Chapter 6

When I woke up in the morning, a paper crane was floating there.

It was the paper crane I had gotten from the 10-roll gacha on the first day of my confinement.

I couldn't believe my eyes, but the paper crane was indeed floating gently. However, no matter how I touched it or tried to block its path, it showed no particular reaction and just floated. I concluded that the paper crane probably had no intelligence and was just floating.

Why did the administrators add such a useless feature?

Well, well.

The login bonus for the third day was a guaranteed food item coin. It was probably distributed in a hurry because many users, like me, were on the verge of starving to death.

When I manifested it, it was a bright brown coin, possibly made of copper. On the front, there was a mark of crossed spoon and fork. On the back, there was a mark of what is known as manga meat, a bone-in meat.

Now, let's try the gacha. First, the daily free gacha.

Clank

R『Gacha Effect 08』

R! It's the second rare item. I wish it would materialize into something useful, but nothing does.

However, the gacha effect. If it's 08, there must be 01 to 07 as well.

But more importantly, food. Please, I need something to eat, not tools or cans!

Ching!

When I inserted the coin, the lighting seemed to turn off, making the surroundings dim, and then the gacha started to glow! A golden magic circle spread out centered on the discharge port. There were words written on it, but I couldn't read them; they were unknown characters.

Wait, this is the gacha effect?!

I don't need it!

Clank

A capsule was discharged, the magic circle disappeared, and the surroundings brightened up.

Hmm, is this gacha just full of junk?

Upon checking, I found that the system had added settings, allowing me to choose and shorten the effects. I decided to shorten them.

UC『Ramen Shop [Shiryu] Large + Takeout Char Siu』

It didn't fall as usual but materialized with a thud. A wooden tray loaded with a mountain of ramen.

The dense, gamey smell of pork bone broth hit my nose, sending a shock to my brain, which hadn't eaten anything for a whole day.

I grabbed the chopsticks and ate without thinking. I hadn't eaten anything but water yesterday. I cried. I never knew ramen could be so delicious.

Admittedly, starting the day with a heavy ramen like this was tough. So I left about a third for lunch. The noodles were soggy from the soup, but they were still delicious. I drank all the broth.

I saved the char siu for tomorrow.

『Paper Crane』

A paper crane that appeared from the 10-roll gacha on the first day. It is red on the front and white on the back. It is beautifully folded, almost like a work of art. For some reason, it started moving, floating gently.

『Gacha Effect』

A type of effect that appears when the gacha is spun. A golden magic circle appears when the capsule is discharged. Shortening the effect is possible from the system window. There are at least eight effects, as it is labeled 08. I shortened it because it was annoying.

『Ramen Shop Shiryu Large Set + Souvenir』

A large ramen with extra oil, a mountain of vegetables like cabbage and bean sprouts, lots of garlic, thick slices of char siu, and extra-thick noodles in a rich pork and seafood broth. Comes with white rice. As a souvenir, Shiryu's special char siu is included. I was happy to find that a spoon, chopsticks, a rice bowl, a ramen bowl, and a tray were also included.

Eight billion people felt sympathy.

The whole world saw the sight of a grown man, Yamada Ryu, crying while eating ramen.

In a TV interview, the owner of Shiryu said, "It looks exactly like Shiryu's ramen, but I have no memory of providing it."

Shiryu became a four-hour wait due to the reputation of being so delicious that it made people cry.

"Is Van Gogh's Sunflowers a genuine work?!"

French intellectuals, believing that Van Gogh's Sunflowers is highly likely to be genuine, requested that Mr. Yamada issue a quest.

However, the French government responded that Mr. Yamada cannot do so because he has not unlocked the quest function.

The unlocking of Mr. Yamada's quest function is eagerly awaited.
