Amidst the petals of cherry blossoms dancing in the wind, Misaki opened the old diary and read the words of promise written there.

The giant werewolf, reeking of alcohol, charged into the battle, attacking anyone in sight without distinguishing friend from foe. Its body was massive, nearly one and a half times the size of other werewolves, especially its extremely muscular upper arms, which were almost twice as thick as those of other werewolves. The exaggerated, bulging muscles and the intertwining blue veins, resembling centipedes and earthworms, clearly demonstrated the terrifying strength of its arms!

Whether it was werewolves or humans, anyone hit by it would either die or be severely injured, immediately losing their fighting ability.

The blacksmith-turned werewolf rampaged through the battle, and Zhao Futu, standing outside the fray, had a few thoughts of his own. He had a tough childhood and was never a good kid, with a few minor flaws, such as taking small advantages when he could. Since he saw an opportunity, he wouldn't let it pass. As a child, he had almost no pocket money, and his difficult family situation made him mature early. His pocket money throughout his life was mostly earned by collecting scrap from street to street and house to house.

This was something almost unimaginable for the younger generation today. However, it was a crucial part of his life and an important source of income for buying books and stationery. Despite the different fates of people born in the same era and growing up under the same sky, Zhao Futu's family situation later improved, and he no longer had to earn pocket money by collecting scrap. However, some things from his past still lingered in his memory.

"Hisss!" Zhao Futu bit a piece of fabric from his clothes with his teeth and used it to bandage the wound on his right arm. Since the bleeding was not severe, the simple bandage with ordinary fabric stopped the continuous bleeding. Leaning against the wall, he caught his breath, slightly recovering his strength. Then, his attention was drawn to the low-level werewolves lying outside the battle. These werewolves had been attacked by the giant werewolf and thrown out of the fray with its massive claws.

Two of them were torn apart and died on the spot. However, three others, despite being severely injured and in a near-death state, were still not dead. Two of these severely injured werewolves had their spines completely twisted and were lying on the ground, unable to move. If it weren't for the slight rise and fall of their chests, Zhao Futu would have thought they were already dead. The other one was slightly less injured, with its waist bent in half, rendering its lower body immobile, but its upper body and claws could still drag it forward.

"Risk it and you might live; play it safe and you'll die!" Zhao Futu spat and cursed, "Damn it! I'll take the risk!"

With his strength slightly recovered, he picked up a short sword from the ground and quietly approached the battle. Although the giant werewolf was terrifyingly strong, its claws could only throw other werewolves about ten meters away. These severely injured werewolves were on the outskirts of the battle, about twenty meters away from the rampaging giant werewolf.

"Thud!"

Zhao Futu sneaked up to a severely injured werewolf and thrust the sword into its mouth, piercing its brain.

"Killed one low-level werewolf, gained 180 survival points! Current progress for the Wolf Slayer title: 3/10."

"Killed one low-level werewolf, gained 180 survival points! Current progress for the Wolf Slayer title: 4/10."

After killing the second severely injured werewolf, Zhao Futu noticed a faint blue glow under its body. Without time to examine it, he quickly pocketed it and then lunged at the last severely injured werewolf. Just as he was about to kill the last one and run away, a woman's scream suddenly came from behind him.

Feeling a gust of wind from behind, Zhao Futu didn't have time to think and rolled to the side.

"Thud!"

A rather strong corpse landed where Zhao Futu had been, and the migrant worker was already dead upon impact, with dark red blood oozing from his eyes, ears, mouth, and nose. The woman's scream was in response to the giant werewolf grabbing the migrant worker and throwing him toward Zhao Futu.

"Another one dead!"

Of the seven people chosen by the space, only four remained. The white-collar woman was the only one who was not injured, while the others were either injured or disabled. The glasses-wearing man, who did not need to engage in close combat, was relatively better off, but Zhao Futu and the pyramid scheme man both had one arm disabled, and the pyramid scheme man had unfortunately been infected with the werewolf virus.

"Roar!"

As if stimulated by the woman's sharp scream, the berserk giant werewolf turned its blood-red eyes toward the white-collar woman, growled, and pounced at her.

"Save... save me...!"

When the giant werewolf, covered in blood and resembling a small giant, pounced at her, she was already so frightened that her legs turned to jelly. Although she was quite charming, her willpower was only at the level of an ordinary person. Faced with such a ferocious and violent creature, she had no courage to resist and was immediately reduced to tears.

Her face pale, she mustered her last bit of strength and ran toward the glasses-wearing man, placing her last hope of survival on him.

However, the glasses-wearing man, who had protected her several times before, now retreated. Perhaps he had protected her before because it didn't cost him his life, and the white-collar woman had given him the energy-restoring potion in her hand at the start of the battle. The glasses-wearing man had no intention of sacrificing himself to protect her now.

The glasses-wearing man quickly retreated, wanting to be as far away from her as possible!

"Save...!" The white-collar woman's plea for help was cut short. Her eyes dimmed, as if she had lost all hope, and she closed her eyes in despair, falling to the ground.

The strong, pungent smell of the giant werewolf grew closer, and she could even feel its heavy breathing. But just as she closed her eyes and waited for death, the heavy breathing and the pungent smell suddenly moved away. She opened her eyes in confusion and saw that the giant werewolf had left her and pounced on Zhao Futu, who was on the outskirts of the battle!

"Run!" She heard a man's deep, angry roar, and a glimmer of hope ignited in her heart. With her last bit of will to survive, she struggled to run toward the exit.
