The Raid Nocturne in the game is a perfect gentleman, to put it plainly.
He’s the same age as the protagonist and Mystia. He appears as one of the classmates at the aristocratic school, which is equivalent to a first year of high school in modern times. He’s the only son of a venerable count family.
Smart and literate, he’s always first, never second in any field that he pursues. He is kind, gentle, unbiased, well-behaved and sociable, and he does not belittle his high ability and family background. A target attitude.
The shimmering, clean blonde hair that’s not a rebellious sultry gold. The fresh blue eyes that are often used in advertisements for sports soft drinks. A beautiful face and stance that would catch anyone’s eye.
His appearance, which everyone believes that he stepped out of a picture book, is the very definition of a prince, and even if he suddenly said, “I was actually born from a picture book,” There’s no way he would be referred to a hospital or treated as a mentally ill person.
A boy who will become such a man in the future. In other words, Raid Nocturne-kun, ten years old, is right in front of me across the desk. And he too, is looking at me, as my fiancé.
The time goes back not five thousand years, just after Melo told me about the Nocturne family’s messenger carriage. I asked Melo to refrain, and I immediately went to see my father to find out what was going on.
I hadn’t even heard of it, so when I say engaged, I mean arranged and then, at the drop of a hat, engaged. I guess it’s a trend currently. It was probably just a coincidence that Melo said my fiancée. Just in case the worst comes to worst, we’re going to be safe and jump off from around the second floor, or lightly sink into a pond a short distance away. I asked my father as I thought about doing this, and the engagement was a decision. A face-to-face meeting after the engagement was decided.
My father told me already three months ago that it was time for me to have a fiancé. I said, “Huh,” apparently. I don’t remember much, but at the time, I was fed up with my father’s insistence on a day-by-day celebration to celebrate the three months and few days before my actual birthday. I had then been fed up with my father’s talk, and listened to the conversation at random.
And my father, who took my casual reply as approval, selected a good man from a list of potential fiancés in the twinkling of an eye. He had then chosen him as my betrothed. While listening to these stories, they ate breakfast, dressed themselves and went with their parents to swing in the carriage and the Nocturne mansion…
Or rather, we reached the Nocturne’s mansion, which is no longer almost synonymous with a castle in size, and we swayed in a carriage till we had arrived. He exchanged greetings with the familiar, somewhat mechanical and unassuming Count Nocturne and the fragile Lady Nocturne. The parents were separated from each other, and the children from each other, imprisoned for a cup of tea and fellowship. The both of them, one who’s the root of landmines, and the other the cause of the separation of her family with a punishment of death, were thus placed in a room together.
And so, in the middle of the room, there was a table and chairs as if to say, “Please come and talk to us here,” and as Raid Nocturne and I took our seats, the door opened and a servant appeared, as if he had been watching us from somewhere, and put out tea and pastries, and then quickly left again.
So, in front of us, there were steaming, fragrant and delicious tea and sweet-smelling cookies and. The teacup and the plate of cookies which should be beautifully decorated, but by having Raid Nocturne sitting across from me, they appear plain and unappetizing.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, miss. My name is Raid Nocturne.”
“It’s nice to meet you too. My name is Mystia Arlen.”
Seeing for the first time Raid Nocturne in front of me. His first appearance in the game, through the main character, was when he was fifteen years old, and he’s older there than he is now. But the color of his hair and eyes are the same.
This is a visual that will not be flamed by the extreme fan base as “too far away”, but rather it will be even more popular.
But even with the real thing in front of me, I can’t remember the key Raid Nocturne event.
I feel that the horrifying extent of Mystia’s deeds were so strong that it’s even been drowned out by everything else. I remember seeing her like a bird of prey, clenching its teeth, ready to devour the prey in front of it. The expression on Mystia’s face and the fact that she pushed our heroine off a cliff and said, “Take a bath.” All the while laughing triumphantly from atop the cliff side.
