“How did this happen?” Lin Miaomiao widened her eyes.
He took off his glasses and frowned, “Later, people from the community will come over to register you but they can’t help you find a place to live in and they don’t know how long it will be closed…”
Lin Miaomiao opened her lips wanting to say something but didn’t know where to start.
He paused for a moment and frowned lightly, “You can stay here for a few days, there are rooms available.”
“I…” Lin Miaomiao wanted to say something but stopped.
“What’s the matter?” The man looked at her face carefully and said gently: “Don’t worry, I’ll give you the property manager’s phone number, you can call them if anything happens.”
His tone was entirely to prove that he was not a bad person.
Lin Miaomiao bit her lip, “…I don’t know how long it will be closed.”
“You should also tell the company.” He glanced at her, “Are you a student?”
“Yes, I am a student of S University, I am a sophomore this year.”
“Really?”He smiled, “I also graduated from S University 2 years ago. My name is Song Yan.”
“I’m Lin Miaomiao.”
He glanced down at his phone, “People from the community are at the door, you can go up and register yourself, I’ll just put the things away.”
Lin Miaomiao nodded and took the elevator directly to the first floor.
When she got out of the elevator, she entered the high-ceilinged hall with a modern and simple decoration style.
Although the lights were bright, no one was there.
She walked through the long corridor to the main entrance which was very spacious and even had some lush green plants.
She opening the door and there were two community workers in white protective suits and a property manager.
When registering, when they heard that she was a student of S University, the property manager let out a long breath, “That’s good, there are two S University students living here.”
Lin Miaomiao’s hand paused as the community person added again: “There are positive cases in S University too so the dormitory has been sealed off.”
She pursed her lips, “How long will it be closed this time?”
“It’s hard to say, it could be one month or more than two months. It’s not just our community that was closed, the entire city is blooming on all sides.”
Lin Miaomiao sighed in her heart and exchanged WeChat calls with the property owner.
The property owner kept comforting her, “You can live at ease here, this house is the largest so there are enough rooms and there are alumni around here. If you have any requests, just tell us…”
Halfway through the sentence, he paused again, “We can only try our best, we also have to sleep in the office for a while.”
After the people left, Lin Miaomiao first checked the news on the Internet and sure enough, the entire district was almost closed and S University was not optimistic.
She called Chen Xue, “How is the school now?”
“Our building has two positive people and now the dormitory has been sealed off and we are not allowed to go anywhere. It is estimated that online classes will be held later.”
They had taken online courses for most of the semester so it was not unusual.
“How is your place, Miaomiao?”
Lin Miaomiao had checked where she lived and it was also closed.
“Same as you, I’ll call the counselor later.”
After she called the counselor and the landlord, she couldn’t help but sigh in her heart.
She went out to deliver for a few hours and her whole situation changed.
She couldn’t help but think that fortunately it was the same situation in the school dormitory. If she would join online class then it didn’t matter wherever she took it.
She had to be thankful that she always had her laptop with her these days in order to catch up with homework.
At this time, there were footsteps behind her, she turned around and looked back, Song Yan was walking towards her.
“How’s it going?”
“Just stay inside the house and do nucleic acid on time every day.” Lin Miaomiao said helplessly.
“It looks like this is the only way.” Song Yan counseled, “I’ll take you to your room.”
The villa was very big with the living room and kitchen on the first floor and he led Lin Miaomiao to the room at the back.
Before entering, he hesitated for a while, “Although the room is on the first floor, the scenery is still good and there is a separate bathroom. No one has lived here before.”
Lin Miaomiao instantly understood that this room, from the perspective of the developer was designed originally to have the aunt live there.
It was just that when she went in, she couldn’t help but be amazed.
The room was not big and very simple, a bed, bedside table and a wardrobe, clean and tidy.
Inside there was a small balcony with large floor-to-ceiling windows facing a garden.
In the dark night, she saw colorful roses blooming around the iron railings of the balcony.
Song Yan looked at her surprised expression and nudged his fingers against the frame and raised his lips slightly.
“This room is quite nice.”
He handed her a shopping bag, “There are beddings in the cupboard and new toiletries here but no girls’ clothes. I found a few brand new T-shirts, you will have to make do with them for now.”
“Ah, thank you.” She was moved by his care and hurriedly thanked him.
“Let’s add on WeChat.” Song Yan took out his mobile phone, “If we can still get delivery tomorrow, you can make a list of what you need.”
“Okay.” Lin Miaomiao also took out her mobile phone.
“Good night.”
After Song Yan finished speaking, he smiled again. In fact, he also knew that Lin Miaomiao might not be able to sleep well tonight.
It was true that Lin Miaomiao didn’t sleep well but in her half-dream, she seemed to hear the familiar piano music again which was soothing and melodious.
Exactly the same as that guy played.
