Chapter 93

### Today, I was troubled by a question.

That is, how far is Century Park from the Oriental Pearl Tower? I only remember that if you walk straight along Century Avenue, you will reach the Oriental Pearl Tower. This distance will determine the difficulty of the task and the likelihood of unexpected events! I went there once, but I can't remember now. I searched online for a long time but couldn't find the answer. Sometimes, when I write books, I get very fixated on certain details. So, if any readers know, please let me know!

-----------------------------------------

### Since the plan has been finalized, we will start immediately.

Zhao Futu, along with Fat Cat and Yuyan, began to clear out the zombies that might interfere with the plan in the vicinity. Meanwhile, Frog and Crown Prince worked together to study the process of blowing up the Oriental Pearl Tower and to find enough explosives. They have basically determined the position where the Oriental Pearl Tower will collapse after the explosion. This operation will require three explosions. The first explosion will destroy part of the base of the Oriental Pearl Tower, causing it to tilt. Then, they will determine the exact position of the collapse.

If the first explosion fails, the plan will be considered a failure!

However, Frog is very professional. Two of the three pillars under the Oriental Pearl Tower have already been blown up. As long as the left side is also blown up, the collapse can be controlled to fall near the former Shanghai Radio and Television Company. Zhao Futu's task is to lure out the giant zombie crocodile, leading it along Century Avenue to the base of the Oriental Pearl Tower, and then find a way to hold it in place!

It seems like a simple task, but the risks involved are not small at all.

First, Zhao Futu must ensure that he can move faster than the giant zombie crocodile. Second, he must inflict enough damage to keep it engaged. The giant zombie crocodile clearly retains a sense of territory, so Zhao Futu must lure it out while ensuring he is not caught. He must also provoke it into a fight.

The most troublesome and unpredictable part is that the process might create a lot of noise. If other zombies are attracted and interfere with Zhao Futu, the situation could be fatal! This is why he emphasized the need to clear out any nearby zombies first. He must be fully focused on dealing with the giant zombie crocodile. Even a single interruption from a zombie like a Hunter could mean certain death for him!

...

### With the target set, Zhao Futu's next task is to clear out any small monsters that might appear during the "luring" process.

He, along with Fat Cat (originally called Baoma, but everyone now calls him Fat Cat) and Yuyan, searched building by building within a 200-meter range on both sides of the road, ensuring no stragglers would appear. Due to the significant reduction in the number of zombies, they were more scattered. They cooperated to kill over fifty ordinary evolved and mutated zombies, each gaining about ten F-grade soul crystals and over a thousand survival points.

When they reached the Dongchang residential area, they finally encountered a formidable creature.

It was a Tank Mutant, larger than the two they had encountered earlier. When Zhao Futu and the others found it, it was devouring a dead Hunter. This Tank Mutant was different from the others; it had evolved further into a Tank form and had the ability to spit corrosive acid.

The Hunter had been killed by this ability!

The zombie horde in Shanghai continued to decrease, as if driven by some force. The massive zombie groups were pursuing higher-level evolution, and ordinary zombies that posed no threat to contractors were becoming fewer. Even ordinary evolved zombies were rare now. The lowest-level zombies had evolved into mutants with specialized abilities.

In addition to the Hunter mutation, there were also "Little Fats" with enhanced endurance and "Little Giants" with enhanced strength. The latter two looked similar, but the endurance mutants had smaller heads and thick layers of fat. The first Tank Mutant Zhao Futu encountered was an endurance mutant. The strength mutants, on the other hand, had massive upper bodies with twisted veins and parasitic zombie bugs in their brains, making them look like large, grotesque tumors, even more disgusting in appearance!

The further evolution of endurance and strength mutants was toward the Tyrant level, while the evolution of Hunters was similar to the mutated spider form. Overall, there were fewer Hunter mutations, with the most common being the endurance mutants. Additionally, there were zombie animal mutations, such as a small group of zombie dogs, each the size of a calf, with high speed and balanced strength, agility, and endurance, making them quite troublesome!

Even Zhao Futu had to suffer an arm injury to kill them.

At this moment,

The strength-enhanced Tank Mutant had completely devoured the Hunter. The tumor-like organ on its head writhed and extended a terrifying worm, which then burrowed back into the exposed white brain matter. The tumor began to absorb the Hunter's DNA, evolving further. In a slow writhing motion, the disgusting tumor moved to the neck and then dispersed to the heart.

Then!

"Thump! Thump!"

