Chapter 3

I woke up feeling a bright light, and as soon as I was awake, I groped for the hand mirror by my bedside. Searching for it. Then I checked myself, my face in the mirror, and despaired that it wasn’t a dream. The one in the mirror is still Mystia Arlen. It’s me. I had forced myself to sleep yesterday, half expecting this to be a dream, but it was indeed real.
Apparently, I had received my second life as Mystia Arlen. And perhaps what ran through my mind like a run-on yesterday was a memory of a previous life, though it was hard to believe…. It’s a spiritual, non-scientific matter, but the word virtual, too, from yesterday. This game that I didn’t understand, and the fact that the word “effects” is clearly recognizable now, shows that yesterday’s ‘memories’ were of a previous life.
Both my father and mother were born and raised in ordinary families, from which I was born and lived as an extremely ordinary daughter.
I grew up pure, ordinary and unsocial, and I had a sister who grew up socially. The four of us lived an ordinary life.
I went on to become a high school girl without any particular worries and issues. I just went to school, worked part-time, played games and went to bed. It was a very ordinary, steady, commonplace and happy life. But on my way to school in the morning, I saw a truck and a child who were about to be run over. That was the first incident that came to me in my ordinary life.
I ran out as quickly as I could. And the truck was right in front of me as I ran frantically and caught the child’s shoulder. I’m not a short-distance runner, nor am I a long-distance runner. I’m not an instantaneous athlete, nor am I specially trained. I was ready to die instantly.
But even the most ordinary me could push the kid away on the spur of the moment.
For the first time in my life, it was an extraordinary action. It was a beautiful decision. The kid had a surprised look on his face. If it weren’t for the fact that the truck was approaching, my crime would be a violent act, so I had no choice. And then I was an average person who had used up all my luck on the first effort of my life, and I was just going to take on the truck with one free hand. There was no way I could stop it and was run over. Strictly speaking, I was hit and bounced off my body slammed hard against the road.
Right after that I felt like I was floating for the first time in my life, the pain was intense. And I don’t know if it was bad luck or something like that, but the pain didn’t end in an instant. The child who was pushed away, crying and screaming like a mess, reassured by the sight of him, but the fierce pain and heat spread all over my body. I was suffering from an injury to my head and had lost consciousness.
That’s why I think I probably just died. Or rather, I’m living as a different person now.
Anyway, yesterday I learned how I had lived and died.
I was 17 years old. It’s a short life in terms of the average human lifespan.
But looking back, it really was an ordinary life.
That’s why I was so immersed in the world of games. Games are good, everything is free. You can fly, run around in all directions to kill monsters.
You can wield swords and guns, you can repeatedly do unethical breeding, and make a huge fortune in crops. Even running around naked and selling your clothes wouldn’t get you caught.
But for living in the world of Kyunrabu as a reality, all I can feel is despair.
Kyunrabu.(TLNote: Kyun~ Love, is what it means)
(Editor note:The name of the game in english translates to Springtime Love School)
I’m a fan of nurturing, fighting, adventure, management, horror, mystery, and open world, or rather I was only playing those genres, and a friend lent a new game to me as a missionary in the name of expanding my range. It was a game that is very similar to this world. Or rather, it’s a world that was in that very game. “Kyunrabu Love School” That’s what it was called.
The logo is in a bright pop style. Between Springtime, a cute pink heart that looked like it came out from an anime for girls is drawn, and between Love, a miserable heart colored like fresh blood.
When I think about it now, that kind of a logo, it’s a warning sign. A sign that if you only care about your own emotional heart, the hearts of others will end up suffering.
The setting is a hodgepodge of early modern and medieval times. It absorbed the conveniences of both sides and obscured the complicated parts. It was a period setting and with a western worldview that could be enjoyed in the atmosphere even without deep knowledge.
An ordinary protagonist enters an aristocratic school, and despite the fact that it is called a strange occurrence, the gamemakers’ intentions are that you meet some promising men with good looks, but somewhat difficult personalities. A game in which the goal is to make them fall one after the other with the way you speak and marry the socially powerful and wealthy.
That friend of mine explained to me the game had roughly stripped the dramatization and romance, but the description of the synopsis of the game was the true thing.
At the time it was recommended to me, I refused to play this game, no matter how much my friend suggested it, because I’m not very good at socializing, and of course I’ve never been in a relationship with the opposite sex. On the contrary, my basic friendships are made up of my family and a very small number of friends, and I lack the ability to socialize and that’s obvious human nature that I’m doing this. In the unlikely event that I do have an incident, my classmates will say in an interview, “I don’t remember much.” To answer or “I’ve been looking under my desk a lot of the time… I thought I’d do it someday.” There’s no doubt about it.
