Ten minutes later, Chen Mo sat beside a small forest outside the school gate, with a handkerchief wrapped around his head.

The little girl sat beside him, head lowered. After a moment of silence, she whispered, "You really aren't going to see a doctor?"

Chen Mo, with red-rimmed eyes, clearly having just cried, sniffed and said, "No!"

The little girl whispered, "Why not..."

Chen Mo said angrily, "You don't have any money! Do you want me to pay for it myself!"

Chen Mo still had a few yuan, which he had planned to use to buy snacks. How could he bear to spend it on a doctor?

The little girl pouted and said, "Didn't I tell you... you can pay first... I'll bring the money tomorrow, okay?"

Chen Mo said indignantly, "Do you think I'm so easy to fool! What if you don't come tomorrow?"

He continued, "What about your parents? Let them take responsibility!"

The little girl's eyes welled up at this, and she started to cry before she could speak.

Chen Mo was taken aback and said, puzzled, "Why are you crying...?"

The little girl sobbed and whispered, "My parents are already divorced... sniff... they don't want me anymore... I'm living with my grandmother now..."

The little girl burst into tears, looking extremely sad.

Chen Mo was flustered by the little girl's crying and said helplessly, "Hey... stop crying, okay?"

The little girl wouldn't listen. Chen Mo scratched his head and said, "As long as you stop crying, I won't ask for compensation... and I won't ask your parents to take responsibility, okay?"

The little girl stopped crying and blinked her big, tear-filled eyes, saying, "Are you really sure?"

Chen Mo sighed slightly and said, "Of course I am. I'm a man of my word."

The little girl's tears turned to a smile, "Thank you, big brother!"

Seeing the little girl smile, Chen Mo breathed a sigh of relief. Thinking about his injured head, he felt a bit dejected and said, "It's getting late. Let's go home. Here's your handkerchief. Don't be so impulsive in the future, or others might not be as forgiving."

Chen Mo was about to leave when the little girl reached out and grabbed his arm, saying, "Big brother, can I bring you lots of delicious snacks tomorrow? Can we meet here at the same time tomorrow?"

Chen Mo thought to himself: I still don't know your name, how can I trust you?

He nodded perfunctorily and said, "Sure, I'll go home first. You should go back too, so your family doesn't worry."

The little girl smiled and nodded, "Okay, see you tomorrow!"

The little girl waved at Chen Mo with the blood-soaked handkerchief. Chen Mo saw the bright red blood on the white handkerchief and felt a chill. He turned and ran away quickly.

When Chen Mo got home, he told his parents that the injury on his head was from an accidental bump. They were very concerned and disinfected the wound with iodine, then bandaged it with gauze. The matter was thus settled.

The next day, Chen Mo naturally forgot about the little girl's words. After school, he went straight home. As soon as he arrived, thunder rumbled, and a heavy rain started pouring down.

Chen Mo looked at the heavy rain outside and thought, "Good thing I got back in time, or I would have been drenched."

He then sat down at the table and focused on his homework.

In the following days, nothing unusual happened. Chen Mo's life returned to its usual state. He still went to the convenience store after school to buy a pack of Beijing instant noodles to satisfy his craving. On the fifth day, when Chen Mo went to buy the noodles again, he encountered the same situation.

"What? The instant noodles are sold out again?"

Chen Mo opened his eyes wide and looked at the shop owner, saying in disbelief, "There were still over ten packs yesterday. Did they all sell out in one night? There's no stock left?"

The shop owner, who was already very familiar with the boy who came to buy instant noodles every day, smiled and said, "Do you remember that little girl from last time? She bought all the Beijing instant noodles in the store. This afternoon, she came back and bought them all again."

Chen Mo remembered the little girl and couldn't help but wonder, "No way. Didn't she say she was sick of eating Beijing instant noodles? Why is she doing this?"

The answer was revealed the next morning. During the third class, a little girl in a pink dress walked to the classroom door. She looked at the class sign and asked the teacher, "Hello, teacher, is there a boy in your class who is a bit dark-skinned—"

The little girl, dressed up beautifully, looked stunning. She had just started speaking when she saw Chen Mo sitting in the first row of the second group. Chen Mo also saw her, and their eyes met. Chen Mo's eyes were full of surprise and confusion, while the little girl's eyes were full of joy.

The teacher, seeing how cute and polite the little girl was, asked kindly, "Little girl, who are you looking for?"

The little girl smiled, showing her white teeth, and pointed at Chen Mo, saying, "I'm looking for him."

The whole class, including the teacher, followed the little girl's finger and saw Chen Mo. The teacher then asked curiously, "What do you need Chen Mo for?"

The little girl smiled sweetly and said, "I owe him something. I'm here to return it. Teacher, can I have a moment with him?"

The teacher smiled and nodded, "Chen Mo, go out for a moment."

For some reason, although the little girl was smiling brightly, Chen Mo felt there was something else in her smile. As he walked out of the classroom, he couldn't help but ask, "Aren't you in class? Why are you looking for me now?"

The little girl looked around to make sure no one was around, then pulled Chen Mo forward. They walked to the school gate, where Chen Mo saw a black car parked. He didn't recognize the brand, but from its appearance, he knew it must be expensive.

A well-dressed woman stood beside the car. Seeing the little girl and Chen Mo approach, she smiled and said, "Feifei, is this the big brother who encouraged you?"

The little girl smiled and nodded, "Yes, Mom, he is—"

She then asked softly, "Big brother, what's your name?"

Chen Mo, feeling a bit nervous at the sight of the woman and the car, said, "I'm Chen... Chen Mo..."

The little girl was taken aback and then giggled, "Chen Mo? That's a funny name."

Chen Mo, feeling his face heat up, corrected her, "It's not the 'Chen Mo' you're thinking of. It's 'Chen' as in 'ear and east,' and 'Mo' as in 'silent and unknown.'"

Chen Mo had clearly explained his name many times before, so he spoke smoothly. The little girl smiled and nodded, "I'm Liu Fei. To thank you, I bought you a lot of Beijing instant noodles."

The woman heard this and opened the car's trunk, revealing several neatly stacked boxes of Beijing instant noodles. Chen Mo was stunned and asked, "What... what are you thanking me for?"

Liu Fei then said to her mother, "Mom, can we have a moment alone?"
