Chapter 4

Upon returning to the room, it didn’t seem like Caesar had returned yet.

‘If only I could just live like this without having to look at his face…’

I was rolling in bed with that thought and drifted off before I realized.

“Lord…Lord Louie.”

“Uu…ah?”

As I opened my eyes, Caesar stood right in front of me.

He wasn’t in his knight uniform. I’ve never seen him in such a casual outfit so it was new for me.

“Ahh, please excuse me. It seems like I fell asleep.”

“I don’t mind, but…”

Caesar sounded troubled for some reason.

“If you sleep in the middle like that, where am I going to sleep?”

Huh?

Certainly, there’s a big bed in this room.

I’ve always slept there ever since I lived in this room.

But Harith slept on the big sofa next to it.

……I sure was loved by him.

Logically speaking, I should be the one sleeping on the sofa since I have a smaller stature, but Harris was kind enough to give up his bed for me. He said that he’d feel bad if I couldn’t sleep well.

When I was younger, I’d be spoiled by my cousin’s attitude every single time we met with each other.

I wonder what Caesar would say if I told him to sleep on the sofa.

On one hand, there’s a chief and on the other hand, there’s a demoted pseudo physician.

“Have you always been sleeping on the bed?”

“Uhh……Yes……But I’ll be going to the sofa, so……”

“No need. Your body is weak. I’d be troubled if your body breaks.”

“……? Sure……”

Does that mean that Caesar’s going to the sofa?

–Was what I expected, but he suddenly slid under the quilt.

I-it can’t be that we’re sleeping together?

“Even if this bed is this big, I never thought that you’d be sleeping together with the previous chief.”

No, we didn’t.

But it’s not like I can tell him that I chased Harith out of his bed and made him sleep on the sofa while I had the whole bed to myself.

While I was being confused, Caesar was getting ready to sleep.

He turned off the light and turned on the small night lamp by the bedside.

“I’ll sleep first.”

“Ah, sure……”

Actually, I haven’t changed after coming back from work.

“Excuse me, I’ll be changing into my pajamas.”

It’s a special pajama from a bedding shop at the royal capital. It’s made out of the finest silk and its smooth texture feels great.

I spent quite a lot of money so I could wear them frequently.

I value my bedtime a lot!

The fluffy bed and quilt in this room are pretty good.

They probably wouldn’t provide such high-class bedding in a mere physician’s room.

That’s one of the reasons why I’m glad to be in the same room as Harith.

Therefore, I definitely don’t intend to sleep on the sofa!

“O-oi! I’ll be facing the other side, okay!”

The moment I took my coat off, I heard Caesar’s flustered voice.
