On the morning of August 4th, it was also ranked first in the daily comprehensive ranking. Thank you very much to everyone who has been supporting me. Thank you for reporting the typo; it has been corrected.
Edith returned to her room and took out a large, well-worn medicine box from her bag. Among the items Edith brought to the Granville Marquess's house, this medicine box took up the most space, aside from a few articles of clothing. It was the same medicine box she had used when she lived with her parents.
Holding the medicine box, Edith immediately returned to Lionel's room.
"I kept you waiting, Lord Lionel."
Lionel, who had turned his head slightly towards Edith and smiled, and his father and attendant, who were looking at the medicine box in Edith's hand with interest, watched as Edith opened the medicine box and skillfully took out a small brown bottle. The bottle contained a syrup made by Edith, combining the nectar of a flower known for its ability to alleviate fever symptoms and reduce physical exhaustion caused by fever, with an extract from herbs said to enhance self-healing abilities. Then, Edith also picked up a small bag containing a light green powder. This powder was made by grinding a mixture of several herbs that suppress throat inflammation and ease breathing.
Looking at the water pitcher and glass prepared in Lionel's room, Edith asked Lionel's father.
"May I have a little of this water?"
"Yes, feel free to use it."
Edith put a little of the powder into the glass, poured about half the water from the pitcher, and added a few drops of syrup from the small bottle. She then swirled the glass to mix the contents.
(I hope Lord Lionel's condition improves even a little.)
While gazing at the pale green liquid she had prepared, Edith, with a wish in her heart, spoke to Lionel, who looked uncomfortable.
"Lord Lionel, can you drink this? It is mainly a syrup with medicinal properties, combined with a powder made from herbs, and I believe it should be relatively easy to drink."
"Thank you, Edith. I will drink it."
Edith helped Lionel, gently supporting his upper body, and watched as he finished drinking the contents of the glass.
Lionel, looking at the empty glass in his hand, smiled at Edith.
"As you said, it was very easy to drink. It had a slight sweetness and a refreshing aroma."
Edith also smiled at Lionel, relieved.
"I'm glad to hear that. This medicine is effective against fever, shortness of breath, and physical exhaustion, so I hope it helps you feel better."
Lionel's father, looking at the two of them with a warm gaze, nodded to his attendant and stood up from his chair.
"Edith, thank you very much. It seems that everything is fine even if we are not here. We will take our leave first. Is it alright if we leave you two in this room?"
"Yes, of course, I have no problem with that."
Lionel's father nodded at Edith, who smiled gently, and left the room with his attendant.
After seeing them off, Edith turned her concerned gaze towards Lionel, who was still sitting up.
"Lord Lionel, if you prefer to rest alone, please let me know, and I will leave immediately."
Lionel shook his head quietly.
"No, Edith. If you don't mind, I would be happy if you stayed a little longer. ... It's strange, but even though I just drank the medicine you made, I already feel lighter. It's all thanks to you, Edith."
Seeing Lionel's brightened expression, Edith smiled.
"I believe Lord Lionel will definitely recover. If there is anything I can do, please let me know."
Lionel, blushing with pleasure at Edith's words, looked at her curiously.
"You said you have only been with the Oakridge Earl's family for a short time, but you seem to know a lot about medicine. Did you learn about medicine from the Oakridge Earl's family?"
"No. My parents used to run a small pharmacy in a rural town, and I learned while helping them. Although my parents passed away in an unfortunate accident, they were warm people and taught me a lot about medicine."
Lionel, looking at Edith, who spoke with a nostalgic tone, sat up further in bed and smiled warmly.
"Edith, I don't know much about you yet. Would you mind telling me more about yourself?"
Edith nodded at Lionel's words and, at his suggestion, sat down in the chair in front of him.
