Because of her physical condition, Lin Miaomiao could not live in the school dormitory so she had to rent a private house near the school.
In order to pay the rent, she worked part-time in a chain supermarket next to her after school, mainly responsible for delivery.
Recently, the epidemic had emerged again and their workload had also begun to increase.
Lin Miaomiao looked at the recent increase in order for various daily necessities and began to wonder if she should also stock up.
The evening’s order was a bit large with a dozen large foam boxes.
Therefore, the logistics department directly arranged an electric three-wheeler for Lin Miaomiao.
This kind of large order was usually delivered by a male deliveryman but it was assigned to Lin Miaomiao because there was not enough manpower.
Manager Zhang said, “Xiao Lin, you’ve worked so hard, you can leave work after delivering this order.”
Lin Miaomiao looked at the long list of orders and then at the three-wheeler and clenched her teeth.
The delivery location was a villa area three kilometers away from the school. They were all single-family villas along the river with a quiet environment.
The security guard registered her name, phone number and license plate. After asking the owner, he let her enter directly from the underground driveway which could correspond to the garage below the villa.
“Villa 6 is at the innermost corner.” The security guard glanced at her and lent her another folding trolley.
“Thank you.”
Lin Miaomiao drove a long way and finally arrived at the garage door of Villa No. 6.
After the roller shutter was raised, she saw was a young man, wearing a dark blue sports suit and a pair of gold-rimmed glasses.
It was not the first time that Lin Miaomiao had delivered to this kind of villa but usually, it was the driver and the cooking aunt who she connected with so seeing such a young man, she was stunned for a moment.
The other party saw that the delivery was made by a delicate girl and was just as stunned as her.
But he quickly reacted, “The storage room is on the basement floor. Maybe I have to sort out the goods while packing which will delay you some time.”
Lin Miaomiao nodded and opened the folding trolley neatly, ready to lift the goods one by one and put them on the floor.
“I’ll do it.” He rolled up his sleeves and directly reached out and started to lift the foam box.
“No, no, this is my job.” Lin Miaomiao immediately refused.
He smiled gently, “How can I let a girl do such rough work…”
This is a very gentlemanly behavior.
Lin Miaomiao silently backed away and looked at him with the lights in the garage.
About in his early twenties, tall and thin.
The lines of his arms were smooth, his muscles tensed up when he carried them, looking very strong and powerful.
The lines of his profile were also clean and neat, the slender eyebrows diluted the sharpness brought by the high nose bridge and there was an indescribable beauty and handsomeness.
Lin Miaomiao suddenly remembered the activities of the Hanfu Club that she had seen before. None of those ancient and handsome men were more charming than the one in front of her.
“What’s wrong?” He seemed to sense her gaze and turned his face.
His long eyelashes were thick but they couldn’t hide the bright black pupils.
Being stared at by him, Lin Miaomiao’s heart skipped a beat.
“It’s nothing.” She lowered her head, pretending to be examining her delivery note.
The trolley was only half full and the man motioned for her to follow him into the elevator.
It was then that Lin Miaomiao saw the whole view of the garage accomodating six cars of different colors.
There were sports cars, SUVs, electric cars, everything was there, including two expensive cars that were rarely seen.
Sure enough, it was the underground garage of the villa.
The storage room was on the upper floor of the elevator. When Lin Miaomiao entered, she saw two freezers, two upright refrigerators and a wall of shelves full of daily necessities.
This spectacular situation made Lin Miaomiao stunned.
“We have a lot of family members and the epidemic has been surging recently so we bought more things.” He explained with a smile.
Lin Miaomiao nodded and forced a smile. How many people did this family have to prepare so many things?
What he bought this time was basically fresh food. Lin Miaomiao didn’t dare to be slow and quickly helped him count.
He cut open the foam box with a utility knife and every time he put it in the refrigerator, he read it out and asked Lin Miaomiao to tick the list.
“Snowflake beef…Russian sea urchin…”
Lin Miaomiao raised her eyes slightly and looked at the busy figure of the man in front of her.
He didn’t seem to be very familiar with where things were placed either but he seemed to have an obsessive-compulsive disorder so he had to categorize them one by one.
This tossing and turning took a lot of time and it was almost ten o’clock.
Suddenly, his mobile phone rang.
He picked it up and clipped it between his shoulders and neck to answer, his hands still busy.
“What… when is it… are you sure… there is no other way?”
He paused, raised his eyelashes and turned his eyes around Lin Miaomiao’s body before looking away.
“I see, it looks like this is the only way.”
He put down the phone and put his hands on the table in front of him then lowered his head and pondered.
“What’s wrong?”
Lin Miaomiao’s heart beat suddenly increased and she felt inexplicably that the phone call might have something to do with her.
He raised his head and stared straight at her from behind the lens.
“It’s the call from the community and property side. There are three positive cases in our community and it’s now blocked.”
