Due to the large number of passengers boarding and alighting, the aisle became somewhat chaotic and crowded. A young man, about the same age as Ye Lingtian, with a round, flat haircut, wearing a black round-necked shirt, a pair of sunglasses, and a thick gold necklace around his neck, followed the crowd to Ye Lingtian's seat. He checked his ticket, lifted his suitcase onto the luggage rack, and then sat down.

The young man took off his sunglasses, glanced around, and seeing that Ye Lingtian looked like a student, he smiled friendly and asked loudly, "Dude, are you also going to college?"

Hearing this, Ye Lingtian turned his head to look at him. He saw that the young man was not very tall but had well-developed muscles, giving off a sturdy impression. However, his attire easily made one think of a gangster.

Eyeing the young man warily, Ye Lingtian saw his smile was very sincere and nodded slightly, smiling, "Yeah, I'm going to Yanjing University."

"Ah, what a coincidence! I'm also at Yanjing University, in the Chinese Literature Department. My name is Yao Lei, from Hexi Dengzhou. What about you?" The young man exclaimed in surprise, slapping his thigh.

Ye Lingtian hadn't expected such a coincidence and widened his eyes, "Really, that's a coincidence. I'm also in the Chinese Literature Department. My name is Ye Lingtian, from Jiangnan Linzhou."

Since both were admitted to Yanjing University and were in the same department, they quickly became familiar with each other. With company, the journey was no longer lonely. As they chatted, the train had already arrived at Yanjing West Station.

Thinking about soon stepping into the sacred halls of the university, both were quite excited and looked invigorated. They stood up, stretched their slightly numb limbs, picked up their luggage, and walked briskly toward the exit with the crowd.

Upon exiting the West Station, they saw a bustling square filled with staff from various schools, holding up signs to welcome new students and shouting loudly.

Most of those exiting the station were new students and their parents who had come to see them off. Their faces were filled with excitement and joy, and the entire square was filled with a festive atmosphere.

Yao Lei led Ye Lingtian through the dense crowd, searching for the Yanjing University welcome point.

"I see the Yanjing University welcome point over there!" Yao Lei pointed excitedly and pulled Ye Lingtian toward it.

The welcome point was just a few tables and chairs with a banner, and a few buses parked nearby.

After showing their admission notices to the staff for verification, the two boarded the bus. There were already over a dozen new students on the bus, chatting excitedly. Ye Lingtian and Yao Lei didn't join in the excitement and sat down in the empty seats at the back.

"By the way, how did you know the Yanjing University welcome point was behind the crowd?" Ye Lingtian looked at Yao Lei, a bit curious.

"My sister told me. She started college two years ago, but not in Yanjing. The ones shouting loudly at the front are usually staff from private schools; prestigious universities don't join in this commotion," Yao Lei said proudly.

Before long, the bus was full of new students. The driver closed the door and shouted, "Students, please sit down, we're leaving!" The bus slowly started and left the station.

Sitting by the window, Ye Lingtian curiously observed the wide road with vehicles moving slowly like ants, the towering buildings on both sides, and the surging crowds. The grand and majestic atmosphere hit him, and a surge of heroism welled up in his heart. He couldn't help but shout in his heart, "Yanjing University, I'm coming!"

The bus left the West Station and soon entered the Third Ring Road, heading north for about an hour before reaching Yanjing University.

Yanjing University, abbreviated as Yan Da, covers an area of over 30,000 square kilometers, with more than 30,000 students of various types. It is the first national university in modern China and is widely recognized as the highest institution of learning in the country.

Ye Lingtian got off the bus and looked around, drawing a sharp breath. The area outside the school gate was densely packed with people, at least several times more than at the train station square.

Yao Lei also saw this and widened his eyes, "My goodness, this is terrifying!"

"What do we do?" Ye Lingtian was worried. With so many people, it would be difficult to get in.

"What else can we do? We have to push through! Hold your things tight and follow me!" Yao Lei frowned and pulled Ye Lingtian into the crowd.

For some reason, people in the crowd moved aside when they encountered Yao Lei, and Ye Lingtian didn't have to exert much effort following behind.

"Yao Lei, why do people move aside when they see you? Have you practiced martial arts?" Seeing Yao Lei so relaxed and barely sweating, even if Ye Lingtian were stupid, he could tell that Yao Lei must have some skills.

Thinking about his own physical condition, if he were to push through like Yao Lei, he would probably spend a lot of time and effort even if he managed to get in.

Yao Lei didn't hide it, scratching the back of his head and laughing, "Not really, I just learned some basic skills from my dad when I was young."

Learned some basic skills? Ye Lingtian naturally didn't believe it. Suddenly, he remembered that Yao Lei was from Dengzhou, and Shaolin Temple was in Dengzhou.

"Yao Lei, you're so impressive, are you a lay disciple of Shaolin Temple?" Ye Lingtian said teasingly.

"Stop kidding around! I never thought of becoming a monk! I was forced by my dad to learn, and it's a family tradition," Yao Lei glared at Ye Lingtian and said irritably.

"7,000 for tuition, 2,000 for books, 2,000 for accommodation, and 1,500 for miscellaneous fees. Total: 12,500..." The teacher in charge of collecting fees took Ye Lingtian's admission notice, checked the computer, and said mechanically.

Despite choosing a less crowded registration point, Ye Lingtian and Yao Lei still had to wait for over an hour under the scorching sun before it was their turn. After registering, they found out they were assigned to the same dorm room.

"Ha! Ye Lingtian, it seems we have a special connection. This is destined to be a brotherhood! Let's go to the dorm, we haven't met the other two roommates yet!" Yao Lei laughed and pulled Ye Lingtian toward the dormitory building.

Every year, Yanjing University admits so many new students, and Ye Lingtian and Yao Lei not only sat together on the train but were also assigned to the same dorm room. Ye Lingtian couldn't help but laugh, thinking this was indeed a special connection.

Following the signs along the road, they found their dormitory building. The area around the dormitory was well-landscaped, and the Student Dining Hall No. 1 was nearby. However, when Ye Lingtian saw the new students running around the dormitory in bare torsos and shorts, he couldn't help but sweatdrop: "These are the so-called elites?"

Climbing up to the fifth floor, they opened the door to Room 506. The dorm room was in a mess, empty and showing signs of the brutal departure of the previous students. No one was in the room, indicating that the other two roommates hadn't arrived yet. Looking around, the beds were bunk beds, with the lower bunks converted into desks and wardrobes.