Even my sister, who is my relative, repeatedly warned me, “You don’t know how people feel. There’s no way such a person can’t conquer people, even if it’s a game.” I refused my friend from him lending his game, saying that I couldn’t give him good feedback and that I couldn’t live up to his expectations, he just laughed and cut back, “I’m sure you’ll be fine.”
“This is one hell of a ridiculous game, so it’s absolutely fine”
I have no idea what makes it okay. Furthermore, no specifics were explained to me at all: “Just try it for now, it’s okay,” “It’s safe,” “Everyone He pushed me away saying, “I’m doing it.
Looking back on it now, it’s a way of recommending something that should never be done.
And when I played it halfway through, it was indeed a hell of a piece of work. My friend was right.
As for the characters themselves, even though I don’t play otome games, I’ve heard of them a lot.
A gentle and gentlemanly princely alumna, a hard-working alumna, a senior with an open female relationship, an oratorical Teacher. A member of the group that looks like a collection of attributes attached to the main character in a manga or a drama. My friends called him Prince Glitter, Coup de Grace, Charmer, and Yakuza Teacher.
By the way, Prince Kira-Kira (Sparkling) is not strictly speaking a prince. But the way he behaves and looks, he’s only a picture-perfect prince. In short, it was a nickname.
I proceeded to play the game so that I could have a happy ending with the hardest-working, most diligent alumnus I could find. I got through it successfully. To be honest, I don’t remember the content of the game particularly well. Next, I selected an open-ended charlatan senpai who seemed to have a strong habit, and I cleared that one as well. I don’t remember much about it, only the memory of rehabilitating the open-minded senpai’s perception of women.
Dr. Olaola was rather caring and only rough in his language. I have no memory of the content.
So, I finally conquered Prince Glitter (another word for sparkling).
Although I hadn’t found any outrageous elements at all up to that point, I wouldn’t stake out my friends if it was a different story. Because the game is the real thing after clearing. It’s because the game is anchored that it will release ridiculous elements such as hard mode for everyone until the game is cleared and for those who usually play the game after clearing it.
I’m sure the outrageous developments in the game are not the main storyline, but sub-stories and different endings, after they had been cleared.
That’s what I assumed, and I went into the story of Prince Glitter with my guard up. But that was no good. It was because his route was the path to Shura.
In Prince Glitter’s storyline, as you play, a rival fiancé appears. It’s a so-called competition for Prince Glitter.
(TLNote: I cannot stop laughing really… this nickname was awesome. Comment down what you want the name to be change that correlates to Kira kira and Glitter XD AHAHAHA)
Mystia Arlen. With a catchphrase of “the most evil young lady who repeatedly went rogue and tried to earn love at all costs”.
She has a selfish and arrogant personality. She looks like a temptress with black wavy hair and angular eyes, but this is what you need to pay attention to! You’re the worst. Deadliest woman.
That’s right, she’s the most evil. What’s wrong with her is her behavior. She is not just the usual proud and selfish young lady who is a common rival in love, but she is also the incarnation of arrogance. As a personification of authority and evil, she bullies the protagonist, who is her own love interest.
The way she treats him is so out of character that she feels that he has actually burned down her village, and that he is her personal property. That is, of course, the absolute destruction of anything involved, and the immediate elimination of anyone who is involved. If the protagonist shows up at the party, she rips up the dress with her bare hands.
I should add that her hands are not judgment scissors.
If she goes to the sea, she drops them off a cliff, and if she goes to the mountains, she drops them to the bottom of the valley.
What is most frightening is that the evil deeds up to this point are not metaphorical, but direct metaphors. And the protagonist makes a full recovery in the next scene, unharmed. You may wonder if she is specially trained or if she is a combat weapon, but that’s the point. That’s why. The main character has been kept alive in the scenario because she doesn’t want to die.
And if Mystia can get around so flamboyantly, she’ll certainly be exposed to the white light for her criminal activities. But she hides them in the dark with all of her family background and power. And she just doesn’t stop there. When she sees the glittering prince whose heart is set on the heroine, she tries to make him sleep and says she was attacked, and pregnant with a child. Then those who had treated the protagonist kindly, the so-called mob characters drop out of school one by one.
When the protagonist finally loses patience with Mystia, it was when she forced her friends to leave school. In March, as the end of the semester draws near, at the graduation party of her senior year, she condemns Mystia’s past misdeeds. I will present your damage report. With evidence.
But Mystia didn’t change her mind there, and late at night, about a week after the party, she went to school. She calls the protagonist up and tries to kill her by setting fire to her. Telling her that she should never be happy.
