"I've been waiting for this moment for a long time!"
Shaking the knife in her hand, Carey Mulligan slowly approached, "After I sensed your intentions, I felt that a scumbag like you should be punished, and Murphy has already written the best way to do it in the script."
The corner of her mouth curled up, her doll-like face still as adorable as ever, but her words were cold and harsh, "The opportunity has finally come. The crew is on break, most people have returned to Los Angeles, my agent Bill Rosiss accompanied Uncle Julian out of town, the tutor has left for personal reasons, and Murphy, suffering from a headache, went for a walk in town."
She moved closer, "With only the two of us left here, how could I let such a good opportunity slip away?"
Despite believing that Carey Mulligan wouldn't do anything foolish, the gleaming knife still put James Franco under considerable pressure, causing a layer of fine sweat to break out on his forehead.
"James, I won't do anything to you."
These words made James Franco unconsciously relax, but Carey Mulligan continued, "I'll only follow the first part of Murphy's script."
"Are you f*cking crazy?" James Franco finally couldn't hold back his curse.
He was the lead actor, having read the script countless times, and he remembered that in the first part, Jeff was castrated by Hailey. If the same happened to him, what difference would there be between living and dying?
James Franco stared intently at the approaching Carey Mulligan, her doll-like face serious, not at all like someone playing a prank.
"Carey, have you thought about the consequences?" he shouted.
Carey Mulligan shrugged indifferently, waving the knife, "I think about it after I act."
Three feet, two feet, one foot...
As the distance between them closed, the knife came closer, and James Franco struggled and shouted in vain.
"Sorry, James." Carey Mulligan stopped in front of James Franco, reaching out with her free hand to gently pat his handsome face, speaking with utmost seriousness, "For the sake of the underage girls in Los Angeles, you'll have to make some sacrifices."
Her words were righteous, as if she were an angel of justice descending from heaven.
Watching Carey Mulligan and James Franco, Murphy knew he couldn't continue to watch. Although he was confident that Carey Mulligan was just scaring James Franco, the mind of a girl at this age was unpredictable. If James Franco said something offensive, Carey Mulligan might act impulsively...
He stepped out from the corner, coughing loudly. James Franco, hearing it like a heavenly sound, immediately turned his head.
Before James Franco could speak, Murphy looked at them in surprise and asked, "Jim, Carey, are you rehearsing?"
Hearing Murphy's words, Carey Mulligan immediately closed the knife, glaring fiercely at James Franco, then turned back with a sweet and adorable smile, "I've always had trouble grasping Hailey's character and mindset after her transformation. James is helping me find the right feel."
James Franco was about to protest, but Murphy quickly gave a thumbs up, "Jim, your dedication is truly admirable."
"Exactly!" Carey Mulligan chimed in, "Jim is a great actor and has helped me a lot."
Hearing their back-and-forth, James Franco didn't know what to say.
"How did you come back?" Carey Mulligan changed the subject, "Is your headache better?"
"Much better." Murphy walked behind James Franco's chair, untied the knots, and said to Carey Mulligan, "I remembered I had some work to do, so I came back."
As he spoke, he patted James Franco's shoulder, turned, and walked toward the stairs. Carey Mulligan, holding the knife, quickly followed.
Watching Murphy and Carey Mulligan walk up the stairs, James Franco untied the ropes around him, threw them to the floor, and stood there for a while. His handsome face, with a sly smile, showed various expressions, finally letting out a long sigh.
Are today's girls this terrifying? He still wasn't sure if Carey Mulligan would have done something if Murphy hadn't appeared.
James Franco couldn't help but look down, feeling his soul's fire beginning to fade.
He stood up, found a tissue to wipe away his tears and snot, and his gaze fell on the open toolbox on the floor, filled with saws, pliers, hammers, and knives, their cold metal gleam looking so sharp. These things would definitely not feel good on the body.
Just from this toolbox, James Franco could guess that today's events were not a spur-of-the-moment decision by Carey Mulligan but had been planned for some time.
Should he continue facing such a girl? James Franco rubbed his shoulder, which had been hit by the pliers, and walked out of the house.
"Murphy..."
In the room upstairs that served as the director's office, Carey Mulligan sat in front of the desk, "You... you... did you see everything?"
"No..." Murphy shook his head lightly, "I only saw the last part, starting from when you threw James Franco."
"He actually attacked you!" Carey Mulligan said angrily, "Such a despicable and shameless guy, attacking someone as good as you, it almost made me furious."
She said with resentment, "I should have slashed his face a few times!"
Murphy's lips twitched slightly, speaking calmly, "Thank you, Carey. It feels good to be protected."
Carey Mulligan's eyes curved into a smile, "It's what I should do. I just wanted to warn James Franco, don't think I don't know he's a scumbag."
Murphy didn't say much. If not for his indulgence and inaction, this wouldn't have happened. But James Franco would likely be more cautious for a while, which might not be bad for the crew.
As for Carey Mulligan, this British girl's actions were clearly influenced by him, her bold and rebellious side bordering on madness.
Carey Mulligan suddenly asked with concern, "Is your headache really better?"
"It's fine." Murphy waved his hand, but Carey Mulligan stood up, "Do you want me to massage it? I used to do it for Uncle Julian when I was little."
"Thank you." Murphy shook his head lightly, "Not right now, I still have work to do."
Unlike when facing James Franco, Carey Mulligan always appeared obedient and cute in front of Murphy, waving her hand, "I'll go back to my room and do my homework, I won't disturb you."
The short day off quickly ended, and on Sunday, the crew reconvened in the independent house to shoot. Perhaps what happened yesterday had an effect, as James Franco avoided Carey Mulligan outside of working hours.
After some adjustments, the rookie crew led by Murphy gradually found some coordination, and the shooting efficiency improved.
