Lu Lu inwardly cursed: It was all the fault of the girls in the dormitory, with their numerous demands, making her search for so long. Otherwise, she wouldn't have been caught by him. She continued to pick out items, and after buying everything, she went to check out. At this moment, Wang Bai happened to push his cart out from another aisle, and the two met again. As soon as their eyes met, almost simultaneously, they both abandoned the nearest checkout counter and turned to the two ends.

While they were queuing, they both avoided looking at each other in the other queue. Unfortunately, they both finished checking out at the same time and met again on the escalator. As they were hesitating about who should go first, Lu Lu's phone rang. With both hands full of shopping bags, she couldn't answer it, and in the midst of her fluster, Wang Bai took one of the bags from her hand and said, "I'll hold it for you, go ahead and answer the call."

Lu Lu's face turned red like a persimmon. Seeing the caller, she answered irritably, "What is it now?"

On the other end of the line was Yu Jia from her dormitory. After a pause, she said, "What's wrong with you? You sound so angry. I just wanted to ask if you needed a ride, it seems to be raining outside."

"No need, I'll go back when the rain stops," Lu Lu replied, a bit out of sorts, and declined her roommate's offer. After hanging up, she snatched the shopping bag from Wang Bai's hand, said a flat "thanks," and took the elevator downstairs.

Wang Bai followed her down. When they reached the ground floor, Lu Lu entered the basement mall, and as he approached the exit, he heard the sound of heavy rain outside. The rain had come suddenly, and he hadn't brought an umbrella. Calling his parents to come pick him up would be a hassle, and going back up to buy an umbrella seemed a bit excessive. He looked at the rain and estimated that the heavy rain would pass quickly, so he turned back into the mall, intending to find a seat in KFC to wait.

By this time, Lu Lu had already entered KFC, ordered an ice cream, and found a seat by the window, watching the rain with some anxiety.

Wang Bai also entered KFC and ordered an ice cream, looking for a seat. However, it was peak time, and the place was packed. After wandering around for a while, he finally found the only empty seat, which happened to be across from his classmate, Lu Lu.

He had no choice but to approach and ask, "Excuse me, can I sit here? There are no other seats."

Lu Lu turned to see him, her calm face flushing slightly. After looking around, she reluctantly nodded. Wang Bai thanked her, put down his things, and sat across from her.

Both of them were concerned about the rain, but the rain continued to pour heavily. Wang Bai, trying to make conversation, asked, "Have you finished your homework?"

"Finished," Lu Lu replied softly. She was always a top student, diligent and hardworking.

"Hehe, I haven't even started," Wang Bai said. He had been running errands during breaks and had been called by the teacher to do tests during lunch, so he hadn't touched his homework.

Lu Lu glanced at him sideways, as if to say, "What's there to brag about?" Wang Bai felt a bit awkward and explained what he had been doing and why he hadn't had time for homework.

"Why are you telling me this? I'm not interested," she said with a hint of annoyance. Wang Bai felt even more awkward, thinking she was indeed cold and hard to get along with. For some reason, thinking of coldness made him recall the day she had applied medicine to him, and he couldn't help but look at her cool, small hands.

Lu Lu's fingers were long and slender, her skin fair and rosy, her nails smooth and pink, perfectly trimmed, and looked very beautiful. Just looking at her hands, she could be considered a beauty.

He stared at her hands for a while, and Lu Lu noticed. She clenched her fingers slightly, her knuckles turning white, and glared at him. "Why don't you call your family to pick you up? Your house is nearby, right?"

"Ah? Oh!" Wang Bai snapped back to reality. "It's too much trouble. By the way, wasn't that call from your dormitory? Why didn't you ask them to pick you up? It's getting dark, and the rain is heavy. It's not safe for you to go back alone."

"It's not the first time. It's just a few steps, what danger could there be?" she said dismissively, but remembering her encounter on the weekend, she felt a bit overconfident saying this, especially since she was wearing the same denim shorts from the weekend.

Wang Bai chuckled awkwardly and looked out the window. The rain had lessened, and gradually it stopped.

