However, Lee Shin-haeng and Hyori had done their homework early and chose the most popular island for honeymoons—Honeymoon Island.

Honeymoon Island (Meeru), officially known as Meerufenfushi, is 1.2 kilometers long and 500 meters wide, located on the eastern edge of the North Male Atoll, near Kanifushi, Paradise Island, and Full Moon Island. It is one of the earliest developed large islands in the Maldives. The pearl-like white sand and beautiful sea scenery, the tranquil blue, and the sunny mood make it a great place for honeymoons and tourism. There are speedboats running between Male Airport and the island.

Upon arriving at Honeymoon Island, everything seems so unreal. You will be amazed by the blue sky, white sand, and clear water, almost forgetting that you are right in the middle of it. On this island that is so beautiful it makes you dizzy, you will find that being single is shameful, as this is a paradise for couples.

Whether lying on a beach chair under the coconut trees, strolling on the silver sand, or diving in the sea, the main characters of this beautiful scenery are always couples.

During their honeymoon, they also tried several famous local dishes, including fried fish balls, tuna and coconut cooked into Gula, spicy fish cake (KuliBoakiba), coconut milk and white rice pudding (FoniBoakiba), and a sweet milk drink called KiruSarbat.

They also tried a local specialty called the Maldives Lady cocktail, which Hyori particularly enjoyed.

The Maldives Lady (The Maldive Lady) is a strong, fragrant cocktail with different recipes in each tourist island's bar.

May and June are the low season in the Maldives, with fewer tourists. Before their trip, Lee Shin-haeng had already booked a water bungalow on Honeymoon Island.
