Shao Xin continued, “After he fell onto the demonic path, he was imprisoned in the refining abyss. In order to prevent him from breaking free of the refining abyss, Sect Leader Yin and a few powerful cultivators severely injured him before imprisoning him there. They also removed the scales on him that carried devilish energy. I don’t know what they did with the scales they removed from him, but I know that the Black Ice Scales that carried devilish energy were once part of his body and had now become his weakness.”
Ji Yan finally recalled the ending of the plot!
After Yin Miaorou’s “death”, Ji Yunqing, the original male lead of the novel, took out a divine sword from the Kunning Sect’s forbidden area. The sword was forged by the best swordsmith in the world for Taoist Ming Shu.
It was rumored the sword was the only item in the world that can completely kill Yin Xuezhuo.
Could the sword be forged from Yin Xuezhuo’s scales?
“Junior Sister Bai? Junior Sister, are you alright?”
Shao Xin noticed that Ji Yan was in a trance, so he frantically called out to her.
Ji Yan finally regained her senses and quickly handed back the sachet to Shao Xin like it was a piece of hot potato.
Ji Yan felt nauseated when she remembered that the scales in the sachet had been plucked from Yin Xuezhuo’s body and used by the same people to kill Yin Xuezhuo.
She didn’t know how a nightmare spirit looked like or how Yin Xuezhuo’s original body looked like.
It didn’t matter what kind of creature he was because she only remembered his beautiful, cold, and scary face.
If she was treated like how Yin Xuezhuo was treated, then she probably would’ve fallen onto the demonic path too, right?
Ji Yan turned her head to look at Yin Xuezhuo, but she discovered that Yin Xuezhuo was gone again.
“Senior Brother don’t mind me. I just think…it’s a little scary.” Ji Yan lowered her head and pursed her lips, “If he hadn’t been abused like this, then he might not have developed such deep hatred for the human race. Since the beginning, no one had taught him what is right and what is wrong.”
“Junior Sister.” Shao Xin seemed to disagree with her reasoning. He frowned and said, “If someone treats him badly, then he can seek that person out for revenge. But there are many innocent people in this world, including you and me, yet he still wants to harm us when we did nothing to him. Since he wants to harm us, then why can’t we eliminate him first?”
Ji Yan nodded her head, “That’s also true.”
They wanted to get rid of Yin Xuezhuo because he hated humans.
At this stage of the novel, there were no paths in front of her. Everything was a dead end right now.
Ji Yan actually wanted to say a few words in favor of Yin Xuezhuo because she knew how he would die. In the end, when he killed Yin Miaorou, he didn’t completely kill her. He kept Yin Miaorou’s soul so that she could be revived and live happily ever after with the man she loved. If Yin Xuezhuo didn’t have any kindness in his heart, then why would he let her live happily? Why would he retain her soul, so she could be revived?
She wanted to speak but continued to hesitate. Ji Yan felt that it was unnecessary to reveal too much because it was pointless.
Forget it.
She was merely a bystander in this book. When she transmigrated into this world, she was both powerless and insignificant. She can’t do much with her useless body nor could she change other people’s opinions about Yin Xuezhuo.
Ji Yan once again expressed her concern about her safety. Shao Xin promised to help her plead her case to the elders. Ji Yan wanted Shao Xin to leave, so she made up an excuse by saying that she had a headache. Shao Xin was worried that the devil would continue to pester her, so he gave her half of the scales in the sachet, hoping that it would protect her.
Shao Xin trusted her very much.
Ji Yan took the scales from Shao Xin, but after he left, she threw the scales out the window.
She treated the scales like a piece of hot potato.
“Why didn’t you keep it?”
As soon as she turned around, the window behind her closed by itself. There was no wind or turbulence outside, yet the window still managed to close itself. The light from the candle in the room trembled suddenly as if something had agitated it.
A gloomy and twisted voice suddenly whispered into Ji Yan’s ears, “The scales are quite precious. In the past, they used all kinds of methods to pluck those scales from me.”
A familiar coldness spread across the room as goosebumps rose on Ji Yan’s neck. Yin Xuezhuo’s figure slowly materialized into thin air. He leaned towards Ji Yan; his posture was charming and gentle.
“Why would you ask that person about my past? I can tell you everything you want to know about me.”
Yin Xuezhuo will never forget his painful past and those countless days and nights where he was tortured.
He liked tearing open his scab because the pain reminded him of his need for revenge.