"It seems the rain has stopped," he said. "I'm leaving," Lu Lu said coolly, getting up and leaving. Wang Bai picked up his things and followed her out of the mall.

She walked ahead, head down, and Wang Bai kept a distance, escorting her. After a while, she turned around alertly, noticing he was following her. Her heart warmed, but she still said coldly, "Why are you following me? The school is this way, your house is the other way."

Since he was caught, he no longer tried to hide it, quickened his pace, and said, "I'll take you to the school gate. I'm not comfortable letting you go alone."

Lu Lu's lips, which were usually straight, curved slightly, and she continued walking without looking at him.

They walked for a while, and nothing happened. The street, freshly rained on, was almost deserted. As they approached the school's breakfast stall, they ran into Yu Jia, who was holding an umbrella to pick her up.

Seeing the two walking side by side, she looked surprised and said awkwardly, "Lu Lu, I was afraid it might rain again, so I came to pick you up. I didn't expect someone to be with you. Wang Bai, hello."

She clearly misunderstood that they had planned to meet at the supermarket and were now returning together. Wang Bai greeted her and said, "We happened to meet at the supermarket. I saw her alone and offered to take her back. Since you're here, I'll go back. Goodbye."

"Oh, goodbye, be careful on your way," Yu Jia smiled and said goodbye, then took one of Lu Lu's bags and asked urgently, "What's going on? Are you really dating? What about Huang Wen from Class 6?"

Lu Lu rolled her eyes, knowing she would be interrogated when she got back to the dormitory. She sighed and said, "You're overthinking it. We just happened to meet. Sister, come on, you know what I was buying. Would I invite a boy to come with me?"

"You're right," Yu Jia nodded. "Hey, did you get what I needed?"

"Got it, got it, all of it," Lu Lu replied impatiently and walked quickly.

"But he's quite a gentleman, to take you back," Yu Jia muttered, then said to herself, "Do you think he likes you?"

"What are you mumbling about?" Lu Lu frowned. "I've explained a hundred times, there's nothing between us. His girlfriend is Huang Wen."

"I feel like you're hiding something from me," Yu Jia grumbled, then said seriously, "Forget it, I won't force you to talk. But I have to remind you, if you really start dating Wang Bai, be careful. Don't let him take advantage of you. He's not as simple as he seems."

Lu Lu slowed her pace, puzzled. "What have you heard? Don't tell me some gossip, I'm tired of it."

"No," Yu Jia said mysteriously, "I heard this from a senior who graduated from Baihe Middle School. It's just a rumor, but it caused a stir at Baihe Middle School. They say that when Wang Bai was in the second year of junior high, he had a relationship with a substitute teacher in his class. The teacher was a college student doing an internship at their school. Although she only stayed for a month, she and Wang Bai were very close. The school even investigated the matter, but it was dropped. After the teacher left, the incident was forgotten."

"Rumors without evidence, just gossip. What's credible about it?" Lu Lu said dismissively. "Maybe Wang Bai was a good student, and the teacher was just kind to him."

"Rumors don't spread without a reason," Yu Jia shook her head. "Think about it, what if it's true? He was so young and had a relationship with a college student, a teacher-student relationship. How bold do you think he is? How far do you think they went? I don't think you can imagine. You're still too young. Anyway, be careful. Don't give him a chance, or he might swallow you whole."

"He's had plenty of chances," Lu Lu blurted out in a moment of panic. "I was at his house, applying medicine to him, and he even took off his shirt, and..." Her voice trailed off, regretting her slip of the tongue. "He didn't do anything to me."

Yu Jia was stunned. "There was such a thing? Looks like you've been hiding a lot, Lu Lu. Tell me, what else happened at his house? Spill the details!"

"I don't want to talk to you," Lu Lu blushed and walked away quickly.

"Don't run, Lu Lu, tell me, I promise I won't tell anyone," Yu Jia pursued. "Where did you apply the medicine? On his back? Chest? Or... his thigh? Not the inner thigh, right?"
