Yi Xingchen never expected that the watercolors on the painting would mysteriously disappear entirely, turning a perfectly good painting into a blank sheet of paper.

This astonishing scene left Yi Xingchen utterly baffled.

What was going on? Yi Xingchen still remembered clearly that the painting he saw in Lawyer Wang's office was not a blank canvas. Could it be a setup by Lawyer Wang? But that didn't make sense either. Lawyer Wang had no reason to covet his painting.

This was the only keepsake left by his biological father, and Lawyer Wang had explicitly stated that the painting was not valuable. Apart from its sentimental value, Yi Xingchen couldn't think of any other worth it might have.

In his mind, Yi Xingchen began to recall every detail that occurred after he came into contact with "The King's Farm" at the law firm.

The most likely time for something to go wrong was when he had the car accident.

Yi Xingchen couldn't explain what exactly happened, so he could only examine the painting again carefully. At this moment, he noticed a few drops of blood on the edge of the frame. Yi Xingchen guessed that this must be the blood he had spurted when he was hit by the car.

Just as Yi Xingchen was puzzled, an oval purple light gate suddenly appeared before him.

Yi Xingchen was taken aback. However, for some reason, a faint voice in his mind told him that this was a door, and behind the door was his home.

A strong impulse controlled Yi Xingchen's body, making him stand up as if he had no control over himself, and step into the light gate.

After passing through the light gate, Yi Xingchen's vision suddenly cleared, and a Western-style castle appeared before him, with a vast green field stretching out beneath his feet.

This scene seemed familiar... In the next second, Yi Xingchen was suddenly awakened. Wasn't this exactly the scene from "The King's Farm"? Could there be such a coincidence in the world?

Yi Xingchen fell silent, puzzled... He couldn't help but suspect that there was a connection between them.

Yi Xingchen subconsciously turned to look behind him, but the oval purple light gate had already disappeared. Moreover, he found that his body had regained control, no longer feeling the lack of control as before.

What puzzled Yi Xingchen didn't stop there. When he thought about the light gate, the purple light gate reappeared. Yi Xingchen could control the purple light gate, opening it at will.

Yi Xingchen breathed a sigh of relief; he no longer had to worry about the light gate disappearing and being unable to leave.

Turning to look at the distant castle, a strong curiosity drove Yi Xingchen to continue forward, heading towards the castle. The castle looked far away, but it was actually only about 400 to 500 meters away. Yi Xingchen quickly reached the entrance of the castle.

An iron gate blocked the way. Without hesitation, Yi Xingchen pushed the iron gate open. But then, Yi Xingchen saw nothing in front of him; instead, another light gate appeared. This time, the light gate was blue.

Yi Xingchen hesitated for a moment but was driven by curiosity to step into the blue light gate.

The scene before him changed again, and Yi Xingchen found himself in a dilapidated rock hall. The rock hall was clearly stratified, somewhat similar to the royal halls seen in films and TV shows.

Immediately, Yi Xingchen saw a group of people dressed in medieval European linen clothing, all looking at him with shock.

Yi Xingchen looked around and found himself standing on a platform in the hall, with a stone chair conveniently behind him. In the direct gaze of the crowd, Yi Xingchen took a step back and sat down on the chair.

"Your Majesty! Our noble King! You have finally returned! I knew you would never abandon us!" A man in tattered Western court uniform knelt down, tears streaming down his face.

The others in the rock hall also seemed to receive a signal, and they all knelt down, bowing to Yi Xingchen and shouting "Long live the king!"

Before Yi Xingchen could even process the kneeling subjects, his mind was suddenly flooded with a surge of information.

This information came from the last words of a king. The content of the last words gave Yi Xingchen a quick understanding of this world, including the country he was in and the origins of the people before him.

To Yi Xingchen, this was a strange and unfamiliar world. The place where he was, called the Azure Sky Continent, was dominated by humans. The civilization of humans was similar to the ancient feudal society on Earth.

The last words Yi Xingchen received were from a king of a defeated nation. On the verge of his country's downfall, the king gathered all the church monks, alchemists, sorcerers, and other mysterious professionals in the nation and built nine spatial spires in the shortest time possible. Using the power of lightning, he aimed to carve out a small piece of land to form an independent space as the last refuge for the kingdom, protecting the remaining citizens.

The king succeeded, but the backlash from the lightning's power cost the lives of everyone involved, including the king himself. The protective space was never used. The king, unwilling to accept this, used the moment when the lightning broke through the space-time to drift into the endless void, carrying his will.

Since the king was responsible for overseeing the refuge, his soul was imprinted with the key to the refuge. Therefore, the refuge had two doors: a purple light gate and a blue light gate.

In the vast universe, on a blue planet in the solar system, a painter with strong mental power accidentally received the imprint of the king's soul during a dream. Based on the information provided by the king's soul, the painter used all his remaining life force to paint a picture after waking up. This painting served as a medium to open the mysterious refuge space.

The painter was not well-known in the industry, and this work did not attract much attention. The painter passed away within a month after completing the painting.

Even after his death, the painting did not gain much recognition. Perhaps due to its ordinary style, it didn't attract many admirers over the next two to three years. Because the painter was unknown, collectors merely regarded the painting as a valuable but ordinary piece, placing it in a museum.

In the museum, few people appreciated the painting, so no one had the chance to trigger it.

It wasn't until Mr. Yi bought the painting and gave it to Yi Xingchen that the painting found a new home. When Yi Xingchen was in a car accident and spat out blood, the blood combined with the soul information in the painting, opening a purple light gate. Yi Xingchen thus indirectly inherited the refuge—the King's Farm.