When I remembered my own past life, the memories for the specifics of the individual characters of Kyunrabu, I could only vaguely remember the endings. But as for him and his events and choices, I have no idea. After all, I’m a villain where I know which choices the heroine will choose to put in a happy ending. Not that it matters, but this is the trauma and complexes that we find out about as the story progresses. And that means I had no idea what events are at the heart of his own.
I don’t know what’s a minefield, which means he’s a cautionary tale.
All the way to the carriage I was trying to figure out what I could do to make this engagement go away, but since I didn’t know what the other guy’s triggers were, I couldn’t do anything poorly.
Although if I was disrespectful it would likely break the deal, while the engagement was still almost certain to be arranged, on the other hand This kind of maniacal behavior would bring trouble to my parents. It’s a little better than imprisonment for death, but I’m also afraid of the bad publicity it would create and the possibility of a later death penalty.
So, today, I have to give up on the idea of reversing the engagement and show that we are not the enemy and that we will cooperate when the engagement is broken. I decided to, but if you suddenly say, “You’re fifteen years old when your destiny comes to you, and I will step aside at that time. So to speak, ‘I’m the fiancé separating them,’ and it’s usually a problem. They will think that you’re devoted to some dubious religion that seems to have only the purpose of collecting money. When I was just silent as if I was holding my breath, Raid Nocturne opened his mouth with a smile.
“Feel free to call me Raid.”
“Yes…”
I will never call him that. When the protagonist casually calls him “Sir Raid”, “I’m the only one except for the Nocturnes, Sir Raid. I only have the right to call you as such,” said Mystia in response with a full swinging slap, so I will definitely call you, not.
Living as someone who doesn’t even reach for the tea in front of them, but only stares at it, Raid Nocturne, who took my suspiciousness as nervousness, now laughed at us.
“Don’t be so nervous. See, we’re the same age.”
“Ah-ha.”
Raid smiled in a broken tone, perhaps to relieve the tension, but what came out of his mouth was unmistakable. It was an “ah-ha”. Two “A” and two “Ha”. A distorted laugh. No, I thought I was laughing, but it was uttered in a completely separate voice. It wasn’t even a laugh.
Raid Nocturne continued smiling at me, not caring that I’ve become such a suspicious person. I have to talk about something. I needed to tell him something, but I couldn’t think of anything.
“This, this engagement is out of the blue, you know…”
No, I’m trying to figure out what words to say and which ones are safe and which ones are not, so I’m gonna have to make a lot of choices in my brain. But the words I say were slurred. What would I have to say to keep the people working in the house from leaving the family? Honestly, I’m ready to give up my life now, so I’m inclined to let the house and its servants go.
“Well, it’s our parents’ decision.”
Raid Nocturne smiles as he eases the scene.
I remember hearing these words before. He said something similar when the heroine pointed out that he had a fiancée. If we continue the conversation, I might be able to gradually remember something about him. I have to remember and find some way to break up the dead end in the future. I wonder if there’s something that could somehow be a conversation starter.
“I suppose so…”
Good luck with that, the corner of the mouth twitched. I looked up and said, “And it’s a nice room, too,” And showing a hint of being impressed with the room, but something about it. I looked around to see if there were any, and found a chess set on a shelf in the corner of the room. I thought this was a guest room or something, but maybe it was a different room. The slightly old chess set looked like it had been carefully cared for, despite the scratches and scratches. I’ve played a lot of chess in online games, but this is the first time I’ve seen the real thing. It’s nice, cool.
“Do you know how to play it? Would you like to try a little?”
When he saw me staring at the chess set, he stood up and took the chess set and put it on the table. I was just looking at the chess set and didn’t want to play it. But he said, “Do you want to play first or second? He asked us as he sat down. Apparently, it’s a decision to play chess. What do I do, can I just drink and play chess like this? But I have no reason to refuse.
“Well then, I’ll take a black then…”
“Okay, well, I’ll start then.”
Raid Nocturne moved his pieces slowly. I nervously put my hand on my own piece.
