"They're busy with their work again, just like in the past." Hermione shrugged like an adult and then took out a bamboo basket from behind her back. "Look at the breakfast I prepared for you, a great tuna and egg yolk sauce sandwich. I just asked the doctor, and he said you can eat this."

"It's just a little scratch. The X-ray the doctor took yesterday said there was nothing wrong with my head. You really didn't have to come all the way here to bring me food." Hugo took the small bamboo basket from Hermione's hand and opened the lid. He saw the sandwich placed on a clean handkerchief and a bottle of milk beside it.

"It tastes pretty good." Hugo said after taking a big bite and chewing. He had always been interested in various sauces and meats in both of his lives. When Hermione made these sandwiches, she didn't put just a little meat and a lot of vegetables like her parents did; instead, she filled the bread with plenty of tuna and egg yolk sauce, with only two lettuce leaves that looked more like decorations. It was very much to Hugo's taste as a carnivore.

"I'm glad you like it. I used a whole can of sardines today." Hermione raised her little face, her expression full of anticipation for praise.

"You must have worked hard." Hugo suddenly broke into a mischievous smile and asked, "How much did you eat?"

"Half—no, I didn't eat any at all. I put it all between the slices of bread for you." Hermione almost blurted out the truth but quickly regained her composure. "Look, you got hurt for me. As your sister, how could I possibly take your food?"

"Hermione, if you wipe off the egg yolk sauce with bits of tuna from the corner of your mouth, I'll definitely believe you." Hugo pointed to the corner of his right mouth to indicate. Then he saw Hermione let out a small exclamation and take out a handkerchief from her pocket, frantically wiping the corner of her mouth.

The two had grown up together for 11 years, so they knew each other very well. Small actions were hard to hide from each other. For example, Hugo knew that Hermione must have eaten a lot of tuna without her parents knowing, and then used the excuse of making food for the sick Hugo to blame the missing tuna on him.

This Hermione, as his sister in this life, was different from the Hermione he had seen in novels and movies in his previous life. Although she was equally studious, smart, and serious, she lacked the faint arrogance and lack of security.

He guessed this was probably because of his presence. After all, dentists are very busy, and if both parents are dentists, they won't have much time or energy to take care of their children. Therefore, the slight character flaws of the Hermione in the original story were very normal.

In this world, as Hugo's sister, Hermione was much more sociable, possibly because she had a peer by her side all the time. However, this Hermione was also much more lively. For example, the act of secretly eating the tuna and then blaming it on Hugo was something the original Hermione would never do.

After this little episode, the two returned to their usual state and chatted. Hugo learned from her that his parents didn't come to see him today partly because his condition wasn't serious and didn't require their care, and partly because they were very busy and couldn't spare enough time to visit him.

This situation was also related to Hugo. Although he hadn't awakened his memories from his previous life in the past 11 years, the memories hidden deep in his soul still subtly influenced him and his family. For example, under his subtle hints, Mr. Granger discovered the potential of the large Eastern country a few years ago and invested in a business related to dental materials and dentures in a special economic zone.

After all, Britain is a capitalist country, and everyone wants to become a big capitalist, including Mr. Granger. The reason he and Mrs. Granger were busy with work this morning was that they wanted to finish treating all their patients as soon as possible and then sign an agreement for the expansion of the factory with their partners from that country.

After chatting for a while, Hermione took out a small chess set from the bottom of the basket, which was lined with a clean handkerchief, and played chess with Hugo. After a while, Hermione borrowed a few books from the hospital library and read them with Hugo.

As she put it, since she would be reading alone at home anyway, it was better to stay here and keep her brother company. After all, reading is reading, no matter where you do it.

It wasn't until after dinner that the Grangers hurried to the hospital to visit their son. From the smiles on their faces, it seemed that the business negotiations went well that evening.

"Sorry, son, we're late." Mr. Granger apologized to Hugo as soon as he entered. "The business negotiations took much longer than we expected. Fortunately, I called my old classmate who is a lawyer to help, and we finally reached an agreement today. We just finished half an hour ago and rushed over here, but we got stuck in traffic, so we're here now."

"It's okay, Dad." Hugo smiled. "Actually, I don't feel that badly injured. You don't need to come see me every day. Honestly, I think I can go home tonight."

"You did hit your head, and injuries to that area can't be taken lightly—" Mrs. Granger said worriedly, but seeing Hugo's determination to leave, she called the doctor to check his wounds and overall condition.

"Are you the parents of the child?" The doctor asked after examining Hugo's wounds and then confirmed the Grangers' identities. "His recovery is much better than we expected. The head injury was just a concussion that caused him to temporarily lose consciousness, and there are no lingering effects as we feared."

"So he doesn't need to stay in the hospital tonight and can go home directly." The doctor smiled. "But remember to disinfect and change the dressing on his wound every day."

"Understood, thank you, doctor." After the doctor left, the four of them immediately started packing. Ten minutes later, they successfully left the hospital with their luggage.

"You did a great job protecting your sister." On the way back, Mr. Granger patted Hugo's shoulder. "I can say you're a real man, but next time, if you encounter such a situation, think about whether there are better ways to handle it, like calling adults who can deal with it or using certain weapons—"

In this warm atmosphere, Hugo smoothly returned to his home in this world. Then everyone hurriedly started preparing dinner. After all, it was quite late for dinner, and everyone hoped to have a good meal that night.
