After the noblewoman had left far away, Liu Fei whispered, "Do you still remember the incident where I broke your head? That day, I said I would wait for you at the usual place the next day and bring you some delicious food."

Chen Mo nodded and said, "I remember."

Liu Fei, curious, asked, "If you remember, why didn't you come the next day?"

Chen Mo was taken aback for a moment, then stammered, "I... I saw the weather was bad, so I didn't go. Did you really go?"

Liu Fei smiled and nodded, "Yes, I went and was caught in the rain all night, almost getting a high fever and dying."

As Liu Fei said these words, she didn't show any sign of anger. Chen Mo opened his eyes wide and said, "You really went! It was raining so heavily... You didn't get angry at me for that?"

Liu Fei laughed and said, "At first, I was very angry. After my parents divorced, I was always unhappy. You didn't keep your promise that day, and I felt like the whole world had abandoned me!"

Such words shouldn't come from a six or seven-year-old girl. Clearly, she had become very mature due to her parents' divorce.

Chen Mo, puzzled, asked, "What happened later?"

Liu Fei, happy, said, "Because I didn't come home all night, my parents were alarmed. Later, my grandmother found me and took me to the hospital. In the hospital, I saw my parents. They thought I was depressed because of their divorce, so they agreed to get back together. Although it started badly, it ended well, so I want to thank you."

Chen Mo, a bit embarrassed, scratched his head and said, "Actually, I didn't help much... You should take these gifts home."

Liu Fei smiled and said, "This is to make up for breaking your head. I'm really sorry. I wasn't like that before my parents divorced. I became so irritable after that. Now I'm going back to my original home, so you don't have to worry about me breaking your head anymore!"

Liu Fei then took out a box of lollipops from the car and handed it to Chen Mo, saying, "Eating too much instant noodles isn't good; it can make you feel nauseous. This box of lollipops is for you to change your taste. Brother Chen Mo, I'll come to see you again in the future!"

Chen Mo, looking at Liu Fei's sunny smile, laughed foolishly...

After that, Chen Mo never saw Liu Fei again, but her shadow remained in his heart, and over the years, he would often think of her words: "I'll come to see you again in the future!"

But many years had passed, and Liu Fei never appeared again. Perhaps because of Liu Fei, Chen Mo had no interest in other female classmates.

Recalling the past, he sighed and walked towards the main road. When he returned to the group, he heard many classmates discussing where to go after the high school entrance exam. Wang Xiaorui, seeing him return, asked again, "Classmate Chen Mo, do you have any suggestions for us?"

Chen Mo looked at Wang Xiaorui's sparkling eyes and immediately averted his gaze, saying, "I'm not going, so I won't give any suggestions. I wish you all have fun."

Wang Xiaorui's eyes lost their sparkle at his words, and Chen Mo continued walking as if nothing had happened.

Because Chen Mo said he wasn't going, the whole class's mood immediately sank. The girls spoke very little, while the boys who didn't understand the situation continued to chat and laugh.

Two days later, the high school entrance exam ended.

Chen Mo organized his achievements at home. He first sold the plastic and copper cores in his hands, then transported five assembled old TVs to Chen Lao's shop.

Seeing Chen Mo bring several TVs, Chen Lao asked curiously, "Xiao Mo, where did you get these TVs?"

Chen Mo chuckled and said, "Grandpa Chen, these TVs are assembled from discarded electronic components. I want to sell them here. Is that okay?"

Chen Lao, with wide eyes and an incredulous look, said, "What did you say? These TVs are assembled from that pile of junk?!"

Seeing Chen Lao's shocked expression, Chen Mo nodded humbly, "Yes, where else would I get so many TVs? Grandpa Chen, will you let me sell them here?"

Chen Lao was stunned for a moment before nodding, "Of course, no problem... How much do you want to sell each TV for?"

Chen Mo smiled and held up three fingers, "Three hundred yuan per TV, is that not too expensive?"

Chen Lao looked at the TVs, which were polished to a shine, and nodded, "Not too expensive—Xiao Mo, can these TVs still be used?"

Chen Mo said confidently, "I don't think there will be any problems. I still have some repaired parts. If anyone wants to buy, you can tell them it comes with a one-year warranty."

Chen Lao sighed and patted Chen Mo's head, "I never thought you had such skills. You're a master now."

Chen Mo smiled, "Grandpa Chen, don't praise me too much, or I'll get arrogant."

Chen Mo moved the TVs to Chen Lao's shop and arranged them, then rode his tricycle home.

The weather was extremely hot that day. It was still noon, and the scorching sun had already made the ground scorching hot. On his way home, Chen Mo passed by a small convenience store. Seeing the ice cabinet at the entrance, he could imagine how refreshing the ice pops inside were. However, thinking about saving money to buy a computer, he could only swallow his saliva and pedal his tricycle home.

After returning home, Chen Mo started counting the money he had earned.

The plastic and copper cores sold for 1,800 yuan. If he added the money from the TVs, he had 3,300 yuan in total. After deducting the 1,700 yuan cost, he had earned 1,600 yuan.

1,600 yuan was far from enough to buy a computer. Chen Mo opened his backpack, looked at the silver blocks inside, and sighed, "Even if I sell this, it's still a long way off. How can I earn the rest of the money?"

Chen Mo thought for a long time but couldn't come up with a good idea. If there were still discarded parts at Chen Lao's place, he could use the same method to earn money, but he had already bought out all the stock from the past ten years, so this method was no longer feasible.

Working part-time would pay too little, and he wouldn't save much money by the time high school started. It seemed that to quickly earn this amount, he would have to take a shortcut.

By "taking a shortcut," it means not following the proper way to make money, such as robbing or stealing. Chen Mo obviously wouldn't do such things. What other low-risk shortcuts were there?

Chen Mo thought for a moment and had an idea. He slapped his thigh and said, "We can go gambling!"
