Chapter 2

I was completely taken aback by Risia Divina, who suddenly collapsed and cried right in front of me.

"U-U-Uh, I'm so sorryyyyy!"

She bowed down so low that her forehead touched the ground, and apologized profusely. Then she started sobbing uncontrollably.

"Whyyyyyy!"

Her beautiful face was a mess. I was the one who wanted to cry. Her hair, which was as long as it could almost touch the ground, was a platinum blonde with a wavy texture, sparkling like scattered jewels. Her eyes were a clear blue, like a summer sky. She was so beautiful that she seemed almost otherworldly, like a goddess. Her very existence shimmered, making her seem beyond human.

Of course, she was a goddess, so it was natural that she wasn't of this world. She was dressed in a goddess-like outfit, with a thin fabric draped over her shoulders, similar to what a dragon princess or a celestial being might wear. The fabric and clothing, even without touching them, clearly felt soft and smooth, with a beautiful gradient from light pink to gold, making it evident that it was no ordinary material.

Despite this divine aura, she was sitting right in front of me, sobbing uncontrollably. It wasn't just a few tears; it was a flood. She looked like she was in her late teens or early twenties, with a stunning appearance and an excellent figure. Her skin was so clear and beautiful that it was easy to see why it was described as such. Yet, seeing her in this state, crying so loudly, was too much of a contrast and made me feel uncomfortable.

Even if she kept apologizing, I had no idea what was going on. Where was I, anyway?

This was Risia Divina's world. The sky was a clear blue, the sun was warm, and small flowers were blooming everywhere. A stream flowed gently, and in the distance, trees bore large, peach-like fruits. It was a world that could be described as a utopia.

"I couldn't save your parents! I'm so sorry! Waaaaah!"

She was still prostrating herself, her long hair touching the ground.

"Huh? I don't understand what's happening."

"Even at the age of two! Losing your parents is too much! It's too cruel! Wahahaha!"

She was sobbing again, and by the end, her words were incomprehensible. Not only were tears streaming down her face, but other fluids were as well. It was a waste of such a beautiful woman.

Seeing this, I suddenly remembered my past life.

In my past life, I was a researcher. It wasn't a particularly harsh company.

One day, I went to work and found the entrance to the lab locked with a notice posted. It said the company had gone bankrupt. My salary for that month wasn't paid. Damn.

Fortunately, I had some savings. I was thinking about finding a job that would allow me to pursue my hobbies, and I was job hunting while thinking about such things. That's where my memory ends.

"The soul of the newborn Roro was about to disappear, so I brought a suitable soul to replace it. That soul is you."

That's how it was explained to me. What a mess. What about my life? Isn't this too unreasonable?

"No, I want to go back. I have plans to go to Comiket tomorrow."

"I'm so sorry! You can't go back!"

"Wh-What? What do you mean!?"

"Ah! I'm so sorryyyyy!"

How could she just decide things like this? I had nothing to do with it. I had plans to go to Comiket with my friends and was looking forward to it. A new anime movie was also being released. And yet!

"That's why I chose someone with a weak connection to their family!"

I see, that makes sense. I did have a weak connection to my family.

My mother remarried, and my stepfather had two children. I felt like I didn't have a place in the family.

So, I insisted on living alone after university. Since then, I rarely heard from my parents. Still, they paid for my tuition, which I was grateful for.

During my university years, I worked part-time all the time. I was always short on money and often hungry.

Well, part of the reason I was short on money was because I spent it on my hobbies. Hobbies can be a bottomless pit, can't they?

Still, I enjoyed living without worrying about others. After becoming an adult, my life became more comfortable, and I could enjoy my hobbies with my friends. And yet, I was suddenly reincarnated for such an unreasonable reason.

The anger from two years ago resurfaced. Without thinking, I glared at the crying goddess in front of me.

"I-I-I'm so sorryyyyy! Waaaaah!"

In front of me, the goddess of creation was sobbing again. I couldn't believe she could still be a supreme deity.

"P-P-Please! I can't say it! I'm so sorryyyyy!"

What couldn't she say? It was confusing to be asked this.

"I can't say the details! But I will send an apology! I'm so sorryyyyy!"

She couldn't say the details, but she would send an apology? I couldn't understand.

"Anyway, I just want you to live safely! I can't say more right now!"

Then, everything went white, and I woke up. That self-proclaimed goddess of creation had made a decision on her own, called me, and sent me back on her own. I was a bit tired, even though I had been sleeping. I was two years old. What was I supposed to do? I was still a child!

As I was in a daze in bed, my cheek was licked. It was a big tongue, rough and a bit painful.

Suddenly, I saw a pair of large, round eyes looking at me.

"Woof"

"Huh... woof woof?"

Then, another lick. It was a big tongue attack.

"Ah!"

"Woof"

More licking, more licking.

"Stop it, my tongue hurts."

"Kuuu"

Next to me, a large dog had appeared. It was about two meters long, lying down and licking my face.

"Phew... stop it."

Its fur was fluffy and platinum blonde. Its round, sky-blue eyes seemed to be slightly droopy. Was this the same color as the sobbing goddess? The dog's fluffy tail was wagging. It looked like a large dog that could be found in the Alps.

It was staring at me intently with slightly droopy eyes.

"Could the 'apology' the goddess mentioned be this dog?"

"Woof"

Is this for real!? Isn't it too big? Is it a dog? I don't know.
