“Yin Xuezhuo!”
Ji Yan screamed as she suddenly awoke from her dream. She sat up from the bed.
Ji Yan was sweating profusely after waking up. The dream she just dreamt of felt too real. She was still frightened by the nightmare as her chest heaved.
As soon as she turned her head, her gaze immediately met Yin Xuezhuo’s dark gaze.
Ji Yan, “…”
“Why did you just shout my name?” He narrowed his eyes at her dangerously.
This was probably the first time he had met someone who dared to call out his name while they slept, so he stared at her strangely, not knowing what to do. He didn’t have the slightest clue as to how frightening his face looked when he suddenly leaned his face towards her.
Ji Yan’s heart pounded rapidly against her chest; she really wanted to give him a good scolding. Can you stop leaning your face towards mine every time I’m sleeping? You can’t see your own appearance, but it doesn’t mean that other people can’t! Do you know how frightening pale your face looks like?
But once she recalled her dream, her heart suddenly softened again due to pity. She could still clearly remember how innocent and young he was when he was forcefully imprisoned.
Forget it. There was no reason for her to argue with him over nothing.
Yin Xuezhuo was obviously very interested in her dream, so he inched towards her and asked, “Why did you call out my name in your sleep?”
“I dreamt of you.” Ji Yan didn’t make up an excuse or lie to him. Perhaps it was because she had just woken up and as a result of that, she was more courageous than usual. She parted her mouth and truthfully told him about her dream, “Luckily, it was merely a dream. I dreamt that you personally gave a piece of the Black Ice Scale to Yin Miaorou. After that, you were imprisoned in the refining abyss by her. But thinking about it, I think my dream must’ve been just a dream. How could you have been so innocent and kind in the past…”
“…” The way Yin Xuezhuo was staring at her was very odd.
Ji Yan, “???”
Don’t tell her that the dream was real!
He actually gave her the Black Ice Scale on his own accord.
No, how could Yin Xuezhuo be that stupid? How could he pluck the last scale from his body and use it to repay his gratitude by gifting it to her just because she gave him a name?
Ji Yan didn’t know whether she should sympathize with his feelings or sigh at how innocent he was.
A pure and gentle young boy had now grown into a bloodthirsty monster.
Ji Yan didn’t dare to meet his eyes, instead, she quietly moved to the side. Before she could move far, Yin Xuezhuo grabbed her head and with a strong push, she was pushed back onto the bed. His arms were on either side of her body as he gritted his teeth and said, “Your dream is just a dream. It did not happen!”
Ji Yan, “…”
Did you realize that the gaze in your eyes had already betrayed the truth?
It seemed like he would never admit that her dream was obviously true.
Everyone had a past that they wished to forget, so he didn’t need to brood over it. She understood his feelings.
Ji Yan secretly tugged the blanket towards her and slowly wigged out from his clutch. She sat up and straightened her hair. Ji Yan was very considerate as she nodded in agreement, “Then let’s treat my dream like it’s just a dream.”
Yin Xuezhuo, “…”
What do you mean by ‘treating it as if it were just a dream’?
Yin Xuezhuo narrowed his eyes and was about to threaten her again when Ji Yan slipped off the bed before he could even speak. She hopped left and right and twisted around uncomfortable. Then, she muttered under her breath, “I feel so uncomfortable.”
“What up with you again?” He frowned.
Ji Yan, “It’s been a long time since I’ve last taken a bath. My body is very sticky, I want to take a bath.”
After a night passed, their interactions returned to normal, it seemed as if the conversation they had last night had never happened.
The relationship between Ji Yan and Yin Xuezhuo was actually very delicate. Sometimes he would bully her and sometimes she would be angry at him. They disliked each other, but how much they disliked each other, they would always live together in harmony.
