Chapter 61: Liu Zaishi's Summoning

When they first arrived at Honeymoon Island, they happened to meet the locals clearing coconut trees. For some reason, they gave us the freshly picked coconuts. Perhaps they thought we had good character, hahaha! They even cut them open with a machete for us to enjoy the delicious coconut flesh!!! The juice and the flesh were the freshest we had ever tasted! The locals were so warm and welcoming!

The overwater bungalows were very comfortable, with ample space. Lying on the bed and looking out at the emerald sea was an indescribable feeling. In the evenings, when the balcony lights were on, many colorful fish would swim over, making it a beautiful sight! Every morning, without even getting out of bed, one could see the vast blue sea, and a short walk would take you to the sea for a swim. At night, you could enjoy the beautiful sunset from the balcony.

The place women love most on Honeymoon Island is the spa. It costs about 70 dollars per person for an hour, and Hyori said it felt great. However, Lee Shin-haeng chose to try the 15-minute free massage provided by the hotel, as men don't usually care much about such things.

During these few days, they tried exotic cuisine, swimming, water sports, surfing, sea fishing, snorkeling, massage, and even went out to sea to see dolphins. However, due to Hyori's album, their honeymoon was only ten days long. Although they were reluctant to leave, they had to return to Korea to continue her work. Hyori said that if she had the time, she would definitely come back to the Maldives for a vacation, as the place was too beautiful and enjoyable.

"Minya, Mi-yeong, these are the gifts I brought back from the Maldives for you." Lee Shin-haeng handed over the bag he was carrying.

Just a couple of days after returning from their honeymoon in the Maldives, Lee Shin-haeng received a call from Liu Zaishi, saying he had something to discuss with him. So today, he came to the café and even brought gifts for Park Min-ya and the others.

"Everyone says the Maldives is a honeymoon paradise. How was your trip? Tell us about it," Park Min-ya asked with interest.

Mi-yeong also promptly poured a cup of latte, Lee Shin-haeng's favorite, for him.

Since Liu Zaishi hadn't arrived yet and there weren't many customers at this time, they had nothing better to do, so Lee Shin-haeng started chatting with them about his trip to the Maldives, sharing some of the things he saw and the interesting local stories.

About half an hour later, Liu Zaishi finally arrived.

"I'm really sorry, Shin-haeng, for making you wait. The program recording was delayed a bit," Liu Zaishi apologized as soon as he arrived.

"It's fine, Zaishi-ssi. We were just chatting. Let's go to the backyard, Mi-yeong, two cups of coffee," Lee Shin-haeng said casually.

Once they were in the lounge and had just sat down on the sofa, Lee Shin-haeng asked Liu Zaishi, "Brother, what did you want to talk to me about? You didn't say on the phone."

Liu Zaishi looked at Lee Shin-haeng and said, "It's like this. The variety show I'm hosting on SBS, 'Miracle Victory Master,' isn't doing well, and they want to replace it with a new program, and they've asked me to be the main MC of the new show."

"Oh..." Lee Shin-haeng was a bit confused. What did this have to do with him?

Ignoring his reaction, Liu Zaishi continued, "The new show is a more relaxed outdoor variety show..."

"Like that 'One Day' or 'Two Days' show?" Lee Shin-haeng interrupted to ask.

"It's 'Two Days & One Night,'" Liu Zaishi explained. "While it also focuses on travel, it's not as intense and competitive as 'Two Days & One Night.' This show emphasizes the warm interactions among the members, like a regular family in real life, with occasional arguments and jokes, which are the main highlights of the show."

"That sounds interesting. Tell me more, Brother," Lee Shin-haeng said, showing some interest.

Liu Zaishi took out a file from his bag and placed it on the table. "Here's the show's information. Take a look."

"Is this considered a leak? Are they going to arrest me for being an accomplice?" Lee Shin-haeng joked, looking at the file on the table.

Liu Zaishi gave him a look but didn't say anything, just picked up his coffee and took a sip.

Seeing that he wasn't responding, Lee Shin-haeng shrugged and picked up the file to read it.

"Family Birth?" Lee Shin-haeng muttered as he read the first page and continued flipping through.

The file wasn't long, only about ten pages, and Lee Shin-haeng quickly finished reading it.

In simple terms, the show involves a group of artists forming a family. The production team finds a willing elderly family in the countryside, and the TV station pays for them to go on a trip. In exchange, the family members must help manage the farm and take care of the house for two days and one night.

Lee Shin-haeng thought the main selling points of the show were two: one, watching the celebrities, who have never done farm work, make funny mistakes; and two, the selection of popular guest artists for each episode.

"It looks like it could be fun. But, Brother, are you sure you can handle being the MC of this show? It's clear that there will be tasks like catching fish in the river, feeding pigs, and catching chickens," Lee Shin-haeng knew his brother was quite timid, and while dead fish might be okay, live ones? Ha...

Liu Zaishi smiled awkwardly, feeling helpless about his timid nature. He could imagine being teased during the filming.

"Alright, no more jokes. But why are you showing me this show's plan, Brother? Do you want my advice?" Lee Shin-haeng asked.

Liu Zaishi didn't answer immediately. "The production team has already discussed some potential members for the show and is in contact with their agencies. Two people have already been invited, and they are people you know well."

"Two? Who are they?"

"One is Kim Soo-ro, Soo-ro-ssi."

"Oh! Soo-ro-ssi? He's not making movies anymore, so he's hosting a variety show?" Even though he didn't follow the entertainment industry closely, he knew that actors in Korea were generally considered to have a higher status than singers and rarely participated in variety shows. So Kim Soo-ro joining this show surprised him.

"I'm not sure about that, but who's the next person, are you curious?" Liu Zaishi asked with a mischievous smile.

"Another person I know?"

"Lee, Hyori, your newlywed wife." Liu Zaishi slowly said the name.

"Ah?" Lee Shin-haeng's mouth dropped open in surprise as he looked at Liu Zaishi.

He never thought Hyori would join this show.

But after a moment of shock, Lee Shin-haeng quickly realized, "You didn't go to persuade Hyori, did you?"

Liu Zaishi admired his quick thinking. "Although I did talk to Hyori, and I played a part, the main reason is Hyori's own decision. I think she joined to make a comeback and maintain her popularity."

"I won't interfere with Hyori's work. So, what did you want to talk to me about today, Brother?"
