Ian raised his eyebrows and decided not to pay any more attention to Malakith. Without a doubt, this guy was the kind of arrogant, talkative, and trouble-making boss who, once in a favorable position, would start babbling and wait for the heroes to gather their strength and turn the tide.
So, the question was, should Ian quietly wait for the heroes to arrive, or should he try to save himself?
Ian's calmness clearly surprised Malakith a little. "A child who can become a survivor indeed has some merit! Even in such a situation, you remain so calm. Are you in despair? But I see no darkness in your eyes!"
Ian lazily glanced at him. "Don't misunderstand, I just firmly believe that the righteous companions will surely defeat you." As he said this, he felt a bit silly himself!
"Ha ha ha!" Ian's response not only made Malakith laugh heartily but also made Agem, who was stepping on Sona, burst out laughing. "What a child! Thinking back, we were once that naive. Only in such a youthful age would one believe in justice!" As he said this, he even put on a nostalgic expression.
Ian felt a wave of disgust. There was no way that pale face suited such an expression. "I didn't expect you to be a literary youth! So, are you going to announce your plan to the world next?"
Malakith looked at him with interest. "With your lowly status, you have no right to know my plan." He glanced at Sona, whose face was devoid of color. "But I don't want to be the only one to witness my success!"
"Then... has anyone told you... this woman is not to be trifled with!"
Ian rolled his eyes in frustration. Sister! At this moment, why are you still showing off? Indeed, Sona, who had just caught her breath, was hit hard in the chest by Agem's heavy punch. This guy must have done it on purpose!
The crack beneath Sona's body became more pronounced under the impact, and the crisp sound of bones breaking could even be heard by Ian. Blood had soaked through her shirt, and her light armor had already shattered into pieces.
However, Ian couldn't help but marvel at the Asgardians' robust vitality. An ordinary person would have fainted several times from the pain alone, but Sona still managed to maintain a tough expression.
Malakith sneered. "I pity your ignorance!" He shook his head and explained, "The Ether Particles are a divine artifact created by the ancestors of the Dark Elves! They can manipulate space, connect the Nine Worlds, and even forcibly alter planetary orbits, blocking out light and plunging the world into infinite darkness!"
"Got it! So this is your plot, but what benefit do you gain from the world being plunged into darkness?" Ian felt an itch on his back, leaning to scratch it, looking relaxed as if he hadn't grasped the key point.
Malakith's brows furrowed. Although he felt a bit puzzled, he continued, "The power of the Dark Elves comes from darkness. Without light, no one in the Nine Realms can stop the Dark Elves from ruling, and they will create a powerful cosmic empire!"
Malakith spread his arms, as if about to become the founder of a new nation. However, Ian responded with a look of utter disdain. "Why not use this time to strengthen yourselves? If the Dark Elves truly strive, you will eventually become a powerful empire that no one in the universe can ignore. As for plunging the world into darkness, that's complete nonsense! Do you know how many beings rely on light to survive? If the world is plunged into eternal darkness, few beings will survive. Without people, who will you rule? Or are you a madman using the guise of rule to destroy the world?"
A moment of silence fell over the scene. Malakith looked deeply at Ian. "Brat, the reason you've survived until now is clear. But it's a pity, you don't understand the meaning of darkness to the Dark Elves!"
With that, Malakith suddenly lost interest and slowly walked towards the black stone pillar. His fingers moved gracefully, and the black stone pillar began to split in the middle, as if a crane in the void was lifting its upper part. From the split, layers of red particles slowly emerged, these particles gathering and dispersing like clouds, immediately capturing everyone's attention.
Mysterious and dazzling, from the moment they appeared, the sky suddenly burst into a kaleidoscope of colors, as if a window had been opened in the clouds, revealing a new and wondrous world. But this was not just one window; there were eight, each with its own color and wonder, instantly capturing Ian's full attention.
To Ian, everything was filled with wonder, while Sona's eyes were full of fear. In stark contrast, Agem's face was full of admiration, the fervor in his eyes making Ian's heart tremble. Indeed, the world of the mad is beyond our understanding!
