Thank you for reading!
I have novels being released on 9/5 and 9/6! I would be very happy if you could check them out ♡
Both are brand new works ~(≧▽≦)
9/5: When I Was Away, My Home Had Fallen - The Reincarnated Noble Lady Saves Her Family with Knowledge from Her Past Life and Holy Magic (Berries Fantasy)
9/6: The Crown Prince Broke Our Engagement, So I Think I'll Stop Pretending to Be Stupid 4 (PASH! Books)
With a whistle, my family lined up and saluted in unison.
I raised my right hand to the sky.
"Alright! Today, I have finally been released from my engagement to His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince! Here is the proof!"
I dramatically showed the letter signed by the Crown Prince, and everyone in the family chimed in, "As expected!"
I, Wilhelmine Felsenstein, was engaged to Marius, the Crown Prince of the country of Lovarta, at the age of twelve. It was a typical political marriage.
If we believe the story of the otome game, Wilhelmine, who was engaged to Marius, would receive a letter from the Crown Prince at the age of eighteen, while she was in her territory, informing her of the unilateral termination of the engagement.
After that, the enraged Wilhelmine would start the social season in the fall by harassing the heroine, Laura Graczer, who had taken Marius from her, leading to her eventual downfall.
Since it's an otome game, there are other potential love interests besides Marius, but this game starts with the Marius route.
After completing the Marius route, other routes open up one by one. If you choose another love interest, the heroine will be told by Marius, "I only see you as a sister," and they will break up, leading to a romance with the other love interest.
The worst possible scenario for me, Wilhelmine, is the execution that is part of the Marius route.
This is dangerous.
I don't know which route the heroine will take, but even if she isn't executed, the villainous noble lady will face ruin in any route. We cannot let the social season, which marks the beginning of the game, start.
"Finally, the devil's letter has arrived! What do we do?!"
"Ring!"
"Yes, Dad!"
Despite the dire situation, my family and I, completely relaxed, started a quiz session called a family meeting.
Well, the answer to the quiz was already decided a year ago.
Father Alorsem, pointed at by me, raised his hand and said, "I'll go punch the Crown Prince!"
"Wrong! If you do that, you'll be thrown in jail for treason!"
"Ring!"
"Yes, big brother!"
"I'll seduce the heroine and make her fall for me."
"Wrong! Don't get cocky just because you're handsome, you narcissist!"
"Ring!"
"Yes, Mom!"
"We'll flee to my homeland!"
"Ring! Correct!"
Yes, after numerous family meetings over the past year, we came to this conclusion.
Living in this country is dangerous, isn't it?
So, let's just run away to another country!
That's the very rough but probably safest choice we made: "fleeing to another country."
My mother, Clementine, is from the neighboring country of Stilria.
To be more specific, my mother is the sister of the current King of Stilria, who, twenty-one years ago, was the Crown Prince and a hero who defeated the Demon King. My father and mother were part of the hero's party.
I think this otome game is amazing.
The Crown Prince wields a sword and goes to defeat the Demon King.
And, his sister, the princess, and his fiancée, a noble lady from a neighboring country, accompany him.
I wonder what would happen if they were all wiped out by the Demon King.
It's not good for the future leaders of a country to grip their swords and say, "Let's go defeat the Demon King!"
There are plenty of things to nitpick, but this is the world of the game. Nitpicking only tires you out, and since I enjoyed this nitpick-worthy game in my past life, I have no right to criticize.
In any case, the Felsenstein family is on the brink of ruin in Lovarta, but in Stilria, they are welcome as the family of the hero who defeated the Demon King.
When my mother asked her brother, the King of Stilria, in advance, he replied, "Come anytime, you can all live here permanently," which is a very casual response, but it's clear.
So, over the past year, we have been moving the Felsenstein family's movable assets to Stilria.
My uncle, the King, gave us a mansion in the capital, and we have been moving our belongings there one by one.
I wondered if the King could just give a mansion to a noble family from another country, but apparently, my parents didn't accept the reward for defeating the Demon King from the previous King. They treat it as if they are paying the reward, so it's fine.
I thought it was a bit casual, but defeating the Demon King is such a great feat that a mansion is a cheap reward.
By the way, about the Demon King, as a Japanese person from my past life, I imagine something like Satan when I hear "Demon King," but that's not the case.
The Demon King is a very powerful magic user who has gained even more power and happens to be hostile to humans, so humans call them "Demon King." A Demon King with a different appearance appears every hundred or two hundred years.
Not all powerful magic users are hostile to humans, so not everyone who gains power becomes a Demon King.
People in the country where the Demon King is born, or those living nearby, work hard to defeat the Demon King to prevent the country from being destroyed.
This setting seems a bit loose, but it is an otome game.
It's not a role-playing game, so there's no need to thoroughly develop these settings.
After all, the main focus is on romance. It's an otome game, after all. The Demon King is just a side element in the setting.
I whistled and raised my hand again.
"Then, tomorrow morning, we'll board the ship prepared at the bay and flee to Stilria!"
"Oooh!"
The management of the Felsenstein territory has been entrusted to the old man who was living in retirement.
The old man is the younger brother of the previous King.
No matter how powerful the King or Crown Prince is, they cannot punish the younger brother of the previous King, so entrusting the territory to the old man ensures its safety.
The old man looked exasperated and asked, "What are you thinking?" but he didn't scold the rash actions of his son and his family, who had joined the hero's party to defeat the Demon King. He probably gave up.
So, we decided to leave the dangerous stage of this game before it begins.
