Jiang Han! However, in the end, both men had to carry Jiang Han together. The reason was simple: Jiang Han's iron armor was too damn heavy, and the short man was sweating after just a few minutes.

They estimated that the iron armor weighed at least seven or eight hundred pounds, and they wondered if Jiang Han had been knocked out by the weight.

"Ah, he's been sleeping for so long, making us his free bodyguards... This won't do, we need to charge him protection fees when he wakes up!" The man muttered, forgetting that Jiang Han had wanted to kill them before.

"Bro, do you think he'll still want to kill us when he wakes up?"

The two men leaned against the cave wall, roasting by the fire, but their eyes were on Jiang Han.

"Probably... not?" The other man's voice was uncertain. "After all, we saved him."

"I just can't understand why he wanted to kill us. Have we ever met him before?" The short man's voice was filled with frustration.

"Absolutely not!" The other man sighed. "Maybe he went crazy."

"Went crazy?" The short man was stunned, then remembered Jiang Han's previous behavior, nodding in understanding. "Indeed, it does seem like that..."

Upon reflection, Jiang Han's previous behavior really did match that of someone who had gone crazy!

His eyes were bloodshot, he was crazily attacking the ground, and then he fainted. All of these were signs of someone who had gone crazy.

In fact, Jiang Han's state at that time was indeed a result of going crazy.

The collision of two different consciousnesses almost instantly eroded his mind, driving him into a state of madness. If he hadn't fainted, the consequences would have been unpredictable.

"Ah, what a pity..." The man sighed, not sure what he was lamenting.

"Hey, he seems to be waking up!" The short man suddenly exclaimed, seeing Jiang Han's body move slightly.

"Be careful, in case he suddenly attacks!" The other man warned, unsure if Jiang Han still harbored thoughts of killing them.

Jiang Han felt a splitting headache. As the pain eased, he slowly sat up, his arm moving, making a metallic scraping sound, and he slowly supported his forehead.
