In fact, when Hugo reached his hand into the blanket, he realized something was wrong. After all, it was impossible for him to have a mobile phone on him now. In this era, even the first generation of brick-like mobile phones were rare, let alone the smartphones he used in his previous life.

However, to his surprise, his hand really touched a hard object when he reached into the blanket. When he took out this hard object, he was astonished to find that it was the mobile phone he had with him when he had the car accident.

"What is this? A superpower or magic?" Hugo looked at the phone in his hand, unable to believe it. After all, it was impossible for such a phone to exist in this era. After pulling aside the curtain at the entrance of the ward and making sure no one was paying attention, he focused on the phone in his hand.

After carefully examining the external condition of the phone, he pressed the power button with his slightly trembling thumb. With a slight vibration, the phone screen lit up.

Hugo looked at the phone screen with excitement, but after five minutes, the phone still maintained a white screen without any changes, looking as if it had frozen.

After waiting for another three minutes, Hugo gently tapped the still unresponsive phone. Suddenly, the screen that had been pretending to be dead turned blue, and a large number of characters, both familiar and unfamiliar, quickly rolled across the screen, while the phone continued to vibrate.

"Damn, is it broken?" Seeing this, he broke out in a cold sweat. After all, this phone might be his golden finger, and if it broke, it would be a real problem. While he was checking the phone back and forth, it suddenly emitted a series of buzzing electrical sounds. Hearing this, Hugo immediately turned the phone around to face himself and was surprised to see a small, white, tender arm extending from the now pure blue screen.

"Sadako!" Hugo's eyes widened when he saw the arm, but he was reluctant to drop the phone. After all, this phone might be his golden finger, and without it, what difference would he be from a salted fish? To avoid being a salted fish, Hugo held the phone tightly and stared at the screen, suppressing his inner fear.

Of course, this wasn't purely because of his bravery. The fact that it was daytime and the hand was very small was the main reason Hugo could remain so calm.

"Admiral, please help me, this barrier is really hard to break through," said the owner of the small arm as she poked her head out of the screen, with messy silver hair. The "female ghost" who looked more and more like Sadako spoke in a mature female voice that didn't match her appearance at all.

"What's going on?" Hugo frowned. He had thought the situation might develop into a horror movie, but it didn't seem to be the case now.

"May I ask who you are?" Seeing that the small creature crawling out of the phone screen could communicate, Hugo took a deep breath and asked.

"My name is Victory. I am the Victory-class sailing battleship. It's nice to meet you in this world, my Admiral," the small creature, who looked like a girl, said, raising her head.

Unlike the terrifying and fierce face of Sadako, what appeared before Hugo was a large, beautiful purple eye, and he could even see a small beauty mark next to it.

However, when she used her other hand to push aside the messy silver hair covering her right face, Hugo noticed that her right eye was covered by a black eye patch. Even so, it did not detract from her beauty. At least from Hugo's perspective, this young woman's appearance surpassed that of all the women he had known in his two lifetimes.

From the upper body that was visible on the screen, she seemed to be wearing a military uniform with a black base and gold trim. There was a beautiful ruby brooch on her collar. This unique attire, along with her earlier address to Hugo and her appearance, quickly reminded Hugo of something.

"Aren't you from the slightly outdated ship girl game on my phone—" Hugo stared at the small creature, who was about the size of a figurine, but before he could finish, she interrupted him with a forceful wave of her hand.

"You're right, but also wrong," the small creature said, staring at Hugo with her purple eye. "To you, it is indeed a game, but to us now, it might not be."

"Alright, whatever you say," Hugo was taken aback by this response. He had intended to say that a game was just a game, but considering that he was now in a world with magic, it was reasonable that many things were different from his previous life.

"It's great that you can accept this so quickly, my Admiral," Victory was very satisfied with Hugo's quick acceptance. Then, she grabbed the edges of the phone, raised her small face, and said with a pitiful expression, "Now that you know who I am, can you help me get out?"

"Sure, no problem." Considering that the small creature could climb out on her own and her friendly attitude, Hugo placed his left index finger in front of her for her to grab, and then pulled her out of the screen bit by bit.

"I'm really sorry for showing you such a disheveled appearance," Victory quickly tied her messy hair into a bun and straightened her military uniform after coming out of the screen. She then said to Hugo with a slightly apologetic tone, "As an excellent Royal Navy officer, this is really inappropriate."

"Alright, can you explain what's going on?" Hugo asked, seeing that she had recovered from her previous predicament. He really didn't understand how the paper characters from his previous life's mobile game had come to life and crawled out of the phone.

"Congratulations, my Admiral, you have been chosen by the Alaya and Gaia of your homeland," the seemingly serious ship girl suddenly said something silly.

"Don't joke around. Since you can recognize my identity, you should know that I'm not as young as I look," Hugo said with a slight smile. "I'm past the age of enjoying dreams."

"But I'm serious," Victory said solemnly. "My appearance here is really related to the two great lords, Alaya and Gaia, of our homeland."
