When he was young, he was a poor boy who had nothing. On one occasion, he met a wealthy girl while working in a restaurant and fell in love with her at first sight. Then, he started to passionately court the young lady.

Low self-esteem, the difference in family standing and whatnot, did not exist to him. He only knew one thing: He likes her and will use all efforts to pursue her.

The young lady was finally moved by a person like him. The two became a young couple.

However, the Heavens weren’t so kind to his desperate efforts. Just when the two gradually warmed up, the young lady said she might be engaged to another wealthy man instead of him.

The rich man actually had another person he liked. He did not like the young lady and agreed to marry her because of his father’s request. But even if he did not like the young lady, he almost lost his life because of that ridiculous possessiveness of his (the rich man), where he (the rich man) couldn’t tolerate the young lady liking someone else.

The old man paused for a moment as he spoke of this. Yun Shu felt uncomfortable as if a hundred claws were scratching her heart and couldn’t help but ask, “And then? And then what? Then what happened?”

The elderly man smiled, revealing an air of superiority, “I ran straight to negotiate with her father.”

The young lady was the only child in the family and heir to the family business. However, she wasn’t fond of dealing with such matters. Hence, her father was very worried about her future. He urged her to get married because he was ill and feared that he couldn’t take care of her for long. Thus, he had the idea of finding someone to take care of her.

The old father’s mind was all about his daughter, but his discernment was not that great. So he was deceived by an old friend and thought that his friend was trustworthy. But in fact, the family did not want to treat the young lady well, and they were just greedy for their (the young lady’s) family’s property.

Therefore, he just took out the evidence he had investigated and showed it to him without doing much. The old father was immediately outraged and decided to call off the engagement.

But this did not mean that he could marry the young lady.

He knew very well, so he offered himself to the young lady’s father. He said that he was the most reliable; he would be good to the young lady; assist her in the business’s affairs, never get his hands on anything that belonged to the young lady, and everything would be passed down to their children once they became adults.

As for how to win the old father’s trust, it was an arduous process. But he succeeded in the end, keeping his promise from the beginning to the end.