Regardless of the expressions, Malakith found them all fascinating. He slowly extended his hand, and the red particles, as if responding to some mysterious call, slowly drifted towards him. Just as they were about to touch, and Malakith was already envisioning his grand achievement, a brilliant light shot from the depths of space, its multicolored glow instantly illuminating the entire sky, its powerful force piercing through the atmosphere and thick clouds. It struck the black stone pillar!
Boom!
The powerful force enveloped the entire black stone pillar, the red particles retreating into the pillar like frightened snails. A violent shockwave, accompanied by a loud boom, sent Malakith flying.
His agile body involuntarily retreated, performing a mid-air flip before landing steadily on the ground. "Zeus! You dare?" His eyes were filled with rage, and he immediately dashed towards the black stone pillar.
Whoosh!
Just as he was about to reach it, a massive shield shot out from the brilliant light column!
No, it wasn't just a shield, but a burly man hiding behind it, using it as a weapon to charge forward!
Whistling! The wind pressure was like a fighter jet roaring through the sky, the air seemingly torn apart.
Boom! The impact was like a comet colliding with Earth, the shockwave making it hard for Ian to open his eyes! But this powerful collision only made Malakith retreat three steps. He calmly extended his left hand, fingers spread, pressing firmly on the shield's surface, the deep grooves in the ground from the force of his feet showing his immense power.
"Ant! How dare you block the path of the gods?" Malakith sneered, his eyes filled with disdain, but the increasingly bright light column in front of him made him anxious.
"So, this is the so-called suicide squad!" Ian, unable to laugh or cry, slowly got up and approached Sona. He had thought the Asgardian reinforcements had arrived, but it turned out to be an uncle! Recalling Sona's mention of the suicide squad, he just wanted to find a dark corner and quietly be a background character.
"Hey! Are you still alive?" Ian asked Sona with concern. She was tough, gritting her teeth and watching Agem, who had already moved far away. "I will avenge this!"
Ian rolled his eyes. "You should check your injuries first. Can you stand? It's too dangerous here, and Uncle Pantheon won't hold out for long!"
Sona shook her head helplessly, glancing at her blood-soaked shirt. "No, that bastard broke all my limbs. With your thin arms and legs, you can't move me."
Ian frowned. "Are you focusing on the wrong thing? At this moment, you're still worried about your limbs!"
Sona was taken aback. "What do you mean? What should I be worried about?"
Ian, exasperated, said, "Your chest! I saw that guy stomp on your chest, and it's flattened!"
"..."
Agem was also advancing towards the black stone pillar, as several golden-armored warriors emerged from the light column behind Pantheon. They were members of Pantheon's squad! They leaped over Malakith and Pantheon, all charging at Agem. They knew that from the moment Pantheon accepted this mission, it had become a personal vendetta.
Bang! As the second-in-command of the Dark Elves, Agem was not easily shaken, even by elite warriors. In a single clash, a warrior with dual swords was thrown back, his neck bone twisted in a way that made one's teeth chatter.
Agem roared and charged at another warrior. The warriors also attacked him with their weapons, sharp blades flashing, but they were all deflected by Agem's fists. It was then that Ian noticed that Agem's fists were covered with gloves!
Whoosh! Bang!
Ian glanced at the golden-armored warrior who had been impaled headfirst into the ground and turned to Sona. "I thought these warriors were pretty strong yesterday! Why are they so easily defeated?"
Sona's face darkened as she watched the warriors being thrown back one by one. She had already lost hope when she saw Malakith but explained, "These are the two strongest of the Dark Elves. Perhaps Captain Pantheon can defeat Agem, but Malakith..."
Ian understood her meaning. From Pantheon's situation, it was clear who was more powerful. Just look at his bulging veins and compare it to Malakith's calm demeanor. Even a fool could see who was more formidable! However, saying that Pantheon could defeat the second-in-command of the Dark Elves seemed a bit exaggerated.
