As Qian Youliang saw a large chunk of flesh missing between Rayn's thumb and index finger, the bloody wound looked extremely terrifying. She gritted her teeth and said, "Sir, we found a survivor, but he has gone mad and actually bit me..."

Matthew Addison frowned and said, "So you shot him?"

Rayn loudly replied, "Sir, but he has gone mad!"

"He's gone!" Qian Youliang pointed to the spot on the ground with bloodstains.

Matthew Addison walked to the bloodstains and looked at them. The blood had already turned semi-dry and thick, clearly not fresh. He had a bad feeling in his heart. Standing up, he loudly said, "We need to leave the hive immediately!"

Rayn was surprised and asked, "Sir? Weren't we ordered to secure the Flame Empress motherboard and wait for the backup forces here?"

Matthew Addison shook his head with a bitter smile and said, "There are no more backup forces... We need to prepare to leave now!"

As they were talking, a sound of metal scraping came from not far away. Rayn and JD both raised their guns and walked over. After a few steps, a man in a lab coat, dragging an iron hammer, appeared from around the corner, followed by several more "people" who were walking unsteadily.

"Stop!" JD raised his gun and shouted, "Or I'll shoot!"

"They won't listen to you," Kaplan shook his head and then shouted, "Damn it, there are more behind us!"

"They are everywhere, guys, they are everywhere!" Alice looked around in panic, "We are surrounded!!"

These "people" naturally couldn't stop. They had already been infected by the T-virus and were reduced to mindless zombies. As they appeared, more of these unsteady "people" kept emerging from the corners. They were dressed in work or lab coats, some of them already rotting, and others with completely twisted and deformed feet but still walking. Qian Youliang even saw one whose head was only half left, the rotten bones and brain matter were grayish-white, which almost made him vomit again.

"Bang!"

Matthew Addison was the first to fire at the zombies. The zombie with the iron hammer was shot and flew out, but quickly got up again, unsteadily. He had been hit by over ten bullets, but barely bled, indicating that his blood had already clotted.

"Bang!"

"They are already dead, aim for their heads, their weakness is their heads!" Qian Youliang shouted to the mercenaries.

Matthew Addison, hearing Qian Youliang's advice, loudly said, "Alright, all team members maintain formation. JD, find the exit! Rayn, guard the prisoner, the rest follow me!"

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone immediately took action.

Seeing more and more zombies, Qian Youliang remained calm and followed behind Matthew Addison. As they walked, Matthew Addison suddenly turned around and handed him a pistol and two magazines, saying, "I might not be able to take care of you. Each magazine has fifteen bullets. I assume you know how to use it, aim for their heads!"

Although Qian Youliang had never used a pistol, he had seen plenty of gun-related videos and knowledge online. He placed his tool bag at his feet, held the gun with both hands, and aimed at the head of a zombie in a lab coat, mentally encouraging himself.

"Bang!"

A spark shot out from the pistol's barrel, and the bullet hit the zombie's right hand, tearing a wound and causing dark red blood to flow. Seeing the zombie getting closer, Qian Youliang took a deep breath and aimed at its head again.

"Bang!"

The second bullet hit the zombie's head, and it fell to the ground. After killing this zombie, Qian Youliang became more adept with the pistol, able to take down a zombie within five meters with three to four bullets. Beyond ten meters, it was mostly a matter of luck.

Matthew Addison nodded in approval and focused on the front, leaving the zombies behind to Qian Youliang and another mercenary.

"Zombie killed, reward points 0.1."

"Zombie killed, reward points 0.1."

"Zombie killed, reward points 0.1."

...

As Qian Youliang killed zombies, a series of reward notifications sounded in his ears.

"Click, click." The sound of an empty magazine echoed. Seeing the empty pistol, Qian Youliang looked at the mercenary beside him.

"Qian Youliang, here." The mercenary, understanding Qian Youliang's look, handed him his pistol bullets. Qian Youliang took the bullets and continued shooting zombies.

Zhao Jianwei, seeing how easily Qian Youliang killed zombies, walked over and loudly said, "Brother Qian Youliang, you're amazing! You must have used guns a lot before, right? You got a lot of reward points in the laser corridor. Killing these zombies only gives 0.1 points. Why don't you let me use the gun to earn some points?"

Matthew Addison suddenly turned around and asked, "What are reward points? What do you mean by 'brushing'? If you want Qian Youliang's gun, forget it. I don't know if you are friend or foe."

"I just meant 'brushing points' in a video game, ha ha." Zhao Jianwei's face turned pale upon hearing Matthew Addison's words. Qian Youliang knew he must have heard the warning from the System and had his reward points deducted, turning his points into a negative score.

When Zhao Jianwei realized Matthew Addison wouldn't let Qian Youliang give him the gun, he turned to Qian Youliang, hoping he would hand over the gun. However, Qian Youliang ignored him and continued shooting zombies.

Knowing Qian Youliang wouldn't give him the gun, Zhao Jianwei's resentment towards him deepened. He swore to himself that he would make Qian Youliang pay for ignoring him, the "main character."

More and more zombies kept coming, their unsteady movements looking terrifying, but they moved slowly. Under Qian Youliang's gunfire, no zombie could get within five meters of him. However, as the number of zombies increased, his bullets decreased. By the end, he only had a few bullets left, and dozens of headless zombies lay on the ground in front of him.

Qian Youliang looked at the mercenary again.

The mercenary, while shooting with his automatic rifle, shook his head and said, "I don't have any pistol bullets left. I only have rifle bullets. Go to the captain, I'll hold off these zombies."

Qian Youliang nodded, picked up his tool bag, and ran towards Matthew Addison.

On the other side, Kaplan was calmly inputting the password to open the door blocking their path, under the cover of the others.

"Is the door not open yet?" Qian Youliang asked.

"How did you get here? Weren't you killing zombies? Are you scared?" Zhao Jianwei sneered as soon as he saw Qian Youliang.

Qian Youliang gave Zhao Jianwei a cold look and said nothing.

"Not talking, ha ha, I hit the nail on the head, didn't I?" Zhao Jianwei laughed.

"If you don't shut up, I won't mind sending you to see Satan," Matthew Addison pointed his gun at Zhao Jianwei's head.

Zhao Jianwei was immediately scared into silence.

"The door is open," Kaplan's voice interrupted Matthew.

As the door opened, Qian Youliang threw the tool bag on the ground, not caring if the T-virus vials inside were broken, and immediately ran towards Kaplan. He knew the other side of the door was not a safe passage but was filled with a crowd of zombies waving their arms.

The moment the door opened, Kaplan was stunned and immediately grabbed by a zombie. As he was about to be dragged inside, Qian Youliang decisively shot the remaining bullets from his gun and pulled Kaplan back.

"Saving computer expert Kaplan, reward: one D-level horror movie side quest, 1000 reward points."

Another reward notification, but before Qian Youliang could think about it, a large number of zombies surged out from the open door.