Honestly, I’m more impressed with the demonic form and hateful voice that Mystia directs at the protagonist than the titillating illustrations and voices of the individual route’s targets of attack.
Mystia looks like she’s laughing high on the dance floor over such a sacrificed corpse, or almost did. Perhaps that’s why the end of Mystia’s life is always so epic. Imprisonment and death charges. The end of paying for her own karma. Even in the end when Prince Glitter and Mystia are united, they are caught in the end.
Easy to understand, good and evil. Evil will always be punished. Many people may feel refreshed when they see it. But then it happens to you. That’s not good at all. I’m awaiting the death penalty in the name of incarceration. That’s not good at all. I have to die. The house is a step away from darkness. And being that darkness, I’m determined to fall into a deep, dark pit of hell.
Why have I become Mystia?
What, should I think it’s safe to say that I wasn’t the heroine? Is it better that I didn’t fall off a cliff while I was still in school? Her amazing survival skills are beyond human knowledge, but that’s because it’s a game world. If you fall off a cliff, people will die, and if you set fire to them, they will die.
Thus, when the morning arrives beyond the night of my birthday, I can’t quite get my thoughts in order. Like a broken music player, all I can think of is “why, why, why”.
“What’s the matter, Mystia-sama, aren’t you feeling well?”
A voice like the sound of a beautiful bell caused my consciousness to resurface from the spiraling thoughts of why and how. My personal maid, Melo, was anxiously looking at me. I was so worried that I didn’t even notice that Melo had entered the room. She had knocked on my door and I was probably responding reflexively.
“Would you like to rest a little longer?”
Her silver hair is trimmed and beautifully arched in a bob, and Melo’s lilac eyes, tinged with melancholy, reflect back at me. The limbs are a pale color that stretched out from the black maid’s dress that makes you feel graceful. In short, she’s an angel. The symbol of loveliness, Melo is the goddess of love. I love her. She is quiet, calm, and reserved, and her personality, appearance and substance, all of which are the best, Melo.
The best of all, that’s Melody. My personal maid, aka Melo.
Yes, there was Melo. That’s enough. I don’t care if I’m in hell or next to death, as long as I have Melo, I didn’t care anymore. There aren’t many lives where you’ll have such a cute maid in your reincarnation.
“I’m just not thinking straight.”
“Well, shall I make you a cup of tea before breakfast?”
Melo quickly prepared a teacup, saucer, and pot. Melo is a picture-perfect being, even when she’s brewing tea. It’s cute. I love it. Oh, if only I had been born as Mystia-kun and not Mystia-chan, I would have married Melo and I could make her happy. I stared at her and then huffed at the thought.
My imprisonment would mean that I would have to let this Melo, the personification of loveliness, be led to the streets. I must avoid imprisonment.
A chill ran down my spine. It’s no good. This is no time to escape from reality. If that happens, Melo will be preyed upon by the evil ungodly in an instant. My clever and dignified maid would be tainted. And my mother, the magnanimous and warm like Philgene, and my father, who for some reason breaks down when he talks to her about his love for her, would be imprisoned and. That’s right. I’m not the only one. I’m not the only one who’s going to be killed.
If I am imprisoned for death, everyone around me, including my family and maid, will suffer as well. Yes, I must avoid death by imprisonment at all costs.
But there is still salvation. I haven’t acted like Mystia in the game, especially since I was born. I’ve lived a long, steady, peaceful life. I’m just a kid with some social difficulties, and if I continue, I’ll never be accused of a crime. Besides, the main character involved in Mystia’s crime was introduced when she was fifteen, around the time she started school, and I still have five years to go. If I can’t find another school or study abroad before I start school, or even if I can’t, I can just get engaged to another man.
Because Mystia appeared as Prince Glitter’s “fiancée”. But now I’ve never met Prince Glitter, nor have I heard his name. The point is that an engagement event will occur between now and five years from now, so I can just destroy such an event.
As I nodded to myself to tell myself that I’m fine, Melo looked at me with worried eyes.
“…What’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing, it’s okay, it’s okay. I mean, I’ll make it okay.”
“Are you referring to … today’s engagement?”
“Eh.”
“We are scheduled to leave at noon for Master Raid Nocturne’s mansion, would you like to delay?”
“…Eh, today?”
Melo’s words make my mind go blank. “The engagement, today…?”
“Yes, milady”
“…Today?”
“Yes…”
“Is it today?”
”
”
In response to my reply, Melody curiously replies, “Yes, that’s right.”
I’m not going to go to the Nocturne’s house, I don’t ever want to go to such a place because Raid Nocturne is the target of the route attacked by Mystia’s route to unleash her malignancy, and the Nocturne house is the mansion where her fiancé lives.