A strong heartbeat began to resonate. Sharp bone claws grew from its arms, and its spine made cracking sounds as its body expanded further.

The target's heartbeat accelerated. By the time Zhao Futu and the others had positioned themselves, its heart was partially exposed, similar to a Tyrant mutant, with the outer skin peeling away to reveal a slowly but powerfully beating heart and several blood vessels connected to it, all encased in a dark green gel-like substance, clearly visible with each heartbeat.

"It's a high-level Tank Mutant! It's almost evolved into a Tyrant!" Zhao Futu glanced at it, then took out a Type I zombie parasite and showed it to the two people beside him. "Don't kill it! Once it's in a near-death state, let the zombie parasite infect it. With good luck, it might directly mutate into a complete Spider Mutant."

Seeing the item Zhao Futu took out, the two people were slightly stunned, then showed a hint of joy and nodded lightly. With this item, it would be much easier to delay the giant zombie crocodile. They had seen the Spider Mutant before; its size was significant, and it could likely tangle with the giant zombie crocodile in battle for a while!

— Bang!

Yuyan leaped onto a high-rise building. She must have enhanced her jumping and climbing abilities, as she easily reached the third floor.

The heavy sniper rifle fired a loud shot, hitting the Tank Mutant's exposed heart. However, the bullet was stopped by the gel-like layer surrounding the heart, causing no significant damage.

At this moment, her calm voice came through the communication device: "The target has very high resistance and a strong damage reduction ability!"

"The exposed heart is not the true weak point! The defensive tissue in that area is very resilient!"

The shot alarmed the target. The Tank Mutant roared and charged toward Yuyan, who was exposed on the building. It ran very fast, unlike the sluggish Tank Mutant they had encountered earlier. Its agility was estimated to be around 25 points.

Boom!

The Tank Mutant crashed into the building below Yuyan, shattering the wall and causing cracks to spread. The already damaged building showed signs of collapse.

"Zzzt!"

Yuyan pressed a button on her camouflage sleeve, and a hook shot out, embedding itself in the roof of another nearby building. The rope connected to the hook quickly retracted, and she gracefully soared to the fifth floor of a building about ten meters away.

"Move!"

Zhao Futu and Fat Cat exchanged a glance and charged at the Tank Mutant, which was almost a Tyrant, from either side.

Before the action, Zhao Futu had obtained a batch of grenades from Frog. He pulled the pin and threw them under the Tank Mutant. In the dull explosion, he leaped and ran up the vertical wall! His energy rapidly drained, decreasing by two points per second. The energy transformed into true qi, flowing through his foot meridians and allowing him to adhere to the wall. He moved like a shadow, passing by the higher-level Tank Mutant!

— Clang!

The steel longsword was drawn, slicing through the air and leaving a thirty-centimeter blood trail on the Tank Mutant's neck.

The Tank Mutant's reaction speed was not fast, but the blood trail quickly disappeared as the muscles writhed. It "gurgled," and its neck swelled, then a blob of dark green, viscous liquid was spat out.

"Ha!"

Zhao Futu leaped up like an arrow, soaring about five meters high before landing with a thud.

"Zzzt!"

The wall hit by the dark green, viscous liquid quickly corroded, forming a hole.

Strong acid!!!

At this moment, Fat Cat also pounced on the Tank Mutant. He roared and swung his wooden club, his fat jiggling as his skin tightened, revealing the solid muscles hidden beneath the fat and the twisted veins. Despite his appearance, he had considerable strength!

The club, carrying a strong wind, struck the Tank Mutant's head. In the dull impact, the Tank Mutant's skull was dented, but the force transmitted through the club also split Fat Cat's palm and made his hand numb.

Fat Cat shouted in frustration: "Damn! This guy has too much resistance! His endurance might be around fifty points! My blunt weapon's stunning effect is completely nullified by his endurance!"

Zhao Futu had already retreated about ten meters. The Tank Mutant immediately locked onto Fat Cat and pounced.

"Damn!" Fat Cat dodged with exceptional agility, then took out his wine flask and shouted, "This is your fault!"

He then took large gulps of wine, seemingly preparing to use a powerful move!

### (PS: I originally wanted to write down the data for this Tank Mutant, but I was afraid of being accused of padding, so I gave up. This Tank Mutant has about 40 points of strength and endurance approaching the peak of 50 points, making it almost a Tyrant!

### Actually, writing a creature's data only takes a couple of hundred words, but editing the data takes more time.)
