Today, I have also posted two episodes.

I have received many detailed reports of typos, thank you very much! I have made corrections to this episode as well. I am still far from perfect, and I apologize... While it may be difficult to fix everything, I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude.

Additionally, I was unexpectedly ranked 1st in the daily overall ranking on the night of August 3! Thank you very much to everyone who has been supporting me.

Edith, following Lionel's father, walked through the grand entrance of the Granville mansion, pushing Lionel's wheelchair in place of the attendant. She walked down the long, spacious corridor, elegantly furnished. Having spent a long time with her parents in a modest home, Edith was accustomed to a cozy environment. When she was taken in by the Oakridge family, she was dazzled by the vastness and grandeur of the mansion. However, the Granville mansion, even more magnificent, left her overwhelmed.

After pushing the wheelchair alongside Lionel's father for a while, Lionel turned to Edith as they approached a room at a bend in the corridor on the first floor.

"Edith, this is your room."

Lionel's father opened the door, revealing a spacious and tastefully decorated room. In the center, a chandelier with a modest glow hung above a polished mahogany table and chairs. At the back of the room, an elegant antique vanity and closet, as well as a canopy bed, were arranged. The walls were adorned with several landscape paintings, likely by renowned artists. Surrounded by items of evident quality, the room was neither overly luxurious nor cold, but warm and inviting, with warm sunlight streaming in from the large windows facing the courtyard.

Feeling as if she had wandered into a beautiful painting, Edith gazed around the room in a daze, a sense of unreality. Lionel looked at her with a slight hint of anxiety.

"How do you like it? I hope you will be satisfied. If there's anything you don't like, please let me know without hesitation."

Edith hurriedly replied to Lionel's words.

"Well, this room is too good for me, and I am quite surprised... Can I really use such a beautiful room?"

Lionel exchanged a relieved glance with his father and nodded with a smile.

"Yes, of course. This room is prepared for you. If there's anything you need, please let us know."

"No, it's more than enough for me."

Edith, looking around the spacious room filled with luxurious furniture, wondered how many times larger it was compared to her room in the Oakridge family's annex. However, she decided to gratefully use the room prepared for her.

Lionel's father, following his son's words, spoke to Edith.

"Also, I am thinking of preparing a maid for Edith..."

Edith, this time, shook her head at Lionel's father.

"No! I have lived a long time as a commoner and can take care of myself. I would be more comfortable without a maid. I didn't have a maid even at the Oakridge family's."

Lionel's father exchanged glances with his son but nodded at Edith's words.

"Yes, I understand. It's better for you to live in a way you are accustomed to."

Lionel turned to Edith again.

"However, if you change your mind, please let us know. We can always assign a maid to you."

"Thank you for your kind consideration, Lord Lionel."

Edith smiled, and Lionel returned her smile, then turned his gaze to the courtyard through the window.

"My room also faces this courtyard."

"Since my son uses a wheelchair, it's more convenient for him to be on the first floor. I will give you a tour of the mansion later, and next, I will show you my son's room."

"Yes, I would appreciate that."

Lionel's room, not far from Edith's, was a tidy and uncluttered space with a deep, polished bookshelf, a writing desk and chair, and a bed. It seemed to reflect Lionel's meticulous personality, Edith thought.

Lionel, looking at Edith with a slightly apologetic expression, said,

"I'm sorry, but can I go back to bed and rest for a while? I just got here."

"Of course, Lord Lionel. I am grateful that you came to the Oakridge family's despite not feeling well."

Edith, with the help of an attendant, lifted Lionel from the wheelchair and laid him on the bed in his room. The lightness of Lionel's body, which required no assistance from the attendant, made Edith's heart ache.

(Oh...?)

Although Lionel's complexion seemed to have improved, Edith felt a warmth when she touched his body and looked at his face intently. Noticing a slight flush and a labored breath, Edith couldn't help but speak.

"Lord Lionel, may I touch your forehead?"

Lionel, lying down, nodded obediently. Edith placed her hand on his forehead, and her face turned pale.

"This is serious, you have a fever... I'm sorry for making you exert yourself."

"No, it's nothing serious. I often have this."

Edith, looking at the weakly smiling Lionel and his father, asked,

"I have brought some medicine from home. Would you like me to bring it to you, Lord Lionel?"

"Yes, thank you."

Edith hurried to her room, where she had just placed her luggage, and quickly rushed back.
