"You must not speak of such foolish things. The knowledge of the human body and each and every magic spell have all been accumulated as important secrets by Maple Leaf. It's not that simple..."
As he spoke, Cameron's face suddenly changed.
"...I see. That's what you mean."
Cameron reacted as if he had come to some understanding.
"What is it?"
When I asked, Cameron raised his eyebrows and looked straight at me.
"You gather information on magic from various countries through such means, don't you?"
It seemed I had already given Cameron a significant misunderstanding. He clearly thought I was a fraud.
In that case, I raised my hand.
"Then, I'm sorry, but could we return to the special room? I will show you my magic first. If you think it's worth listening to, that's fine."
When I made the suggestion, Cameron's expression hardened.
When we returned to the special room, a new critically injured person had been brought to the place where the young man had been earlier.
Hearing that the most critically injured were taken to the far right, I was guided there again. It seemed Strass, Cort, and Alabata couldn't refuse and were brought along as well.
I focused on the screams and groans coming from behind the white curtains.
"Then, let me show you. I'm sorry, but could you please remove all the curtains? It would be better if I could see clearly, even if it's just from one direction."
When I said this, Cameron looked stern and hesitated for a while, but then he looked at the students and spoke.
"...It seems Aoi from Fidic Academy will demonstrate healing magic. Please open all the curtains temporarily. Of course, I'll handle it if it becomes too difficult. You two, please inform the other students."
When Cameron gave the instructions, the two students looked back and forth between me and Cameron, then responded and ran off.
Although their suspicion and distrust hadn't cleared, they seemed curious to see what I would do. Cameron unexpectedly cooperated quickly.
"Thank you."
After properly expressing my gratitude, I looked around the special room.
The curtains were opened one by one from the front and tied to the poles. It seemed short poles were set up at regular intervals to pitch tents, and the curtains were hung using them.
Even from a distance, I could see the critically injured people lying on the examination tables, and Eliza and the others huddled together, trembling.
The students waiting by the examination tables looked at me with various emotions. Most were anxious and worried, but some were glaring angrily. The students opening the curtains were probably studying other types of magic.
As the people in the room gradually focused their attention on me, I confirmed the injured. There didn't seem to be anyone as severely injured as the young man from before.
With that in mind, I concentrated my magic while keeping everyone in my field of view.
"Wind of Life"
I spread my magic thinly like a wind, enveloping the people who needed treatment. The wind of magic gradually gained strength and entered the bodies of the injured. Once inside, the magic repaired their bodies based on my knowledge of the human body.
In total, I treated ten people simultaneously, from the far end of the special room. However, it didn't seem like anyone was in a critical condition.
Everyone's bodies glowed faintly, and I was able to heal all their injuries in about a minute.
As everyone looked at the healed people in amazement, I turned to Cameron.
"The treatment is complete. Most were deep lacerations, minor internal injuries, and fractures, which is good. However, the large man in the middle who lost consciousness had significant internal damage, so it was a bit risky. I believe all his internal organs are now normal."
After saying that, I implicitly asked Cameron, "How was it?"
Cameron, with wide eyes, compared the faces of the healed people and mine. Then, he walked silently to the injured people.
He called out to the students and checked the condition of the healed people. Cameron confirmed their breathing, heart sounds, and pupils, methods that seemed to align with modern medicine, making me feel that his medical knowledge was indeed well-learned.
After a while, Cameron returned, looking slightly fatigued.
"...Indeed, the treatment seems to be completely finished. It's unbelievable, but I can't deny what I saw. Healing multiple injured people over a wide area... it's a great magic that only the highest-ranking healing mages, such as the Holy Maiden or the Saint, can perform. For someone from a country other than Maple Leaf to do this..."
In response to his words, I shook my head to deny Cameron's statement.
"No, my magic involves visually diagnosing the injured and treating them within a certain range. If the Holy Maiden or the Saint can use a healing magic to treat a large number of people without limit, it would be a different method of research from mine. I would like to verify it if possible."
When I answered, Cameron pulled his chin back and looked down.
"...The current Holy Maiden is not skilled at wide-area healing magic. However, she can treat more than five critically injured people simultaneously. She can completely restore lost limbs, not just eyes or ears, with focused healing magic. Both methods consume a large amount of magic, so she can only use them once or twice a day..."
Cameron spoke about the Holy Maiden and the Saint in a much lower tone than when we first met.
